something they donāt tell you about being autistic is that every character you write WILL end up autistic/autistic-coded whether you like it or not
same goes for being aromantic/asexual. every character WILL come out at least a little aspec
if you reblog this and purposefully remove the second addition i Will block you.
I love that thing when people get a little bit tongue-tied and garble what theyāre trying to say so they make a little ābleghā š noise and start over. verbal reset button. hitting the top of the tv to unscramble the signal
Ep 8 and 4 things I cleaned up but lost the heart to finish after the finale, lol. At the time I thought Morty's obvious cries for help would be answered so I didn't mind drawing these.
dude this season he loves his vodka so much its crazy for even his standards
I say this with as much love as I can possibly muster, but honestly, some of you really do need to go read an actual book once in a while. I just find myself genuinely baffled, over and over, by how willfully people misread fairly straightforward media.
There seems to be a real resistance to sitting with nuance, to letting a character or a scene mean more than one simple thing at a time. I don't know when we collectively lost the ability to hold two ideas in our heads at once, but I'd love to have it back.

xena gave us trans drag lesbianism as a treat
There are layers to this. Earlier in the episode, Xena discovers her secret while they're sharing a locker room. A woman she has got naked with turned out to be trans. It's the exact scenario terfs are always fear-mongering about, but Xena just shrugs it off.
Also, the kiss was a big deal not just because it was gay but because the trans actress was HIV positive. They wanted to show the world that you can't contract HIV just from kissing someone. Bear in mind, the AIDS crisis was still fresh on people's minds in the 90s.
Happy Pride.

nimble, a border collie-papillon mix, wins the 12ā class in the 2024 masters agility championship. the first time a mixed breed has won at westminster ever.
context explaining why the announcer is screaming, this is supposed to take a high level competitive agility dog 40 seconds
This video makes me cry every time itās on my dash and I canāt even iterate why.
Like the dog doesnāt even know itās a competition and sheās made history. She(?) just is happy and knows she made her owner happy too.

common advice for social anxiety is to tell yourself "people aren't going to think less of you just because you said something a bit daft" but the thing is. sometimes they will. and you just have to learn to be cool with that and to treat it as a dnd random encounter rather than letting it ruin your whole day
recent example. lady at my careers appointment had a post-it with her name on it stuck to the monitor, so i introduced myself by saying "hello, i'm eliot! you must be [name], it's nice to meet you!" and she stared at me as if i was the stupidest person alive and said icily, "yeah, i'm [name]. congratulations, you can read."
in bygone times this would have reduced me to a sort of quivering blancmange. thankfully i am now in a place where i was able to pull back, calmly evaluate this interaction, and say to myself "this woman should probably not be working in a customer-facing job"
important additions!!!!
some screenshot redraws of episode 8 because i like it a little too much
