Adaptation LA
Happy Easter, Dolls!
I wanted to share something with y'all that people comment on everyday, and I can't even take credit for it! A friend of mine has the sweetest iPhone case. I had never seen anything like it before and I loved it so much I ordered it immediately! It's from a company called, "Adaptation LA" and they make cases and skins for the iPhone 4, 5, iPad, and iPad Mini.
Adaptation LA allows you to choose a "combo" which is a pre-determined color combo or mix and match the colors and make your own skin, and the coolest part is that they're all glow-in-the-dark, which makes finding your phone in your purse extra easy!
The pieces for a full skin include two front gels, a full back gel, a little gel button, and the side stickers. It's really, really important to know that these gels provide minimal protection against drops, so if you're a butterfingers, be SUPER careful with your phone because it will totally dent and nick at the corners where the thin sticker does nothing to protect them. The gels are a little bit thicker and puffy, so they do provide good scratch protection for the screen. I still keep my Zagg cover on the front and stick the gels right over it!
Here's the exact color combo I ordered, and I'm really happy with it! My only complaint is that while the white gels (which are the most glowey) hold the glow for a long time, they look a slightly greenish indoors.
You can order them at www.adaptationla.com and I think they're $35 each! Have a great week everyone! xo
Neon Bras
Maybe it's my mini-rebellion against wearing cobalt blue scrubs all day, every day, but my new obsession is super brightly colored bras underneath t-shirts and racer backs. I realize this goes against everything my mother taught me about flaunting my undergarments (I love you, Mom!), but I think it's the cutest trend for spring & summer!
Also, the Victoria's Secret catalogue arrived last week and had the cutest little outfit on the cover! So I promptly ordered! The tanks and the stretch lace bralettes are on sale right now, so get on it, gals!
I love how girly my bathroom counters are!

"My lipgloss be poppin'"
For the level of obsession I have with makeup, it's mind-blowing how afraid of lip color I am! I buy pretty lipsticks and glosses, but I don't really wear them! I bring them to school, and every now and then, whip one out of my bag, BARELY apply it, and throw it back into the bag. One day, my friend, Bri, LITERALLY yelled at me through clenched teeth, "put more onnnnnn. You're driving me nuts. You always just put nothing on, smoosh your lips together like you did something when you haven't done ANYthing." She is the lipgloss queeeeeen, and made me gop a TON of lipgloss on, and everyone was like, "Brittany, that's SO much better!!!!!" Go figure.
I've been scared because I have thinner lips and I always thought that bright lip color will draw attention to the fact that they're not super full, but I was so wrong! Lip plumper actually does work! I'm so obsessed with lipgloss now that I buy 3 at a time and apply it way too often ;)
These aren't the best pictures. I quickly took them five minutes ago, but they prove that lips look way better with a little color and shine!
Headed for Splitsville
I am fascinated by split ends. It's AMAZING that one teeny-tiny skinny strand of hair can somehow split into even tinier pieces! Long hair, short hair, processed, virgin... doesn't matter. Split ends happen to ALL of us. And here's what they look like close up!
Disgusting. and the thing that annoys me the most is that SOOOO many companies and products promise to mend these little annoyances! Ummm... hello? There's no way to mend these permanently! Sure you can gloss them over for the day and make your hair look healthier, but the only way to really get rid of 'em is to cut them all off!
However, there are a few things I try to do so avoid getting them in the first place. The first is to tie your hair back if your hair is going to be flapping in the wind. So running, boating, letting it whip around while driving in a convertible, etc. Just think of what an old flag looks like that's been flying too long! This applies to blowdrying too, so obvi avoid blowdrying as much as you can.
Also, There is NO NEED to shampoo anything but your roots. All that's gonna do is dry out the entire length of your hair. When you get out of the shower, don't even think about towel drying your hair. All that grinding and tangling and snapping is terrible for the little ends. Use a wide toothed comb instead then pat it down or squeeze excess water out.
Last one... Occasionally I will trim my own hair, and this really does help! I take it all to one side, twist it into a rope, and vertically cut my ends off with hair sheers (a little trick by my friend Kelly O ;) Make sure you twist the opposite way and repeat so your hair still looks even. I'm sure my stylist would die to hear that I do this!
Have a great week lovies!!!
Makeup on the go!
Happy Sunday, Everyone!
I hesitated writing this post because to me it seems so obvious! But I can't tell you how many people have seen this little trick and said, "Oh my God! I should totally do that!!" So maybe this will be helpful to a lot of you!
It comes as no surprise to y'all that I have makeup with me all the time. I used to carry around a whole little kit! I had my touch-up powder, bronzer, blush, eyebrow brush, Q-tips, & Vaseline, plus all three brushes that went with the powders I needed. It became too much carrying around that bulky mess, especially when I carried a mini-purse!
