The library was quiet, as all libraries should be, but since it was almost closing time the silence was nearly deafening. He really only needed to get a book, but he’d got caught up going through the other titles in that section, and before he knew it he was checking out a whole four unnecessary books, his bag suddenly stupidly heavy. He looked around the place while he was waiting for the librarian to give him his ID back, suddenly spotting a familiar face. Honestly, he had no idea how he could have not noticed her when he’d come in, but now that he’d seen her he couldn’t just leave, not without saying hi. Making his way as quietly as he could to her table, he stood there for a second, waiting for her to notice him. “Must be a fascinating book if it’s kept you here this late,” he said after a second, unable to keep quiet any longer. “Is it all about proper etiquette when you’re having dinner with kings, or have you finished that one already?”

Reed stood in the public restroom, uncaring for the moment who was around, but when he got a splash of water in his face, he felt personally insulted. “Hey, hey!” he called out, wiping off his face, “What was that for?”

Raising his hands in the air, Levi took a step back. He could be a little careless, and now that he was a little drunk, his hands felt too big to handle. “Oops,” he said, giving the other boy a sheepish smile. “Sorry, aimed to wash my face but I guess I accidentally washed yours instead?”

Walking up to a randomly selected person in the most popular bar in town for Lockwood students, Frankie slung an arm around them and kissed them on the cheek. “Darling! Have I ever told you how much I love you? And that I would love you even more if you bought me a drink? I’m absolutely parched and way too sober.”

Caught off guard, it took a second for Levi to actually lean into her half hug, grin on his face as he realized who it was. “Well, if you love me, I can’t deny you a drink,” he laughed, patting her cheek softly. “I hope you realize what a special treat that is, I’m usually the one begging for drinks but for you? I’d make all the exceptions. What do you wanna have?”

“Wow,” he said slowly, processing the information, a slight laugh escaping him at the ridiculousness of the situation. “Well, I mean, I guess it’s alright. You told her. If she didn’t believe you, that’s kinda her problem, is it not?” he asked, knowing entirely that life didn’t, in fact, work that way. Sighing heavily, he moved so he was cross-legged, eyes fixed on the boy in front of him. “God, I’m sorry, though. Really. I wish that… I don’t know. Wish that shit didn’t even matter, I guess.”

Having obviously exceeded his limit of allowed honesty per day, Levi waved his hand in front of him, his eyes on him making him ridiculously self aware. “It’s fine, quit giving me that look,” he said, glancing around the room to break eye contact. “She just needs to know I have good grades and haven’t entirely fucked up my life, everything else -- ignorance is bliss,” he shrugged. “Anyway, that’s the most sharing I’ve done in like, the thousand years I’ve been in this place, I hope you feel special now that you’ve been burdened with my problems.”

“If I drop out and decide to become a figure skater, would you be my partner?” Levi asked, reluctantly getting his feet off the couch to make room for Teddy, the Olympics silently playing on the TV. He was pretty sure they’d be better with music but he had a raging headache and he’d just lowered the volume little by little until it had gone entirely quiet. “I think I could do it, I’m pretty flexible -- I used to do yoga, you know, and my arm bends weirdly so that would give me an extra spark, I’d just have to work that into a routine somehow.”

Catching sight of Syd walking by his slightly ajar door, Levi dropped his eyeliner, shooting a sheepish smile at the guy who’d been clearly waiting for him to get out of the bathroom, as if he could rush these things. “Hey, Syd,” he said, hurrying his pace to catch him before he got to his room. “Dude, slow down, I have short legs -- where are you going? I’m dying of boredom, I need to get out and honestly, I was ready to start knocking on doors but you showed up like an angel sent from heaven to wingman me, please say you’ll drop your probably fascinating plans and come get wasted with me.”

