Speaking of closets, Helga shuffled her suitcase closer to her person. She didn’t trust Olga with the sensitive materials in her bag. (Or anyone for that matter!) The thought of a bigger closet wasn’t too shabby, though. After shrugging, the young girl motioned for Olga to lead the way.
“A room with a view, huh? You don’t see me complaining.” Not that she would admit it, but Helga was forming layouts of her room in her mind. The view of the park across the street was a wide, open balcony. One where she could throw open the doors and call for her Romeo to climb up. Or - or -! While sitting at her vanity, he could sneak in through her window - just like in the movies! Smiling dreamily, Helga was ready to follow Olga wherever she was to be led.
❛❛ i don’t really need it, i might need to put a few boxes in your room for a while though. until we can get a storage unit to put stuff in. if that’s alright? ❜❜
she had taken the smaller room, it was still big enough for what she needed but it didn’t leave much room for the few boxes of old photos and papers she had from college.
❛❛ i hope you like it, even if it might take a while for me to work up the money to buy things for you to decorate the room with ... it needs painting, i think. i asked the landlord and she said you could paint it. i just need to save up for whatever color you want. ❜❜
shcrtman:
Well now he just felt like he was imposing. He hadn’t realized she hadn’t had anyone else over yet. And that was a little weird. But he couldn’t help but notice how happy and excited she seemed about the new place. The smile on her face radiating joy. It was almost infectious.
“It sounds like you like the place though. Even if you’re still getting used to it. And it does sound pretty nice. How’s your sister like it? Does she like it as much as it sounds like you do?”
❛❛ i think she misses having a big room, cause she gave me the big room. she’s happy though, we both are. she’s learning to cook, kinda gross right now. she still burns toast but.. i think she’s happier than i am. though maybe that’s just cause ... ❜❜
she pauses, bringing a hand up to rub at the back of her neck. it was weird , how often he could make her want to talk about anything and everything. things she wouldn’t even talk to phoebe about. though she figured that was...just him. he had a way to make others talk, a way to help them.
❛❛ i think she’s happier cause i’m finally happy. ❜❜

“Yeah, it’ll be fun. Promise.”
Honestly, he was glad her parents wouldn’t be around. Well, her dad at least. He still wasn’t the biggest fan of Big Bob. Not having to be civil around him was a relief. He didn’t need him ruining the night before they even got to the dance.
“Helga, you’ve seen the boarding house—it’s kinda a mess too. Don’t worry about it, I’m sure it’s fine.”
❛❛ its’ just, weird. ‘cause i haven’t had anyone over yet, cause we’re still gettin’ use to livin’ there and all that. it’s way better than my old house though. i got a bigger room ! it has a balcony and everything. you can even climb up to the roof of the building from it. it has a great view of the park, and the closet is like three times bigger . ❜❜
she’s actually smiling as she talks about her new room, she hadn’t gotten to do that yet. she hasn’t finished decorating but it already looks so nice to her and she loves it so much that she can’t help but be filled with joy.
Halloween themed starters !
❛ was that someone knocking? its not time for trick or treaters yet. ❜
❛ how can you watch movies like this? ❜
❛ stop predicting what’s going to happen next! you’re taking all the fun out of it. ❜
❛ you have to get real candy. we can’t be known as the house that handed out licorice. ❜
❛ if you scare me one more time, you’re going to end up getting hit. ❜
❛ you call that a costume? ❜
❛ it smells like a pumpkin threw up in here. ❜
❛ i brought a ouija board! ❜
❛ i don’t mess with spirits. ❜
❛ you’re just being paranoid. ❜
❛ can you go in first? i hate being the lead for haunted houses. ❜
❛ do you save all your black clothes just for fall? ❜
❛ i hate halloween. ❜
❛ halloween parties are only good for two things: dressing in lingerie and getting really, really drunk. ❜
❛ did you really eat all the candy? that was for the trick or treaters. ❜
❛ i feel like we’re being watched. ❜
❛ are you sure this place is abandoned? ❜
❛ we really shouldn’t be here. ❜
❛ why is everyone in horror movies stupid? ❜
❛ do not go in there, you’re going to get murdered! ❜
❛ i’m no expert, but usually there’s signs saying ‘do not enter’ for a good reason. ❜
❛ i’m not scared. ❜
❛ can’t we just sit on the couch, cuddle, watch scary movies, and eat halloween candy until we puke? ❜
❛ aren’t you a bit old to be trick or treating? ❜

Ever since Olga proposed the idea to her it all seemed like a big joke. Of course, it must have been, right? Yet, here she was. The suitcase between her feet was real. As Helga lifted her eyes to the barren apartment, the music was too loud to not face. Leaving home - finally, was real, too.