So about a year ago, I thought, "Why not just get those brushes prepared before leaving the house, then I could eliminate carrying the actual compacts!" A brilliant thought, if I don't say so myself :)
Before I leave the house, I stamp my powder brush in my compact and get plenty of it on the bristles. I do the exact same thing with my bronzer and blush. Then I stick the brushes into my wrap, roll it up, and hit the door! It's great! No more worrying about stuff spilling in my purse, or compacts cracking and making a MESS of your purse, clothes, or car!
So easy, right!? My bag was a free Physician's Formula canvas roll-up. It's machine washable and pretty small :) I can even fit it into my favorite clutch!
Have a great week everyone!
Hey y'all!
Hopefully everyone was too busy watching the Super Bowl to notice that my post didn't go up until just now ;)
Sooo, even though most of my posts are about makeup and lotions and potions & stuff, many of you know that I am equally obsessed with animals and feel really, really passionate about pet adoption. I just saw this commercial and ACTUALLY laughed out loud. It's adorable!!
Have a great week, friends!
xoxo, B
Okay gals, listen up!
All of you, get rid of your disposable makeup sponges IMMEDIATELY! They’re cheap, ill-shaped, and verrry porous, resulting in poor application and having to buy foundation more often because it all got sucked up by your drugstore sponges! I received my Beauty Blender in a Birchbox over a YEAR ago and I’m still obsessed with it. It is by far the best makeup tool I own, and on the days I skip skip using it, I instantly regret it because my makeup shows my pores and fine lines… AND the days I really take the time to use it properly, I ALWAYS get complements on my skin! I have expensive foundation application brushes and other sponges, but I swear by this thing.
Here’s the training video from the Beauty Blender website… a little cheesy yes, but it shows how totally simple it is to use the sponge to apply your makeup. The best part is that you can use it with the foundation, concealer, cream blush, finishing powder, and mineral makeup you already own and make it look truly amazing! No wait… the best part is actually that it’s hot pink :)
Oh! One more thing! As with almost everything, you don’t need the “special” Beauty Blender cleanser! Dawn dish detergent works exactly the same!
Pink Blush!
Hey Y'all!!
I went to Sephora yesterday with a very simple plan: buy ONLY what I'm out of, which was Bare Minerals Matte Foundation and bronzer... But no sooner had I stepped FIVE stinkin' feet inside did I spy the best blush I'd ever seen, by Christian Dior, Exclusively for Sephora. It was this gorgeous bubble gum pink that I could swear looks good on every single skin tone in the world!
I immediately grabbed a cotton circle to sample it when I noticed there was only one left, I HAD to have it! My gift card was for $50 and I was willing to pass up the things I used everyday, things I neeeeded, for a $44 impulse blush!!?? A true dilemma.
I ended up putting it back, in a totally annoying hiding place where no one could ever find it, because if I couldn't have it than no one should, and now I feel like a complete jerk :/ but at least I made the right choice by using my Sephora money for the two items I went to buy in the first place! ANDDDD I accrued even more Beauty Insider points (I think I'm up to a thousand!!.... Does that mean I've spent $1000 since the last time I cashed in my points? Oy vey). But if you have an extra $40, you should definitely go get the blush right now! It's sooo pretty and soooo pink and perfect for brightening up cold winter days or getting a girly glow over your bronzer! Just make sure when you go that you look for it everywhere, because you never know if another meanie like me hid it. Sorry Cherry Creek Sephora!
Hey Guys!!
I've been super excited about this week's post because it reviews something I absolutely SWEAR by! The horrific combination of the extremely cold, dry Colorado winter air and the mandatory "wash your hands three consecutive times" over and over in the hygiene lab (on top of my everyday normal hand washing) left my hands and knuckles in a sad, sad state. Once I looked down and three of my knuckles had split wide open and were bleeding! They were hurting me and the scaly cracks were just really gross and bloody :(
My mom took one look at my hands and felt awful! The next day she brought me those little aloe gloves that you're supposed to wear to sleep and Gold Bond Ultimate Intensive Healing Cream - which was the best discovery EVERRRR!! It's the thickest, creamiest, hand cream you'll ever find, and I swear it worked overnight. I felt like Mario going to sleep with those crazy gloves but I woke up with what looked and felt like new skin. My hands were soooo soft!
The only downside of it is that it takes a really long time to rub it all in. It says it absorbs in 15 seconds.... uhhh not even close. A bunch of girls at school ask to borrow it because it works so well, but we're all rubbing our hands for a full five or ten minutes! It is really THICK, but it does the job better than anything else I've ever tried. If you're desperate for a solution, you need to try this stuff - it's totally awesome. Thanks, Mom!
No Comparison!
Hay-lo Everyone!
