Cailean had always strangely had a calming and relaxing effect on Wolf. As quite a high strung worrier, it was a welcome blessing meeting Cai all those years back and having a reason to not bite his nails to stumps or wear holes in his carpet from pacing around anxiously. So even now, when he felt uneasy and like something terrible had happened, there was a sense of calm washing over him from the presence of the other man. Of course, the calm didn’t stop the overwhelming guilt he felt when Cai forced himself up. He couldn’t deny that his friend looked absolutely exhausted.
“You don’t have to cook such elaborate things, you know?” It was a half tease, half sheer concern. While Wolf couldn’t deny that it was a relief to have company on his rampages, he couldn’t shake his overactive imagination and the fact he destroyed an evening every month of Cai’s life which cost him a lot of time in recovery. And then to have his friend so caring and attentive to taking care of him afterwards? He did feel like a horrendous burden in those moments.
With a slight, mirroring yawn, Wolf shook his head. “I’m absolutely fine, don’t worry about me. Guess a supermoon makes me extra uneasy,” he offered in explanation with a shrug. “Don’t move any more though. I need to shower all of this dirt off me, so I’ll order something. In a moment. When my legs decide to stop protesting.” With a soft smile, Wolf nudged at Cai’s shoulder with his own.
“Get some more sleep. Let me take care of you for once.” While he definitely didn’t feel up for looking after even himself in his pained, semi injured state, he meant it with complete honesty. For once, he wanted to make sure that Cai was alright instead of just pathetically staying there while his friend worked himself to double exhaustion looking after him.
Cailean, in general, was a very calm and happy-go-lucky sort of guy. He never really had much to go off of, especially when it came to family love. His parents were horrendous to him and his three sisters back when he lived in Scotland, and he did just about anything and everything in order to give them a better life. After stowing away on a ship, making deals with urban devils in order to get them proper identification, and everything else he put on the line, Cailean had learned how to relax. Nothing fazed him, no matter how insane it seemed.
"I fail to see how waffles are elaborate," Cailean shot back, a lopsided sort of grin on his lips. "Plus, I want waffles, so there." It was with that proclamation that Cailean hopped out of bed, wincing slightly as the covers came off him. While he normally ran a higher temperature than most, Wolf's apartment was freezing. "Wrong answer, I'm always going to worry about you," He assured his friend, giving him a wink. "Which means you're always going to be stuck with me come the full moon." Cailean immediately padded into the kitchen, opening up the fridge. Luckily for him, there was just enough to make a batch of waffles, and maybe even have some to take over to the girls. "Hey, you stocked your fridge without my help! I'm so proud." He grinned, as he went to grab a bowl, the waffle-maker, and began assembling the ingredients. He winced a little as he stretched up, his muscles screaming from whatever they'd gotten into the night previously.
"What do you want? Blueberry? Chocolate chip? Go back to bed, I'll bring you a tray. No offense, Wolfy, because you know I'll always tell you how handsome you are, but you look like shit. Cutest piece of shit I've ever seen, but that's okay. We'll get you back in the game in no time." He put the heat up on the stove and began cracking eggs into the bowl. "Ooh, I could make them pumpkin... Do you have canned pumpkin?"