It left much unable to be spoken. Funny, right? Helga Pataki at a loss for words? Mustering up some semblance to normality, Helga brushed a few somethings off her tongue.
“Well, glad we aren’t throwing bags down for nothing.” While little was to be expected regarding an actual change in her childhood development, Helga knew how she was treated wasn’t normal or good. Despite the wide opportunity for a Hallmark change of heart, Helga was still… Helga. Her defenses, quite unintentionally, were still up and in full effect. It’s all she knew.
Though, as she treaded into the empty space and set her bag down on the floor, something inside felt different.
she only smiles at the reaction , she knew it wasn’t going to be something easy . to get her little sister to finally open up about .. everything that went on at home. it hadn’t been easy for her ( even if what they went through was different ) . she just had to have hope that getting her away from that house would allow her to open up more. get help.
live normally.
❛❛ come on. let’s go see your room shall we? it’s not going to be as big as the one back home , but i hope you’ll like it . i gave you the bigger closet, and it has a very beautiful view of the park across the street. you can decorate it again, once we get the tools to hang up whatever you have . ❜❜
@old-betsy
❛❛ things are going to be different now, helga . i promise. ❜❜
olga smiled softly towards her baby sister , finally she had a job long enough to afford a apartment. they saw her as being able to take care of her. it didn’t take much talking to their parents to get them to agree to let helga stay with her
exactly what she wanted.
now hopefully she could give her sister everything she needed in life.
look.
im just sayin’
i might, add olga. to this blog, as a side-muse
w/o icons bc im to lazy to go in and icon her
but.....
what do y’all think...

“Once she gets wind of that threat I’m sure she’ll be on her best behavior.”
Arnold liked that about Helga, she didn’t let anyone push her around. Not even the most popular girl in their grade. Other people might fear what that would do to their reputations, but not her. She simply didn’t care what anyone thought of her. A quality like that was quite admirable.
“I don’t mind any of that. I mean, it’s part of the dance experience, right? And it could be fun, messing with your sister. But if you’d rather, you can just meet me at my house? I can’t promise my house will be any less crazy though.”
❛❛ i mean if you want too, i guess i don’t mind that much. it’s not like my parents will be there since i stay with olga at her new apartment now. ❜❜
she really needs to get use to the idea of inviting people over to her home. she didn’t have to worry anymore about them seeing her parents. she was .. actually happy with her sister. sure , it wasn’t perfect but it allowed her to bring more people over.
why not let arnold be the first?
❛❛ just -- it’s not, perfect yeah? you know. i mean she’s still in college, and working as a sub teacher, so it’s kiiiiiiinda a mess . ❜❜
I need a slow motion video right now.
TEEN HEADCANONS 2/???
olga actually ends up moving back home time helga turns fourteen year’s old and begins to raise her . they get alot closer during their teen years , helga realizing that her parents were just as bad to olga as they were to her, only in a more overbearing way that caused the adult to try and be perfect .
time helga turns sixteen , she moves in with her sister into a apartment in the city . it’s a safer enviroment for her && allows her to get the help she needs and have that constant person in her life that she knows will forever care about her .
shcrtman
“Really? That solves the dress problem.”
Knowing Helga had a closet full of dresses she never wore was weird. But what was weirder was that she was willing to not only wear one, but be seen in it just so he didn’t have to go to the dance alone.