Making his way downstairs in his underwear and a loose shirt, Levi walked into the kitchen with his eyes still half closed, nearly stumbling straight into JC. “God, sorry, still asleep,” he mumbled, trying to blink the sleep away and rubbing his eye with the back of his hand. “I would be still literally asleep but I thought someone was banging on my wall, and it was just -- next room neighbor, missing the point of morning sex entirely by banging the headboard against the wall,” he sighed, finally focusing his gaze on the guy. “That’s not coffee, please me tell me you just don’t like coffee and that you’re not drinking that because we ran out because I might  faint right here and right now if we’re out of coffee.”

“Oh… fuck,” he said, sitting up straighter at the other’s mention of his mother. He didn’t really know how to respond to that, knowing entirely that it was something that wouldn’t be fixed with some high advice. Instead of trying to offer any at all, he just shook his head, sighing heavily. “That’s… wow… What did you bring up?” he asked, not entirely sure if that was an invasive question or not, but asking anyway.

Taking a sip as if to keep himself honest, Levi handed the bottle back, wiping the corner of his mouth with his thumb. “Just, you know. She could tell I’d been out so she asked if I’d stayed with some girl on Valentine’s, and I said I’d actually been out with a boy,” he said, eyebrows raised as he picked at loose threads on his jeans, now that he didn’t have the bottle to keep his hands busy. “Honestly? Could’ve been worse, she just laughed for like five minutes and said I’d always been funny and to bring my girlfriend home over the summer. Now I just need someone I can bribe and who will put up with my mom asking how much longer she has to wait to have grandchildren.”

rolling her eyes as she took a long drag exhaling before she began to speak, “well both offers are tempting as you could likely entertain me in this cell. But I’ve been in here far too long n’ need to get out n do something.”The brunette was feeling over dramatic and in a good way for once. Groaning as she tried to decide on choice, “I think I’m slightly goin’ insane.”

“Being locked up is the worst, but honestly? I’m coming out of hybernation myself, you should come along,” he grinned at her, gesturing at their surroundings vaguely as if anything about the front lawn was tempting. “Come on, I’ll buy you a drink or something, the world’s our oyster and a girl like you, inside a tower? Only should happen in fairytales.”

Walter had hovered over his desk for the past two hours because he was writing a ten page paper about the philosophy of freedom and evil and it was really starting to stress him out considering he only had three of the ten pages done so far. He wasn’t really expecting Levi to walk in as he let his elbows rest on the desk as he pushed his glasses up to the rim of his nose and ran his fingers through his hair starting to get frustrated with his homework. These days doing homework never felt the same. Though when he hard Levi’s voice his eyes finally peered away from the laptop screen that was opened up to a Wikipedia page on Leibniz and freedom and he looked over at him giving him a soft smile. “Nah, I should have kind of figured you’d come at some point.” He said with a shrug looking over at him as he ran his fingers through his rather messy hair.

“Great, because I have a ton of work to do and I can’t focus at that house -- or alone, really, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I have a very short attention span and being by myself makes it worse,” Levi said, groaning slightly at himself as he dropped his stuff on Walter’s bed, taking his shoes off and getting himself comfortable right on the middle of it. It was easy to pretend this was like three months ago, and maybe if he pretended hard enough it would actually become like that again. “Honestly, I have the worst quiz next week and I can’t make myself read a single page, I didn’t realize how much a person could hate abstract concepts until I tried to make my brain solve Hamiltonians,” he sighed, shaking his head at the books he’d sprawled around himself. “By the way, do you have leads because I broke all of mine and I don’t have any normal pencils and pens? Scary stuff, I can’t do maths with ink, it’s too permanent and I’m a coward.”

so one of my jobs is ENDING next week bc being in ur twenties when everything is temporary is great,, anyways i sadwatched like half of riverdale and honestly? madelaine petsch? if no one brings her to me im gonna have to bring her myself as my final and fourth character since im gonna have some surprise spare time lol ANYWAY thanks for tuning in ill be here to do the promised starters and replies tomorrow love u fam !!

