Esports tournaments come once every year for a certain game. The tournaments are huge even comparable to some World Cup games. Fans are excited and can't wait to watch there favorite teams battle it out against other professionals. Esports is becoming a huge part of online media, with games being streamed every day on twitch.tv or youtube. Some even say that is becoming North Americas next great past time, so watch out baseball fans because esports is on its way.

So what is esports?

Well for starters lets talk about what esports are. Electronic sports refers to an organized professional video game tournament. There are many genres of esport including Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas (MOBAs), First Person Shooters (FPS), and Real Time Strategies (RTS). Now esports is growing rapidly because of these different genres. Each type of game will have a different and unique fan base. It's the same as any other sport.

Well the big ones are the U.S government has acknowledge the professional gamers as legitimate athletes and you can make a living of playing video games. Now some people might think that its bullshit but what's the difference between esports and any other sport out there? Gamers and athlete have some things in common. For one they make a living off of the game they love whether it is basketball or League of Legends. Another is they place against the best to prove they are worthy of being where they are today.
