Keira Knightley. The one actress whose period drama performances would make me sigh with admiration. The perfection in her art, coupled with her beauty! I assumed "No one could ever do it like her!"

In walks Miss Anya Taylor Joy, smacking that idea out of my head with her performance in Emma. How do you portray a character who is clever and yet makes foolish mistakes? How do you say the smartest and yet the silliest things, without making it obvious that you find the character ridiculous?

I don't know how. But Anya definitely has it perfectly down. Here's to making place in my heart for my newest favourite!

Ending the first month of the year with @spreefirit's (instagram) dtyis challenge. In spite of the extreme turbulence of this month, I managed to check this dtyis off my list. This artwork features my usual tools : colour pencils, micron pen and plastic crayons.

It has taken me a long time to understand that making art often makes me feel like a blocked nose opening up. So I had to push myself to try this out, and GOD what a pleasant experience I had!

I must also confess my love for the prompt because it reminded me of The Makanai. The captivating beauty of the Maiko attire made me want to draw Sumire in full-gear so desperately! However, other commitments gained priority and over time it was pushed to the dusty back of my mind; until this prompt directed a flashlight at it and here we are!

My colourful acquaintances.

Some fly, some crawl, some walk on their soft paws, some use sticky pads, while others exude slime and stick to surfaces of myriad textures. For someone who is so in love with the world of the nonhumans, I pay regrettably little heed to them in my artworks.

This artwork is a tribute to some of the many beautiful strangers I often encounter.

It is during those moments that I often ponder upon my largeness. The violence of my existence. Many instances come to my mind; such as the time when I stepped on a baby lizard, or closed the window and crushed an adult one to death. The ants I flick off my bed. Or the snail that I unknowingly step on. [ N/A to mosquitoes.]

As much as I hope I dont crush yet another being, I know I am sitting on an ant right now. You probably expected some appropriate end to my caption, but there is none. I am not a writer. I am an admirer of all things unlike me, unlike us.
