Demo video of the stability of the DJI Phantom Vision 2+ even when in strong winds along the beach. Was a beautiful sunny day with lots of wave action. Here’s a solid and secure way to mount an iPad to a DJI Phantom 2 controller we found on a forum (apologies, lost the link). Basically what you do is combine together an iPad mini case with builtin tripod mount (Amazon Link), with a mini ball head (Amazon Link), and part of an camera mount bike kit (Amazon Link).

The potentially non-obvious part is what you do with the bike mount. With it, the ball movement it has is the same size as the metal ball that comes with the Phantom controller. So unscrew the nut and pop off the bike handle bar clamp and it discard for a later project of some kind. Then unscrew the iPhone mount’s nut from your controller and pop off the clip. Next slip the harvested black lock nut over the ball. Now take the plastic ball receiver you plucked from the bike mount and pop it on the metal ball from the controller. Tighten the nut and the rest should be obvious.

Open Hack Sunnyvale 2013. It uses five Parrot AR Drone quadcopters all synced to an app we built using NodeCopter and NodeJS. The hack controls all five drones in a "fleet" via hand motions using a LeapMotion controller while displaying their video feeds up on a projected screen. The idea for this hack came from the infamous hack king, davglass!
