لکه ده سیند ده ژوند هم لار ده

Like a sea, life has a path too

کله په غره کښې کله میدان کښې

Sometimes in mountains, sometimes in fields.

چې زه جوړ ووم تش ده خاورې، بس ده خاورې وومه سیال

Since I’m made merely of dust, nothing but dust,

ولې تا رکړو سازونه او ګلونه او جمال؟

Then why did You give me melodies, flowers and beauty?

زما بخت ده شمعي بخت دى

يا به مرمه يا به سوزم

My fate is that of a candle,

I'll either die or burn to give light

يا به بيخ له ده درياب ځم

يا به سر په چپو خوځم

I will either sink to the bottom of the ocean, Or move on the surface of surging waves

عجيبه زه عجيبه لاره،

عجيبه كاروان روان دي

Me and my unprecedented path,

How strange is this caravan

ما وروستي پړاو له بيائي

كه زه ځمه او كه نه ځم

I'm being forced towards my final destination,

Whether I move or not.

زرې زرې شۍ چۍ رڼا ته رسی، نمر ته رسی

It breaks and shatters as it reaches the light, the sun

ستورې ده سختو نه تیریګې چی سحر ته رسی

Each star passes through darkness before it sees the dawn.

باغ كنبي څوك ګلاب شي، څوك شي سروي څوك ورخاړى

In a garden some blossom into roses, some become cypresses, others like a petal.

څوك د مېنځ غنچه شي، څوك كبل دغاړي غاړي

Some bloom as buds in the Center, Others sit on the sidelines.

تاج دچاد زرو، د چاتاج شي دغمونو

Some wear a crown of gold, Others bear a crown of sorrow.

وېش دبل په لاس وي، كه ته خاندي او كه ژاړي

Fate is dealt by unseen hands, Whether you laugh or cry.

ژوند مى داسي تيركړه

لكه بي ځوابه سوال

Life slipped away like a question lingering unanswered.

ژوندون، لٹون، مینہ، مرگے او حساب

Life, exploration, love, death and the accounting after death,

څومره کارونه مي په سر پراته دي

Oh how many things do I still have to go through?‎

جانان زما په سر جانان دې

My beloved owes me their existence,

که ځه یې پریږدم ده کوسو ملنګ به شینه

If I ever left them, they will end up a street beggar.

ورځ دى تيره په شومۍ کړه شپه له خوابه

You've spent your day being greedy and your nights asleep,

خـــــداى به کــله يــــادوى خـــانه خــــرابه

Tell me O lost soul! When are you gonna remember your Lord?

ستړې ده جهان یم

راله راکړه فنا سترګو کښې

This world has worn me out,

Let your eyes be my safe haven.

مینه ده زور خبره نه ده

که زړه دی نه وي بیا دې نه مجبورومه

Love is not a matter of force

If your heart is not dedicated to me, I will not burden you with my love.

وايه وايه ملا جانه

ژوند تپوس دي که جواب

ژوند وصال دی که جنون دي

که آرام که اضطراب

Tell me, oh pious priest

Is life just a question mark,

Or an answer with some meaning?

Is it union with the Loved One,

Or the eagerness of search?

Is it calm, peaceful existence,

Or mere restfulness and strife?

یو جهان کې د رنګ ډوب

د جهانه بی خبر

I'm immersed in a colorful world,

Oblivious to the awful reality around.

زمونږ د شپې شوګېرې هسې عادت

Spending nights roaming around is just a bad habit,

ګنې! زمونږه د راتلو څوک دي

Alas! I don't even have someone to wait for.

داسې خاموشه سوځیده هم مزه خپله لري

This burning in silence has it's own charm,

کوم کوم سړي ته به د ماتو زړګو حال وايو

After all, how much can I reminisce about my broken heart.

چې دا پاتې عمر سم راباندې تېر شې

So that my remaining days may pass in peace,

يو بې غمه زړه په څو دي دوکانداره؟

What is the price of an untroubled heart, O ruler of fate?

خندا به مومي، چې خندا وېشي

To find laughter around you, you must first distribute smiles.
