He's hoping she'll show up a lot more than he cares to admit, but he's careful to keep his expectations low. After all, there's surely some sort of doctor-y code that prevents them from interacting with patients anywhere other than a medical environment, and besides, if a strange man invited his sister out to a pub after work, he hopes she'd say no. But, seeing as he isn't a murderer or a rapist, he doesn't think he gives off the creepy stay away vibes that they tend to. His mates left just under ten minutes ago, and as he checks his watch, he can see that in five minutes her shift ends. He'll see then what her decision amounted to, but god, he hopes she made one that ends with her sitting next to him, sipping a drink he bought for her.

The patient’s face clears up a little when Jade announces her diagnosis. Her hand on his chest, their eyes locked, they stand in complete silence for what seems like minutes. Suddenly, quick movements, she pulls off the rubber glove to shake his hand. Before she can even think about it, she blurts out her first name and her first name alone. “Jade,” she smiles, then laughing away the fact that she introduced herself so informally. Patients never had this effect on her, but what was it with this one? Their hands unclasp and she takes a step back, not wanting to break any of the rules. “You’ll need steroids and I can give you a lotion for the rash,” Jade states, going back to business. She gets her prescription pad from her pocket and scribbles something down, she then turns around and walks away from Aaron, to a cupboard from which she gets a tube of lotion. She opens it and wants to hand it to him to rub it on his chest, but realizes it’d be hard to cover all of the rash himself properly. She doesn’t hand the tube to him but puts some lotion on her bare hand and puts the tube away. She rubs the lotion between her hands to warm it up a little and then cautiously starts rubbing it on the rash, making sure not to miss anything. She’s close to him now and she can smell his cologne, he smells good. She started at his lower stomach and now reaches his neck, having to look him in the eyes as she does so. She smiles apologetically as she can see he is in a lot of pain.

They shake on it, her small warm hand in his large one. "Jade." He grins in response. "Pretty name for a pretty lady." he remarks, never one to shy away from an opportunity to flatter a lady, especially one as beautiful as the one standing before him. For a moment, there's something in her face that mirrors his own, but it quickly changes to the business-like mask she started off with. He's disappointed, but he takes the prescription, intending to get it filled at the pharmacy on his way out. Then she takes out some lotion, and instead of handing it to him as expected, she does it herself. He's surprised, but not unpleasantly. The pleasure of having her hands on him far outweighs any discomfort he feels. When she's finished, he puts his shirt back on, sliding one hand into a pocket. "So, I'm okay, then?" he clarifies. Then he grins. "Seems like a cause for celebration if ever I saw one. Listen. I'm meeting a mate at the bar across the street now for an hour or so, but if you want to come see me when you're finished your shift, I'd be honoured." He's not usually this forward, but on this girl he's willing to take a chance.

Jade notices how her patient tries to laugh the rash away and smiles to herself. She looks into his eyes and then lets her gaze wander to his red chest. “Oh, that looks nasty,” she mumbles, pulling a painful face to show sympathy. As she puts her hand on his chest, he gets a similar facial expression. “Sorry,” she excuses herself, not wanting to hurt this wonderful man. Jade examines the rash and identifies it. “It looks like shingles, but we’ll need a test to confirm. Have you ever had chicken pox?” she asks, getting to the point without any further flirtations. She notices he doesn’t make move to put his shirt back on and takes the opportunity to look at the rash closely once more, making sure she isn’t diagnosing him wrong. She lets her hands go over it with a soft touch while they lock gaze once more.

He lets out a sigh of relief. Shingles. The painful rash covering the majority is shingles. He'd been expecting the worst- images of tombstones with his name on them had been plagueing him for a while now, before he'd finally worked up the courage to visit the hospital. Shingles he could deal with, especially if it meant spending more time with this lovely young doctor. Her hands run over him once more, and he keeps her gaze. There's a strand of her hanging in the middle of her face, and he feels this inexplicable urge to tuck it behind her ear. Suddenly, he realises she doesn't even known his name. "Aaron Fitzgerald." he says, reaching out his hand to shake.

Jade was just wandering around the hospital when she heard a young, not unattractive man call for help. She had immediately rushed up to him and taken him to an exam room. Without having to say a word and without any warning, the guy takes off his shirt, taking Jade by surprise. His skin has a nasty rash, bright red blisters cover his abs. Jade steps a little closer, taking rubber gloves from a cart near her and putting them on. She sticks out her warm hand to feel the blisters. “Does this hurt?” she asks, looking him straight into his intense eyes.

He presents the rather unpleasant rash with a winning smile, hoping to save whatever dignity he has left in front of the pretty doctor. For some reason, he wants to impress her, although it's not easy, considering the current state of his chest. The window is open, a cold breeze coming through, and he's torn between appreciating the warmth of her soft hand and flinching from the pain inflicted by it. He's distinctly aware of how close she is, and how blue her eyes are.  "Yes." he says, with a strained smile, because it stings like hell. Still, he doesn't break eye contact, or put his shirt back on.

When he arrived at the O.R. less than twenty minutes ago, he'd been expecting a male doctor to check him out. He can't say he's disappointed by the blonde sorting him out instead, and her professional manner puts him immediately at ease, which he's thankful for. His problem isn't exactly something he enjoys sharing. Following her into an exam room, he first checks that the door is closed firmly, before removing his shirt, revealing a cluster of unsightly red blisters forming a pattern on his skin. There's a pause and he smiles weakly. "So, what's the diagnosis, doctor?"

Infected [] Self Para

He could have gotten checked out in the hospital in New Jersey, sure, but Aaron had always been a firm believer in multi-tasking, and he'd been meaning to stop by Seattle for a while now to see how Jo was doing. He was pretty sure she wouldn't want to see him, but he had to try. They hadn't exactly parted on the best of terms, but now that he'd finally got his act together and cleaned himself up, maybe she'd be able to see his side. More than anything, he regretted pushing her away like that, so when he'd heard that she'd become a doctor in Seattle and this weird rash had started, he'd decided to kill two birds with one stone. 

It was why he found himself in the ER of Seattle Grace on a Sunday afternoon, when he would rather have been anywhere else.
