get to know toulouse bonfamille :
Growing up as a triplet had a lot of ups and downs as far as Toulouse was concerned. It meant having two built in best friends that were always around, which was great. But it also meant having two built in enemies that were always around as well - the three fighting for their mother’s attention or just fighting in general. Rarely was it ever over anything big, just bickering that occasionally turned into playful wrestling - but it was still enough to have their mother scolding them left and right.
That was really the hardest part of growing up, for Toulouse at least. While he was grateful for all of the benefits and luxury that came from being an aristocrat and heir to a huge fortune, there were just so many rules and expectations that came along with it that fucking sucked as far as he was concerned. He wanted to run wild, to prove himself as the tough guy he always believed himself to be, he wanted to have fun. But none of that was acceptable for someone of his status. While he got away with more than his sister did, it still wasn’t by much. And it sucked.
Which was why once he turned eighteen and had access to his trust fund… well, Toulouse planned to go far away for college. He was looking at schools in America, London, and Echo Island - far from Paris and the expectations that were always placed upon him, the watchful eyes of his mother and grandmother. Except… he never really got the chance to make that choice.
A few days before their eighteenth birthday the Bonfamille children were kidnapped by their family butler, Edgar - a man that they had trusted and cared for as if he were truly a part of their own family.
They were held for nine days before being found. During that time each of the kids were tortured in their own way. At first Edgar had tried to physically hurt him, but Toulouse was quick to fight back and after that Edgard learned his lesson. But that didn’t mean that he got off free, no instead Edgar locked him into a room, alone, and projected videos of his siblings being tortured instead. For eight days he didn’t see either Berlioz or Marie in person. For eight days he was completely alone. For eight days he had to watch his siblings being tortured with no way to stop it.
When they were finally free, Toulouse didn’t want to let either Marie or Berli out of his sight. He didn’t talk much, just simply sat near them and refused to go anywhere without at least one of them. Marie in particular he became quite protective of - having seen the horrible things Edgar did to her and feeling as if it were partially his fault that he couldn’t stop it. He was supposed to be the tough one, the protector of this family, and he had failed them.
For all that he had originally wanted to leave Paris and run far away, once they were actually shipped off to Echo Isle for their own safety and benefit, Toulouse found himself wanting to be back in Paris. He worries every day that Edgar is going to come back to go after his mother or grandmother. But he also refused to let Marie and Berlioz move into their vacation home alone, without him. So he simply has to hope that the security his mother has back in France will be enough to protect them.
Toulouse has always loved working out but since the kidnapping he’s gotten far more into it than before. He takes different self defense classes, has a strict regimen of weight lifting and cardio exercises each week, and if he’s not in the studio he’s almost always in the gym.
For the first two years of being on the island, Toulouse barely tried to make any friends. He stuck to his siblings and didn’t bother with anyone else. The kidnapping had messed with him so much and he just simply wasn’t himself. For those first years he was indeed in therapy, but he didn’t tell his therapist anything at all. Mostly just sat in silence or talked about inconsequential things like sports or weather. But then when he saw a man that looked liked Edgar on the street one day and ran up to attack him, beating the shit out of him, he realized he was far more fucked up than he thought. And that was when he started opening up to his therapist and putting in real work to try to move on and work through his trauma.
Since then he’s become more like his old self and he’s worked on making more friends outside of just his siblings - though no one would ever be more important to him than Marie and Berli.
Studied art theory and photography in college and currently works as a freelance painter and one of the photographers for the local paper.
He can play piano and sings a bit, but is hardly as good as Berlioz or Marie. Plus he doesn’t have the same passion for it that they both do. He much prefers art over music, liking to show his emotions in a way that needs to be interpreted rather than outright just saying it in lyrics.
Favorite color is orange.
