For Ludum Dare 31, we created Dog Astronaut. An adorable single screen space adventure game. It was our first real project as a game team and we are really happy with what we were able to accomplish in less than 48 hours!

Some NPC character art from the game. Its pretty easy to see which asset I made first. I feel like I'm really starting to find the style of the game.
The next step will be building an art bible so the game feels cohesive.

I didn't like my initial camera angles. After finding a more aesthetically pleasing angle and rotation I had to rethink how I was building my assets and buildings. I think the change is successful.
The project's code name is now "Neon Demons". Unfortunately the url is taken, so I'll need to brainstorm more on a final name.
I am incredibly happy with this alpha prototype for my demon summoning cyberpunk noir game. I really had no idea that I was going to accomplish as much as I did today. Building a 2D isometric game in 3D space with no prep was really fun.
I'm excited to start on the user interface, dialog system, and the demon summoning mechanics tomorrow.
One of the core gameplay elements I want to make is the summoning circle. This fits into my desire to make a paranormal game.
A long long time ago, a friend and I started a demon summoning game. The main concept was that you had to make a summoning circle, summon a demon, then outsmart said demon. With the initial game design we wanted it to be impossible to win because you shouldn't summon demons, right?
So in homage to that, I definitely want to bring this kind of element into this project.
Cyberpunk meets ancient evil. It just feels so right.
Roughing out some item and character design. Going for a sort of Edgar Allen Poe vibe for the main character. Or at least, the dude loves to wear black and have a mustache.

I recently decided I wanted to make a FPS Cyberpunk inspired game in Unity. I've worked with Unity for about yeah but pretty much exclusively as a UI Animator and designer. Moving into 3D has been really fun.
I have intentionally focused on building impossible building/structures to learn the basics of Blender. I'm really surprised by how powerful a program blender is. Will this be an Abducted By Sharks game? It would be pretty easy to set it in that universe since I already have so much backstory written. My original intention was to make a semi-future cyberpunk/dystopian paranormal FPS adventure game.
After I get more comfortable with Unity and Blender I'll spend more time on the core design of the game.