“Yeah well, it doesn’t help that people like Rhonda and all her friends are always watching all the other couples. You know, trying to figure out who is actually a couple, or whatever they’re looking for.”
❛❛ yeah well if she tries that on me , i’m going to threaten one of her designer dresses . or maybe just hide a left shoe . ❜❜
she ,, hates admiting that there’s already a big chance that the boy she’s had a crush on since elementary didn’t feel the same way. of course she’s never really asked , she’s never really hinted to him that she liked him but she was to terrified of the rejection .
❛❛ so uhm ,,, yeah . guess this is a thing huh? i’d say you could pick me up at my house but you’d have to deal with olga being the ah-mazing older sister she is . which would mean constant pictures and horrible teasing . ❜❜
Your rules page isn't coming up for me?
i. forgot that i actually need to make those pages lmao sorry about that . i made the theme and then got distracted by spla/toon and never went back to finish my rules or about fdijosalsak
ARNOLD
“Yeah… I figured.”
He also figured Gerald wouldn’t be too thrilled with the idea anyway. Besides, it was dangerously close to being seriously desperate. He didn’t want everyone knowing he was pathetic enough to take his best friend’s sister to a dance.
“What? You’d really go with me? You’d have to get a dress and uncomfortable shoes you’d hate… and dance to lame music among all our fellow fool peers… with me…”
He stopped himself. He wasn’t trying to talk her out of it—he just, it was a huge, generous offer. Though he didn’t hate the idea of going with her, at least he knew they’d probably have fun laughing at the awkward lameness of it all.
❛❛ as much as i’d love to say , i had no dresses . olga buys me one like everytime she comes home. so i have about ten dresses that i’ll never wear otherwise so i might as well get some use out of them . ❜❜
she didn’t despise dresses , not her favorite form of fashion since most of the ones olga brought home for her were glittery and fluffy , but. if it was something that would make him happy she’d wear them . it would probably make her sisters day as well seeing a photo of her little sister dressed up like some type of princess .
❛❛ ‘sides it’s not awkward unless it’s a date . the only reason dances are so awkward are because couples don’t know how to be so close to each other . ❜❜
ARNOLD
Helga was right, they were fools. Her plans sounded much more fun than dressing up in stuffy clothes and dancing to cheesy music awkwardly. All while worrying about whether they were impressing their dates. He seriously wished he hadn’t promised Gerald he would go. Now if they all just had a huge movie marathon together instead, he’d be there in an instant.
“Everyone you can think of— Rhonda, Lila, Nadine, Patty, Sheena…I even took a shot and asked a couple older girls. They all have dates already. At least that’s what they told me. You think Gerald’s sister looks old enough that nobody would know she was younger than us?”
wow , she thought if anyone could get a date when he needed one it would be him . he was the sweetest boy she knew && everyone seemed to adore him . maybe that didn’t mean ‘ boyfriend material ‘ though .
❛❛ pretty sure they’d notice , ❜❜
she rubs the back of her neck , thinking over her next words carefully so she wouldn’t sound like she wanted to go . she was just being a friend . friends could go to dances together , right ?
❛❛ if you really want to go -- i could go with you ? i mean i’m no lila but if it’s important to you . i can postpone my movie marathon for next weekend or something . ❜❜
ARNOLD
“You say stupid dance, everyone else says social event of the year. And stressing over finding a dress is a little different than stressing over finding a date. It’s much easier to find a dress.”
Normally Arnold didn’t place importance on social events or social status. He cared more about having fun with his friends. But Gerald had gotten into his head. And somehow convinced him he had to find a date to this dance. Honestly, Arnold thought it would be more fun going alone.
❛❛ hint the reason i’m not going .no one wants to take helga g pataki to some dance . so instead i will be at home having a halloween movie marathon while the rest of you fools are slow dancing to can you feel the love tonight . ❜❜
now don’t get her wrong , she’d love to go . the idea of having a night out with free food , good music , and dancing with her friends was always fun . though now they were high schoolers . everyone was focused on dates and first kisses and well ,,, she couldn’t really join in on that .
❛❛ who’ve you asked so far ? ❜❜
