I needed this reminder today, so I'm posting it in case anyone else needs it, too.

Animal Crossing is not a competition.

Just because other people might be further along than you doesn't mean you're failing the game or your villagers or doing a bad job. It's okay to not have Blathers on your second day of playing. It's okay if you haven't been to the deserted islands yet. It's okay if you haven't gotten past the flimsy tools. Everyone works at their own pace and you don't need to be so hard on yourself.

Animal Crossing is meant to be relaxing. If you're stressed about it, it might be good to step away for a bit.

Did it ever occur to you that the music you’re listening to now you’ll hear again in 30 years on some oldies station in the car with your kid and you’ll remember listening to your favorite band on your old computer in your old bedroom wondering how one band could change your life like this one has and then you’ll finally understand why your parents only listened to the oldies when you were a kid.
