Browsing old text messages on her phone, Dawn reminisced the merry moments she had with her mother, friends, and special someone. Indeed, those were unforgettable. But since she started living alone after an accident parted her from her loved ones...

"Your pokemon is more than likely thinking the same thing, you know." He commented at its little actions towards the teen. With how much it seemed to attach itself to her, it was more than obvious it could tell the condition she was in — despite being a virtual creature.
His eyes rolled and soon enough he gave up with the idea of going outside to finish bathing his pokemon, the little things already having grown bored and ventured off to do their own thing. Shaking his head, he plopped onto the opposite side of the couch, his shoulders rolling up at her little question.
"You’re already here, so what’s it matter. I’m not going to throw you out to go and wind up dead."
She, too, rolled her eyes. Dawn probably loathes the attitude of this young man. Maybe because he looked irritating, or presumably for the reason that he's irritated with her.
"Yeah, thanks." she passively said.
"Can I ask you for one more thing?"
Although in doubt to ask such question, her nerves couldn't just fight against the dissatisfaction she's momentarily undergoing. Tapping her tiny fingers on her knees, she waited for a response.

He wasn’t completely out of the building, rather waiting by the door for her to leave first. Just because he had offered her to come and rest in his home, didn’t mean he trusted another person in here. He had goods that he kept stored away, after all.
Watching her as she spoke to her little pokemon, feeling rather bad that the little creature had chosen to worry over its trainer rather than to eat, but what could he do about that.
While she had began trying to stand up, it was already obvious to him that she was in no shape to be moving, which was something rare to be seen in this world — though was definitely capable of happening. He just never was moving enough, to see it happen. Either way, just as she was going down and falling, he was grabbing her wrist and tugging her towards him to keep her balance. Afterwards, he quickly ushered her back to the couch to sit.
"Just stay there and sit. You’re just going to get killed acting that way."
She managed to sit back on the couch and let out a deep sigh. She was thankful, in a way, for being caught and not letting her body slump again on the floor. "Relax, I'm not going to die." She tried to tell him.
Swinub, looking intensely on its trainer, tackled her on one arm.
"Aww!" Dawn yelled. What the hell is Swinub doing? Apparently, it's getting more worried about its trainer's condition. You know you're still weak, must be the thing Swinub was trying to say.
"Well..." her eyes lifted to look at the guy in front of her, "I guess I need a little more time to stay here in your house. Would that be..." she cleared her throat, "...alright?"

"Mm." Offering that simple sound as his answer, and a nod of his head to agree that yes, that had indeed been the case of their situation right now. If she hadn’t appeared from nowhere, he wouldn’t have had to put down his work of cleaning his pokemon up. But, that was Ethan’s destined fate with people.
The quick glance towards him, and then away had his brows raising, though other than that brow movement he didn’t have much of a reaction. Though, watching her try and get up and instantly leave was interesting, didn’t she come here in the first place to rest?
"No problem on my end. Have fun progressing." He stated, and got up as well — guess that bowl full of berries could go to his own pokemon. Two of which still needed baths, time to get on that. "Toto, Santa, we’re going back outside."
Dawn watched the trainer and his Pokemons walking back outside. Oh, she just fucked up. She forgot to thank the guy for the tiny help he voluntarily offered her did for her.
"We should leave, Swinub."
Dawn stoop up. Well, at least she tried to. But it seemed she hasn't fully recovered yet. Her legs were still shaking; and obliviously, she tripped and fell. "Damn!" she exclaimed.

Ah, there she was. Barely awake, but her eyes were open and she was talking. So he was correct, she really was just overly exhausted and ended up fainting. It’s a good thing that it had happened in the city, instead of out in the wild though.Â
Setting his cup down on the tray, he leaned back in his spot on the floor. Humming softly at her question, now what exactly had happened anyway?Â
"You fainted."
His shoulders shrugging as he spoke, there wasn’t much else to really tell her, aside from that.
"Oh, is that so?"Â She slowly shifted herself into a sitting position and cuddled Swinub for a moment. "Swinub is a such a sweet Pokemon," she told herself.
She abruptly looked around and realized that it was surely awkward to stay  where she's currently in with no distinct reason at all. She gazed at the guy who probably carried and brought her inside the room, contemplated him, and instantly looked away.
Dawn, carrying Swinub in her arms, tried to stand up. "I guess we should leave now."

With the pokemon laying down beside it’s trainer to keep an eye on her, Ethan wandered from the main room and ventured towards his kitchen area. He wasn’t in the room for very long, and by the time he was back in the opposite room there was a tray full of food and drinks with him.
Setting the tray down at the table, he took a bowl off that was full of cut up berries and set it on the ground for Swinub. Afterwards, he picked up one of the cups on the tray and began sipping at the warm drink.
"Wonder how long she’ll be asleep for.."
The Pokemon seemed to be very depressed because of its trainer's condition. It laid still beside her, watching over the unconscious lady. Swinub let out a heavy sigh and seemed to murmur something only dust can ever hear.
All of sudden, Dawn's eyes partially opened. Seeing the charming Pokemon on her right, watching over her like a sweet little angel, she painted a peachy smile on her face.
"What did just happen?"

