My new book “Amarillo Flights”is now available on Amazon! The very supportive and creative group bought a bunch of books before I even finished setting up! The gallery was decorated for Christmas and I was surrounded by wonderful artwork! The exhibit, “Amarillo Flights: Aerial Views of Llano Estacado Country,” will premiere at Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon, Texas. The one-person exhibit will showcase Paul Chaplo's personal aerial photography of the high plains of the Llano Estacado, with a focus on the rugged escarpments and breaks in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The large format color aerial images are from Chaplo's upcoming book by the same title. The photographs reveal the rugged natural beauty of the landscape and many historic sites such as Horsehead Crossing (where you will see the traces of the old trails!), Adobe Walls Battlefield, Fort Bascom site, Chavez City ruins, and the top of Landergin Mesa—to name a few of the many that will fill the Mary E. The The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum (PPHM) will premier Paul Chaplo's fine art aerial landscape photography exhibition “Amarillo Flights” through November 1, 2020. The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, near Amarillo, is the largest history museum in Texas (now that’s big!). PPHM is home to a major collection of Western Art. The show features aerial photography of the Llano Estacado and Canadian River valley including many historic sites. PPHM will also host the launch of Paul Chaplo’s upcoming book (by the same title), planned for release by Texas A&M University Press for Fall of 2020. Chaplo is a Texas photographer. This is his second book with Texas A&M University Press. The "Amarillo Flights" book is part of The American Wests Series at WTAMU. The exhibition is sponsored by Red River Paper.
Paul Chaplo delivering the manuscript for “Amarillo Flights: Aerial Views of Big Bend Country” (working title) to Texas A&M University Press in College Station, Texas. The book features over a hundred fine art color aerial photographs of the landscape of the Llano Estacado region including many historic sites such as Horsehead Crossing on the Pecos River.
The book will be Paul Chaplo’s second purblication with TAMU Press and will be paired with a traveling exhibit select large-scale framed photographs printed on appropriately named “Palo Duro” paper from Red River Paper in Dallas, Texas.
In addition to his fine art landscape photography, Paul Chaplo is an aerial and oilfield photographer who works in the Dallas area and in the Permian Basin oil and gas fields near Midland - Odessa, Texas and New Mexico around Carlsbad, New Mexico. His commercial work can be seen at www.oilpics.com

The upcoming new book Amarillo Flights: Aerial Views of Llano Estacado Country by Paul Chaplo will be paired with a traveling exhibition. The photographer - author Chaplo currently has two venues for exhibition, book signings, and author's talks.
The book and traveling exhibition will feature large color aerial photographs of the Llano Estacado area of Texas and Eastern New Mexico. The book will be published by Texas A&M University Press in College Station, Texas. The exhibition images will be printed on beautiful Palo Duro paper from Red River Paper in Dallas, Texas.
Paul Chaplo is an oil and gas photographer who works in the Permian Basin oilfield from Midland - Odessa Texas to Pecos and in Eastern New Mexico around Carlsbad, NM. His upcoming book will be the second book of Paul Chaplo's photography published by Texas A&M University Press, College Station, Texas. Paul has a terminal master's degree in photography from RIT.
