Bejeweled surfaces. This year I've been making crystal formations and casting them as ceramic stone sculptural relief panels., getting larger and larger from 15 " tiles to 34" panels

Project development from spiral to single tile and multi panel cast crystal matrices.

I'd love to work with architects and interior designers to create custom permanent installations on architectural projects where unique surface design and lighting makes all the difference.

Hexagram series.

Ongoing series exploring the infinite possibilities of shifting atmosphere and light. The influence of our emotions become as visible as the shift between day and light, darkness and night. The Hexagon enables this infinite opportunity for the spectrum to express itself playfully. Multi dimensional reality converges in a process using limestone, marble dust, quartz, mica as the mineral rich ground mixed with pure pigment. These ancient materials are the building blocks of our planet, our environment, our architecture and civilization- particles of dust reconstituted in form to capture the essence of structure and light. Here in these deep fields of space, the imagination is free to discover and make form from the formless, finding the spark of mind over matter.  Epiphanies may be found as we investigate 'world building', discovering visions within the wash and meaning  from the void.  We may even access 'future knowledge' -from our dreams.  In these mirrors of an intimate cosmos we are allowed to see ourselves as we truly are - like a cloud that becomes a rock - Pure Energy- Always moving, Always still. Turbulent waves of light - cloaked by atmospheric particles, shimmer in space when seen from afar- like a distant star, and time has left traces of itself of a former age, now obscured as partial fossil.  Here we are, finding ourselves in an ever present past and future space time - discovering that we too are part of the elemental cycle of light in mind and matter...

Light bled across the spectrum, lost and swimming in color,  vision reached beyond the edges of object - into formless tides, where desert space and the fires of earth meet - time- and form emerges.

The first time I saw one of Paul Seftel’s paintings I was instantly  pulled in from the immense amount of detail and texture. You begin to feel the magnetism realizing there is energy breathing within these paintings.   Natural designs that in some way captures the creation of life and giving you an understanding of how the world was formed.  I had the amazing privilege of documenting Paul for several months while he brought to life some ofthese unique wonders.

Witnessing layer upon layer of minerals, stones, and pigments washing over one another was like observing the planets water cycle in action.  By simply tilting the canvas, Paul uses gravity to help blend and erode the dozens of layers together over the period of sometimes months. Rocks, rivers, lakes, canyons, mountains, formations, earths, skies, galaxies, and energy is in each of these works.  As you move around the painting new hues of color and designs begin to reveal themselves, the shifting light glimmers off of the glossy stone minerals.  It is a painting that will be ever changing.  I’ve never seen anything like it.

'Spectral Journey of a Dragonfly' 10ft x 3ft, pigment, minerals and polymer on wood. A Journey around the Sun. the light that shimmers across the wings of this 10ft piece cannot really be photographed, ever shifting with the way you move and see- as with the nature of perception and reality. The most illusive and magical of colors and presences are present, but remain invisible, only to be experienced by direct observation. its a prismatic field, a depth and ocean where worlds form and disappear. All consuming color, light and darkness. The more you look, the more you see.
