hi everyone! we have gotten a few asks recently asking us for recs on twincest, riko slash, and drake slash. we do understand that people are writing fics like this and there are people who want to read them. we do not rec things like that. i understand that we are a library and some of you feel we should look for anything we are asked for, and i understand where that view comes from. however, to find fics we often have to read through them and always have to read the tags. 

the majority of us find these topics triggering, and all of us would prefer not to read them. we are a library, but we are unpaid and we do not feel the need to harm our mental health to find you fics. i understand this will bother some of you, but i care about my fellow librarians more than i care about you wanting to read fics. if you do not know how to search for fics that we do not rec i would be happy to give you a quick tutorial if you pm me @andrewminjos. we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

When u see a post that pisses u off but instead of contributing to meaningless discourse u screenshot it and send it 2 ur friends so u can be pissed together and validate ur anger

not to go off about this again but absolutely fuck the extra content. it’s so stagnant to assume that andrew never gets better and it’s so gross of nora to insinuate that you have to slice off every part of yourself affected by trauma until there’s nothing left. sometimes trauma means you have lasting scars but they don’t have to define you - and this isn’t to say uwu andrew never has nightmares again, it’s to say that despite the nightmares; despite the memories that will never go away and despite the bad days where the mere thought of being touched makes him feel sick. despite all of this he RECOVERS. he learns to laugh when neil trips over his own feet, learns to smile to himself when nicky calls and he realised he missed him, learns that on the good days he can hug renee goodbye and it’s good. it’s safe.

to suggest that because he’s been through trauma after trauma he’s never going to recover and change is so harmful; to suggest that he never learns to smile, to laugh, to love. to do things he enjoys just because he wants to, to express to neil that he loves him because neither of them ever thought they’d get the chance. no one is saying that people can’t have healthy and fulfilling relationships without I love you’s and marriage but if anyone deserves to have that, it’s andrew and neil.

something deeply upsetting about the foxes’ relationship with kevin is that they all have experience with addiction and can clearly recognize it – seth, aaron, matt, etc – but have always facilitated kevin’s. they knew kevin’s first coping mechanism was copious amounts of alcohol but didn’t care because he didn’t let it affect his playing style and that’s sort of shitty!
