Enjoyed new year's day on our little balcony under the oak tree making a #prayersong 🙏 for this #newyear. It's inspired by #Ephesians3 verses 17-19. May God help us rest more deeply this year in knowing who we are in Him, that nothing we did last year can be held against us, and interestingly, none of our good deeds can make God's love for us any stronger. 

The part about our "good deeds" was also inspired by "The Discipleship Course" I did through @stjudesanglicanchurch last year where we were encouraged to not only repent of our sin, but also of our "righteousness" that can take our focus off what Jesus did to make us right with God.

"...that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith (you having been firmly rooted and established in love), in order that you may be strong enough to grasp together with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and height, and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, in order that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God."

My prayer is that the Holy Spirit might breathe these words deep into our souls as we face this new year together.

Testimony - Pamela Joy

The testimony and personal faith story of Pamela Joy... the story of why I stopped being angry at God, in spite of a world that is full of suffering…

As a child, the silence of God when I was demanding answers infuriated me so I believed God must be a mean spirited God who didn’t care about the violence and starvation in the world, let alone anything personal in my life.

As I grew into a young adult, I was enraged about everything and used to publicly reject Christian ideas and inflict terrible wounds on my Christian family through my bold and angry attitudes.

But that's not how the story ended. After wreaking havoc and spiraling out of control in depression, it felt like God’s hands reached inside my mind and sewed the fragments back together and breathed life into me. God changed me from the inside out.
