hello, it’s me

well... here we are. first off I want to apologize for taking so much time away from tumblr without any warning at such an important time for this fandom. I regret it. a lot. but I’ve experienced a lot of things, both good and bad, in the past few months, and I just kinda needed a break from everything for a while.

now that mockingjay is officially out, I wanted to say one last official thank you to everyone. not just my followers, but everyone in this fandom. the hunger games has truly been the best things that has ever happened to me. I grew up with this book. my intermediate and high school years have been marked by many memories, but the happiest of them all have involved this series. from midnight premiers to exhibitions to tearful nights fangirling with my best friend, the hunger games has truly provided me with some of the best experiences of my life so far. 

when I saw the movie last night, I sobbed multiple times (no shame). but what really hit me hardest was when the credits started rolling. honestly I’m still in shock/denial that this is the end. in fact, i kind of refuse to accept the fact that it’s over. having said that, I think I’ll always carry a piece of this fandom with me. 15 years from now, I’ll pass these books to my kids so they can learn the story that changed my life. the story of the boy with the bread and the girl from the seam. 

and who knows; maybe years from now when they try to bring back the series through theme parks and spinoff movies, we’ll all meet up as weird, obsessed adults fangirling to the point of embarrassing our kids. 

thank you for the memories, everyone. I’ll probably be blogging a little bit on here for a while longer, but when this does officially come to an end, I wish all of you the happiest of futures ahead. thank you for taking this journey with me. once a fandom, always a fandom.
