As the light fades from one side And the dark progresses to seize I refuse to submit to surrender For I see brilliant beams of hope On the other side
Those who are brightest know being on top requires support from different sources, unified in their vision of synchronized forward shift
Blurring The Lines
Orange lights progress to dim
when inevitable blue furtively slips in
Shake it up! Mix the two
For riches green will then ensue
Exploded Sacral
light starts with shadows
and ends with a silver string
connecting new light
The ugliest colors have all the fun mixing, mingling & colliding into brand new colors, while poor gold, remains frozen in solitary confinement.
I'm a woman, a partner, a parent, a friend, a daughter, a sister, an artist
who
struts, loves, mentors, laughs, supports, leaps
beyond the challenges you give me
female, gay, parkinson, human
layered
symphonically
together we will shine through the dark
So goodbye yellow brick road
where dreams hug my body with home
For I’ve finally decided my future thrives
inside the real shove of unknown
We celebrate light, dim or bright, colored or white.
And for all those absent, synapses singing silent night
We shall shine brighter, louder, longer, until the holes are overshadowed.
The weight of my future is heavy today as I leave my 30s. I am grateful for everything in my now that brings dancing light into cruel dark chasms of my brain.
My family who always provide a foundation to fall softly on;
My friends, the exceptional ones, who keep me laughing and care when I stop;
To art and wine and music and dancing. For giving me a home where I feel most me.
And to Parkie, for making me work hard and fight for anything that is worth anything.
I think I’ll let these candles blow themselves out…
My shaky hands lift shadows from all ahead of me. I can choose to stand frozen with fear, or shift forward, above, onward, anywhere, except in the hollow hell of those shadows...
My hand failed me in my pursuit to shoot summer's long, kiss goodnight.
But with shaky fortitude, I discovered a fiery passion bleeding its way through my lens, begging me to see the art gifted in the dark moments when the dopamine disappeared.
Blessed be me who chooses to see.
