"I used to use iTunes as a medium anyway. These days I don’t even use that. I can get good quality MP3s elsewhere without having to go through all the Apple drama, plus I do live near a good music shop anyway… and there’s eBay too.”
The smile on Bowen’s face grew upon Lyra’s suggestion. “That sounds like a good idea. I wouldn’t mind listening to your instrumental mix, plus you’ll get a proper glimpse at what I listen to as well.”
"eBay's good for sound tracks and non American songs. I use Amazon for American things. There's also bandcamp, and sometimes you can buy right from the band or game's website. If it's digital, I have a flashdrive with the songs and purchase receipts. In case I lose them, or something happens."
She considers for a moment. "I'll make you a copy, then."
Hello, Sir Chuuno. What kind of television do you tend to watch? Cartoons, comedy, soap operas, news, or so on? Do you have any favored show?
“….. I knew it.”
“I mean, uhh, I guess I mainly watch the news, I do love comedies and sometimes I watch a cartoon or two from childhood. Not really a soaps fan.I do have some favourite shows, though.”
inter-dimensional-traveller:
“Believe it or not, no, I haven’t gotten the flu or the cold. My co-workers are just as jealous, don’t worry.”
“And, well, there have been instances in the past when we’ve had to rescue other Operators due to things like that. I heard such assignments weren’t easy either.”
"Earlier, I thought it would be cool to be an Operator. But I get hungry too often, and I would definitely end up stuck somewhere..."
"Have you ever been assigned to a case where you had to rescue someone?"
The Charderon Hotel
“I hope so. He’s sweet.” She followed after her. Angel bowed her head at the doorman, thanking him quietly. “Okay, I’ll wait for you.” Her eyes glanced around once she got out of the way of foot traffic. It looked like a nice place. A place she’d come to again.
"Right! One moment!" Lyra moves behind the counter, greeting the conseigere already there. She sits down and, after a moment on a computer, waves Angel to come over.
"All set. Could you give me your name, please?"
The meme has just returned from a large con - 4k+ attending members. It did not do much this year, but the meme hopes to have a proper half-suit for next year. If it goes...
On the bright side, someone said the meme would make a great Undyne. The line for being suplexed starts over there.
inter-dimensional-traveller:
"Yeah, these days you can just get high quality audio from places like iTunes and stuff, although it’s still good to get CDs when possible.”
“I.. never really considered a favourite CD. I did get a friend of mine to compile a CD from great instrumental stuff I heard from various films and the like. The amount of effort that was put into it was phenomenal.
"I don't like iTunes. What if you accidentally violate their terms, and they delete your account? All the music you pay for is gone. It's easier to just buy a CD and rip it to your computer. That way you always have it."
"...Why don't we trade CDs sometime? Or, make copies for each other? If you like instrumental, I think my mix may be good. It's also pretty nice for sleeping to."

“Mmm, if I do, I know that I wouldn’t actually be sick, at least.” Not to mention he knew it would freak a lot of people out, he thought.“
"It depends. If I’m curious, I might be inclined to explore more, otherwise it’s just a matter of getting to civilisation and hanging around until I can get back. Taking items between dimensions is fine, as long as it’s done legally. Eating and such is usually fine too, unless it’s considered to be like tir na nog. Most cases we get warned beforehand.”
"...I envy you for not getting sick. Not even a seasonal flu? A cold?" She lets the questions hang with his next words.
And stares.
"Most cases. You said most cases. Does that mean people have gotten trapped in other dimensions for centuries because they wanted a snack?"
“Ppft...Nno... Nooo.... I won’t.... But the... Stick....”
She’s trying very hard not to laugh at a video.