Soooo, as promised, my shampoo review that's been forEVer in the making! I decided about a couple of months ago that I needed to cut out all extraneous spending, including all unnecessary products. I had long since run out of my favorite shampoo, Pureology, and decided that drugstore shampoo & conditioner would hardly make a difference in the texture and feel of my hair. Oh. My. God.
I started out with Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy... it has the commercial with Heidi Klum. My hair began DYING overnight. It has NEVER felt so dry and brittle. At first I attributed it to the dry Colorado winter air, but then I bought Dove Nourishing Oil Detangler AND Dove Nourishing Dry Ends Serum to use after my shampoo and conditioner routine and my hair felt even dryer, which I honestly thought was totally impossible. Mid-blowdry, my hair was a giant poof frizz-ball and was nearly impossible to comb through.
Next, I downloaded an AWESOME app called "Total Beauty" which gives real reviews of drugstore and professional products. I went with the highest rated shampoo, Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Shampoo and the highest rated conditioner, Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. While this combo was WAY better (and smelled amazing), my hair still didn't feel okay :( My ponytails were super spiky and dry, and no amount of gloss or defrizz made it look any semblance of healthy.
I then decided to step it up a little and go with the expensive drugstore stuff, so at $20 each, I bought It's a 10 shampoo and conditioner which was the crappiest yet. There was not a single sud when I shampooed and it was even hard to comb through my hair with my fingers after conditioning. I got so frustrated with my nasty hair that I stepped out of the shower and grabbed my old Pureology minis I use for traveling from beneath my sink.
Y'all. I totally did the happy dance in the shower!! I literally couldn't believe how different my hair felt!! I almost felt as though I didn't even need conditioner after shampooing, but I've never been one of thooose girls :) I felt like a complete FOOL for ever giving up Pureology! I spent double what Pureology costs trying to find a replacement and nothing even compared to how fabulous it is. They say shampoos can't change the texture and structure of your hair, but Pureology definitely fools you into thinking that they can. I will never have super silky, thick, heavy, ultra-healthy hair, but I am VERY satisfied with how my hair feels everyday now. My ponytails are shiny and the ends feel much, much healthier. I highly recommend all Pureology products - they have soooo many different kinds, all backed by tons of science I don't really understand :) ! I use the green repairing shampoo and purple hydrating conditioner, and I will never switch again!
Happy New Year, Everyone!!!
Hi Friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure how many of you still check my lil' bloggy after my three month hiatus, but I missed writing it and I missed you guys! Every time friends asked me for product reviews or makeup advice I just kept thinking how useful my reviews would be to all of you! Also, Peachipeach.com was my homepage, and it mocked me every time I turned on my computer and that got pretty old pretty quick :)
My mini-explanation for being gone so long is that I started dental hygiene school and it takes up, like, 20 hours of my day every day. IT'S HORRIBLE!!!!! and I pretty much want to quit every day - you can ask my mom, who calls me everyday on my drive home to make sure I haven't jumped off the roof or intentionally crashed my car into a tree (at a low speed) to avoid having to go back the next day. I've cried, ohhh... exactly... every day, and any "free" time I have is split between a)showering, b)eating, c)boyfriending, or d)sleeping.
So my New Year's Resolution for Peachipeach.com is to update it every Sunday. There are SO MANY products I want to tell y'all about but trying to update it everyday was becoming a nightmare. With that being said, I'm so sorry for abandoning you last September!! Not to fear, I'm excellent at keeping my resolutions and once a week is WAY more manageable for me.
Okay! So! I hope everyone had a SUPER fun and safe New Year's Eve and is off to a great start in 2013! Check back on Sunday for an AWESOME shampoo review that's been years in the making ;)
xoxo, Brittany
Kitty Cat Flats
I don't evenlike cats, but these really are adorable!! :) Wait a week and you'll see 'em EVERYWHERE. Meow!
I can't believe I just discovered this site! It's not necessairily, "Celebrities without makeup," because tons of the pictures show just how much makeup they have on to trick us into thinking they have flawless, red carpet ready skin! Check out a few of my favorite pics below.
Nicole Richie has the best airport outfits!
Once again, Nicole Richie strikes as the cutest, most adorable, best dressed celeb ever!
Okay, FIRST of all, this guy has amazing eyebrows and they'd look as amazing even if he did nothing to fill them in! Honestly, I wish I had his brows. I'm seriously not even kidding.
But since I struggle with mine so much, I'm DYING to try this product!! Do you know how awesome it would be if, after a workout or a swim or skiing or whatever, your eyebrows remained perfect!? Most people don't even know how ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL good eyebrows are to framing your face and perfecting your made-up look! Seriously everybody, a good brow is a MUST!! Many of you may even know that I had mine tattoo'd, but they're already almost completely faded... (omg, I can't even talk about it or I'll cry actual tears over the $700 that I spent.) Makeup Forever's Aqua Brows has gotta be worth the try for $20.
