The first layer is familiar; utilitarian infrastructure, bulkheads, handholds for movement in low-G. On the surface the interior makes sense. It's when you look closer that things begin to stand out. Question for the people. Pilots specifically. Good ones (lancer, kuriasser, whatever you call yourself). I don't care about your opinion if you suck shit. [Do you have a favorite pilot?] Like, that you enjoy watching. Or thinking about. Maybe model yourself after. Someone you admire, you know, you know. There's some work that goes into finding them but I really, really, really like watching unlisted, no commentary crisis footage that features STARSLAYER. That's a big go to when I'm bored and need something in the background while I work on Midori or cook for the guys. I also really like the courtroom evidence video of the "Sicario" Blackbeard from that one Station raid (I replay the part in the middle where he shreds three frames in two seconds a lot). I guess that's more than one but I think they're so cool and they're my favorites. Who's yours?

I know firsthand that being a boarding pilot is a difficult job with a shockingly high casualty rate. I know that really limits the candidate pool. But still!
And local commanders are no help. To them it's just a minor disciplinary issue. And I get it. We aren't regular military, we aren't HA, we let our people be people. But sometimes they're shit people doing shit things, and when they do shit things everyone complains to the fucking PR account! Like we can do anything but shove another ticket into the system that will just get ignored.
It's cheaper and easier to make us handle the complaints than it is to actually enforce discipline and get these assholes some badly needed therapy.
And the worst thing is, we have to fucking defend these pieces of shit! Because admitting they're pieces of shit would "hurt the brand".
Don't get me wrong, I love IPS-N. They set me and my future family up pretty much for life, even when it was clear I probably wasn't going to be piloting again. They could have kicked me to the curb with a severance package and a wave goodbye, but instead they set me up with a cushy remote PR job, extremely generous medical care, and a nice apartment on Lighthouse Station. I literally owe them everything.
But there are days I'm reminded that they're very much a corporation.

Oh they're letting us play with the advanced ammunition for this.
Jadwiga is packing miniaturized active-spectrum jamming buckshot and witchfire rounds (imagine hellfire rounds but they burn hotter). I've got Fireweb Missiles and Damocles Rockets. Redeye is packing sabot rounds made from materials I'm pretty sure are only found in Aunist space. Most of what Foxglove is packing is not just SSC top shelf, its SSC top shelf for government clients.
I sincerely hope this is complete overkill.