She chuckled at Lyra’s expression. “Sorry about that…old habit.” She smiled, considering her question. “Well… Prosecutor Gavin is a coworker…Respected one. He’s a honest man from what I’ve noticed and gathered. He’s a good guy.”
Lyra pauses, then nods. Perhaps it is some kind of philosophy style? She files it away to ask about later, and points out a large building a block away.
"That is the Charderon Hotel. We are almost there." She continues walking at a moderate pace. "Perhaps I'll meet him one day. I'm sure I could think of many questions to ask a prosecutor..."
A doorman holds the door open for them. He and Lyra greet each other casually as Lyra walks in. She pauses and looks over at her companion. "Check in is right this way. If you'll give me a moment to clock, I'll check you in myself."

inter-dimensional-traveller:
“Ah, now I see what you mean. Yeah, no, if I’m on paid vacation, then I’m off both jobs. Calling in sick depends on what I’m doing that day, but to be honest, I’ve never actually had to call in sick. The other thing too is if I’m doing one job, I won’t be able to be roped into the other, due to certain agreements with both departments.”
“As for being stuck in another world, it’s quite annoying, especially when you’re waiting around for long periods of time for the Ministry to track the signal of the IDND so that one can get back.” He did try and remember as much as he could for asking questions later, although when it came to the inter-dimensional stuff, he knew that was just questions for him.
"You've never had to call in sick? Somehow, I have a feeling you'll have to do that soon. Especially if you're tempting fate by saying that."
"...Do you not take the time to just explore the area? Or must you stay in one place? Are you allowed to take items between dimensions? Or eat the food from other dimensions? Or is it like going into tir na nog? You know, where you get trapped there after eating the fairy food."
inter-dimensional-traveller:
"Ahh yeah. I remember buying a few CDs once upon a time. Sometimes I still do for the best quality.
When was the last time he even used his own CD player, he thought. These days he usually just used what was on the computer if he felt like it, or ripping the songs so that they were always there.
"Yeah, most of of the modern songs usually are repetitive, stuff I’m not really into to be honest. I don’t think they were even made for people like me anyway, but you do find a few good ones from time to time.” It was all a manner of looking.
"I keep a collection. Mostly I just play the music on my computer, but I'll probably break out my CD player now."
"Do you have a favorite CD? I have this old one that was made by a friend. She called it 'calm time.' A mix of different white noises and soft instrumental music from games. I think I listen to it at least once a month."
Hello. I apologize for my absence. The real world and my health had to take precedent over roleplaying.
Now it is time to return to disrupting my OC's life.
The meme author is currently focused on a game. Posts will return to semi-regular schedule soon. I apologize.

inter-dimensional-traveller:
“Hmmm, I do have some colleagues that watch anime, they might know.”
The blonde paused. She was still asking questions even now. Probably in her nature, he thought. “There are times where I love working two jobs and there are times when it’s a pain. Both are linked with the United Government in different departments, so they communicate with eachother to ensure that there aren’t any disruptions. How do I work breaks? I’m not sure I understand that one. Wages for both are amazing, I don’t worry about money these days. My Ministry job can sometimes be a bit disorienting, but I manage. As for getting stuck in a different world, that’s already happened due to equipment malfunction.”
Lyra tilts her head. "What I mean is, well... If you're on paid vacation for one job, are you still working the other? Do you have to call in sick for both jobs? Have you ever been on one job, but get called in to the other because someone else gets sick?"
"..What was it like being stuck in another world...?" It's definitely in her nature to ask the questions. As an added bonus, it keeps questions off her.
inter-dimensional-traveller:
"Alright. I’ll do that when I get home.” He’ll have to remember the name of the song, as well as to watch the music video.“
"Heh, hipsters. They’re an interesting bunch, I must admit.”
“The majority of music I listen to is quite old as well, most of it older than me, but I just find them awesome, is all. You do get good modern songs too at times.”
"I think I'm just stuck with music from when I was a kid. Back when I was buying CDs and stuff."
Lyra smiles a bit, as she still has the dusty old CD player and headset at home. Maybe it's time to pull it out for a listen?
"Most modern songs are annoying. They're just repetitive. Or they're made to get stuck in your head. I guess there's a few okay ones, though." Just not many.
The Charderon Hotel
“Seems so.” She smiled. “Besides them being in disguise, I also tend to be working crime scenes or interrogations, so I really don’t get to see many. Except prosecutor Gavin. I work with him time to time. Good guy.” She pulled her small suitcase closer to herself. “It’s fine. Why let one out of place grain of rice ruin a meal?” She winked. “Thank you for the welcome. I will try to see if I can.”
Lyra listens quietly. Then she looks baffled, eyebrows furrowed.
"Out of... Rice? I've never heard that before. It makes me hungry." Maybe she'll sneak a bag of chips for the slow hour. "What is prosecutor Gavin like? Is he a friend, or just a coworker?"
