562: Don’t blame Rendon, Blame Jerry Brown!
By PDSMM President Dorothy Reik
Please read. forward widely if you dare.
“Don’t you dare let that bill hit my desk” - that was Jerry Brown’s warning to Kevin De Leon but De Leon didn’t blink. "Let the 562 veto be his legacy" KDL said. He got SB562 through the Senate and handed it off to Anthony Rendon. Rendon did blink and he did so just as the details of the Trump"care" tax giveaway were hitting. So don’t call Rendon as the article I sent yesterday suggests - call Jerry Brown! If you have a fax, use it!
Phone: (916) 445-2841 Fax: (916) 558-3160
Jerry Brown will say he does not know how single payer is financed. That is a LIE. Here is the proof - his very cogent explanation during his 1992 presidential run. I sent it yesterday but here it is again:
https://theintercept.com/2017/06/23/california-gov-jerry-brown-thinks-single-payer-cant-work-watch-presidential-candidate-jerry-brown-disagree/
This is what Brown does. He threatens not only to veto the bill in question but other vital bills that legislators have been working on for who knows how long! He did the same thing on fracking and left Fran Pavley to write the one bill he would sign as protestors vilified her on line and protested at her office. Now they are even attacking Eric Bauman who immediately protested Rendon’s action. Did you know there are Ellis-bots trolling Eric 24/7?
I have to admit - I have never been a fan of Jerry Brown - not since he suggested using holograms to integrate schools instead of real kids. Appearance is everything. But look at Brown - I cannot find any picture of him without a frown - let alone with a smile. He eyes stare angrily, the light bouncing off his bald head blinds you. It’s all hard surfaces. He spits out his words like bullets from a gun. Great when the the bullets are aimed at Trump - but not so good when they are aimed at us - at our wishes and dreams. Don’t fund that program - save the money for a rainy day - but when it rains then we need to keep saving because “IT’S RAINING!”. And for god’s sake don’t ban fracking! THOSE OIL COMPANIES ARE FUNDING ME! (Ask Hilary Crosby!)
Yes - it’s good that Brown is working on keeping California safe from the other climate outlaws but that does not mean we have to go along with this outrageous attack on SB562. We have to let him know that WE KNOW who is behind the “shelving” of 562 and it is NOT Rendon. We don’t know what Brown threatened to do to him if he “lets that bill hit” his desk but you can be sure it included destroying his political career.

Statement from California Democratic Party Chair Eric C. Bauman On Announcement That SB 562 Will Be Held in Rules Committee
Los Angeles—California Democratic Party Chair Eric C. Bauman released the following statement in reaction to the announcement that SB 562—the single-payer, Medicare-for-all legislation recently passed by the State Senate—will be held in the Assembly Rules Committee: "Today’s announcement that the Assembly will not be moving forward on single-payer, Medicare-for-All healthcare for California at this time is an unambiguous disappointment for all of us who believe that healthcare is a right for every Californian. We understand that SB 562 is a work in progress, but we believe it should keep moving forward, especially in light of the widespread suffering that will occur if Trump and Congressional Republicans succeed in passing their cold-blooded, morally bankrupt so-called healthcare legislation. I call upon our Legislative Leaders to work together to find appropriate and acceptable solutions to enable SB 562 to advance as soon as possible. Hundreds of thousands of people in California stand to lose their health insurance if Trumpcare 3.0 is signed into law. Countless Democrats passionately believe that Medicare-for-all healthcare is a bedrock principle of the Democratic Party, and I stand with them. Our message to our Legislative Leaders is clear: SB 562 must be given the chance to succeed.”
For hours on end Twitter quite rightfully pulverized the obnoxious bully & faux journalist Michael Tracey. Did he ever have any credibility? IF he had any he has thoroughly destroyed it all by himself. Shame on Tracey for attacking Maxine Waters.
SB57 Aliso Canyon urgent action needed TODAY Tuesday,March 21, 2017 especially in Los Angeles & San Diego - help stop pay to play politics
Two calls to make today to get SB57 a vote. The banksters may own DC but the oil companies own Sacramento! Henry Stern is fighting them and he needs our help.
From Climate Hawks Vote:
As you may recall, SB57 is the urgency measure requiring Aliso Canyon, home of the largest methane leak since the last dinosaurs died, stay closed until the root cause of the leak is ascertained. The roadblocks are San Diego Gas & Electric (aka Sempra) and its state Senator and stenographer, Ben Hueso (D-SD-40). The natgas industry sees SB57 as the beginning of the end for its industry.... and, as a climate advocate, I can't disagree. The bill was supposed to get a vote Tuesday, March 21 (tomorrow!) in the Energy & Utilities Committee, with some poison pill amendments written by Hueso, but actually written by SoCal Gas, owned by Sempra. We've called enough state senators that we think we may have the votes to pass the bill without the poison pill amendments. In revenge, Hueso is now threatening to pull the bill entirely - no hearing at all. Please call Ben Hueso's office Tuesday morning and demand a hearing on the bill. He is at 916 651 4040. Please also call Senate Pro Tem Kevin DeLeon at 916 651 4024 and demand that he move the bill. A dozen or so Porter Ranch activists are in Sacramento right now and may do a press conference tomorrow morning. If you see anything, amplification on social media would be appreciated. Again, the talking points are very simple. Call, say that you support SB57 as written by Henry Stern, do not want to see any amendments, and want the bill to be heard. Thanks. And after the dust on this settles, maybe someone can explain to me how Ben Hueso represents the people of his district and deserves to stay in office.
Remember when Trump said he wasn't going to take a salary? He just accepted his second paycheck. Remember when he said Mexico was going to pay for the wall? He has asked Congress to appropriate the $25 billion of taxpayer money to cover costs. Remember when he said he wasn't going to go on vacation or play golf? 5 of the last 7 weekends he went on vacation and played golf, costing taxpayers $11.1 million. Remember when he said he was going to use American steel to build these dangerous pipelines? Russian steel arrived last week for the Keystone Pipeline XL. Remember when he said he wasn't going to cut social security and Medicare? The Republican bill does just this. Remember when he said that nobody on his campaign had any communications with the Russian government? 7 of his people have now admitted they spoke and/or met with Russian officials, after they lied and got caught. Remember when he said he was going to divest from his businesses? Changed his mind. Remember when he said he was going to release his tax returns? Changed his mind. Remember when he said he was going to drain the swamp of Washington insiders? His cabinet is filled with lobbyists, oil and Wall Street executives. Remember when he said he would defeat ISIS in 30 days? He doesn't have a plan. Remember when he said that the Obamacare replacement would cover more people at lower cost? The AHCA that the GOP and 45 are now pushing; they now admit will cover fewer people at a higher cost. If you voted for him, please hold him accountable to what he promised you - for all of our sakes. Feel free to copy and paste, as we have.

San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera filed a federal lawsuit against President Trump Tuesday morning, calling his executive order that could withhold some federal funding from sanctuary cities unconstitutional. San Francisco is one of more than 300 sanctuary cities around the country — including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles — that restrict cooperating with federal immigration officials under certain circumstances. Trump’s executive order, signed on Jan. 25., blocks federal grants to sanctuary cities and revives the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s controversial Secure Communities program phased out under President Obama.
