Something Old, Something New
It is not news that I love free-motion quilting. That is old news. Many of the patterns I stitch are oldies, but goodies. They are great for filling quilting space. They add beautiful design and texture to quilts.
What is new are my stitch path and practice sheets. These are visual aids to learning how to stitch old and new free-motion quilting patterns. I use these sheets when I teach.
Now, I want share some of them with you. I hope to share old friends like, flames, swirls, stippling, pebbles and new designs each month. July’s patterns are flames and flames with swirls. Click the links below to download.

Before I stitch on fabric, I practice, over and over, with paper and pen. My habit is to practice ALL designs on paper first, then on a practice quilt sandwich. I only move to the quilt project once my hands and brain are working together and the machine is producing a lovely stitch.
For those hoping for a video tutorial, I’m not there yet. It may happen one day, but not now.
One last thing, these FREE sheets are for your personal use only. Please do not copy and distribute them.