The appearance of Swinub beside him, instead of his pokemon was shrugged off for the moment. Though it was cute, and he’d definitely give it some snacks later, the task at hand for Ethan right now was keeping an eye on this newcomer.
Which, luck would have had it, that just as she began making her way towards the door to his home, she would have fallen over and fell unconscious. His fists tightened for a moment in irritation, but his body was quick to move over to her side. Lifting her up from the ground, and he settled some of her body to be slung over his shoulder, the rest of it dangling down to carry her.Â
"Rex, Santa, Toto, c’mon lets go inside." Calling over to his pokemon, who all quickly came rumbling after him. He held the door open to make sure each one got inside of the building, including her Swinub — he’d come get his washtub and other items later — and headed inside the house himself.
Setting her down at his couch and making sure she wasn’t going to accidentally fall off if he left the room for a second, Ethan dubbed her to be mostly fine, aside from the exhaustion.
"Somehow an event like this isn’t surprising…"
Feeling over worried, Swinub hurriedly followed them and got inside the stranger's house. Misery can be seen in its eyes. The Pokemon moved quickly to check its trainer's condition. Anxiety was painted on its face.
For a second, it gave the man a tensed look. Swinub decided then to lay beside Dawn and kept an eye over her.

Spotting the Swinub run rather ecstatic towards his own pokemon, there was a moment of worry, but it was fleeting the moment he was able to see completely clear as to how exhausted it’s trainer was. How could someone have worked themselves so ragged when it would be so easy for someone to get rid of them, just like that.
"Yeah. What of it?"Â
He managed to get the words out, before he stopped to notice her looking over at his pokemon — which Toto and Santa were still hanging around the wash bucket. Taking in a deep breath, he put Rex on the ground, the Cyndaquil quickly joining the other pokemon.
"I’m.. Not big on visitors, but fine. Only cause if you keep going like that, you’re likely to end up dead." Despite his lacking enjoyment of other people, he wasn’t one to want every person to end up dead.
Swinub suddenly ran toward the stranger who probably owns the Pokemons and smiled at him, as if thanking him for doing its trainer a favor.
Dawn could feel that her arrival seems to displease the guy and his company. She's nearly about to back off then and just go away, for she thought that she's making trouble with the owner of the house. But she couldn't do such at this moment; she's too weary that her body can't take it any longer.
"Thanks." she whispered.
Walking to get inside the stranger's house, she unexpectedly stopped. Unconscious of what was just happening, her eyes automatically closed and her body collapsed on the ground.Â
Swinub panicked.Â

Giving Rex his bath didn’t take too long, once he was properly scrubbed there really wasn’t much else he needed. Dipping the rag in the water one more time, Ethan squeezed any soap out of it and ran it over any soapy spots on his pokemon to finish him off. After that, Rex was settled back on the ground with a squeaky clean shine to him.
The one thing the raven haired male didn’t expect to happen was for Rex to go bounding off the moment he was let go of, alerted by a person coming close to their home from in the distance. With his blue eyes following after the little creature, he was able to realize what it was Rex was attempting to do. His pokemon understood Ethan’s trust issues, and Cyndaquil was readying himself in an attack position, awaiting an order from his trainer.
"Shit.. Why do people always come over here.."
Hesitating for a moment, Ethan thought it over and sadly, letting Rex ward off any visitors wasn’t going to work. He didn’t want to get into any unnecessary battles, after all. So, here he was wandering over to pick up his pokemon, his brow raising at the girl who was still making her way over towards his home, and it was obvious she looked over-exhausted. What, had she not slept since the deathwish was announced?
"Do you need help?" He called out, though his question was less than favorable to have asked, what with his tone sounding rather frustrated.
Swinub swiftly ran past Dawn, enthusiastically jumping as it cheerfully greeted all the Pokemon present. A few seconds later, Dawn, ever exhausted, showed up. She wasn't in a pleasant mood at all.
"Are you the owner of the house?" she nonchalantly asked the trainer standing a few inches before her. Her eyes abruptly moved to the Pokemons surrounding the stranger. And for once, she thought, "Woah... What are they actually doing?"
"Well, I was just thinking I could have a little stay at your shelter. You see, I've been walking for hours, and I am extremely tired."
I'd like some coffee right now...

Just outside of the home he obtained for himself in Ecruteak, Ethan had a little washtub out filled with water and soap. His pokemon had been playing with the wild ones in the area for so long, that they’d gotten themselves all dirty, and it was due time for a bath.
"Shall we clean you all up, Rex?" He hummed, smiling down at the little Cyndaquil who was more than alright with this treatment — even though he was so careful with other people, pokemon were different, and he was able to be more himself around them. Rex in specific, due to having a strong bond with him.
Grabbing a rag, the raven dipped it into the soapy water and began running it along Rex’s body, cleaning any dirt and grime off of his small body. His Togepi, Toto, and Delibird, Santa, stood in the background watching somewhat curiously.
Walking a little mile with Swinub to get to the grocery store, Dawn's legs already seem quite weary. And on taking more steps, they were suddenly shaking until she unconsciously mishandled herself and slumped down on the ground. That damn grocery store, why so far away? she thought, really annoyed.
She abruptly noticed a small house a few meters away to her right. Having absolutely no choice, she stood up and decided to have a brief stay there.
