so Eva is a princess in a universe where women have extremely little power or influence; she’s essentially a pawn for her fathers political gains. She’s set to be married to some guy she hasn’t even met, who is 17 years older than her (she is 15), and whose previous two wives died under mysterious circumstances. She escapes later and has a dramatic journey and shit whatever. Anyway. The white haired one is her faithful lady in waiting and bodyguard. Eva chose to only have her around rather than a group of ladies in waiting. Whitey doesn’t mind, she finds it sweet, but after close to 7 years taking care of her basically by herself has been difficult (she is 17). She encourages Eva to take on more ladies in waiting she can trust before marriage, as her soon to be husband will certainly force her to have more, and will likely try to handpick his own to spy on her.
so anyway, Eva and whitey are gay but don’t really know it yet. :3
also in this universe transgender people are accepted and seen as smth similar to vitiligo or albinism, just an odd/cool phenomenon that happens sometimes. gays aren’t shunned but gay marriage isn’t a thing because of how marriage works in universe. Commoners dont get married, they just move in together, and marriages between royalties are meant as a political move, so having children and binding the contract is vital.