It felt like it had been years since he’d found himself at Delta Xi with his books under his arm, laptop safely tucked into his bag, but it was the only way to get things back to normal. Plus, he really did have a lot to do, and being around Walter had always been good for his concentration. His door was ajar, so he knocked on it for good measure, peeking in after a second. “Hey,” he greeted him with a smile, waving his fingers awkwardly. “Should I have told you I was coming? Later isn’t a very specific time, I know, but I was with Blake and -- yeah, I’m here now, if that’s alright,” he said, leaning against the doorframe. It felt a little weird, but he was determined to make this work, for the sake of friendship and homework.

“Shut up,” he said, rolling his eyes. “Levi, do you really think I’d believe any of that? Like really? Come on,” he said, chuckling softly. He wasn’t going to push him, however, deciding the change the subject entirely. He lowered down some of the bottle first, before handing it back. Leaning back against the headboard once more, he opened up one of the boxes of Nerds, dumping some into his hand. “I wish I had drugs and that’s the tea.”

Staring at the bottle as he picked on the label, trying to get it off, Levi nodded at his last words, as if he didn’t have a wild variety at arm’s length. “At least you’re baked, you can’t complain,” he said with a chuckle, glancing up at him momentarily. “I got way too high at that pool party last week, like -- bad combination of things, had to lie down for a very long time before I could actually walk back home, and I don’t exactly remember how I got back here?” he started saying, eyes fixating on the bottle again. “Anyway, it was like, eight am or something when I got here and my mom thought it would be a good idea to call me because I kind of lied to her and said I couldn’t go home for the new year because I was busy studying -- couldn’t exactly tell her I was choosing some lame Valentine’s pool party over our family tradition or whatever, and I, uh. I was pretty wasted during that call,” he narrowed his eyes, finally succeeding at removing the label. “I’m usually better at talking to her even when I’m completely out of it, but I may have brought up some topics I didn’t actually want to ever discuss with her, so. You know. At least I didn’t ask anyone to marry me, I guess.”

“Camels are, like, a bionic force, Levi. Stomachs like iron tanks. Is there anything they can’t do? Doubtful. They’d probably eat a whole acre of batter for breakfast and not even blink,” Lana rambled on carelessly, not even flinching when she had to wildly crane her arm upright in order to forcefully scrub at the pan to get the pancake off the base of it. “No,” slipped out in a solemn sigh, lips buttoned together in faint sulk. “It’s an injustice, I swear. Apparently I’m a hazard, not just to the house, but to taste-buds everywhere. I mean… harsh. Could at least sugar coat it and tell me I have a nice ass as they scalp my cookery skills.” Poking his plate over once she’d finally torn the pancake from the pan, she prodded it towards the centre and arranged it in a small mound of shredded, partially black, golden crisped batter. “Wow. Tasty. Ghouls everywhere? Salivating. Go on, chomp it like a starving hyena. I welcome constructive criticism.”

Yawning as she went on speaking, Levi lifted a leg so he could hug his knee to his chest, resting his chin on it. “It sounds like your fellow members aren’t open to new experiences, shame on them -- at least you’re fun to watch when you’re cooking, should appreciate the entertainment a little more and accept terrible food as the prize they must pay to keep you around,” he said with a solemn shake of his head. Looking down at the plate as he chewed thoughtfully on his thumbnail, he took a second to really medidate upon this life choice before glancing around until he spotted a fork. Nothing was ever clean enough in the Theta kitchen, but by now he’d probably developed very strong defenses after eating there for so long so he didn’t mind, sinking it into the rather unappealing batter. At least it didn’t look raw, Chewing slowly, he gave her a nod, mostly out of appreciation for her effort. “Should’ve put like, a cherry on top for the presentation, Gordon Ramsey would’ve been rather unhappy about that -- but I’m not dying? If I’m being honest, my taste-buds probably died like a week ago, so I can’t be much of a judge, I just know the texture isn’t all that bad, the crispy burnt bits give it an extravagant touch.”

“Alright alright. Wow. I can’t believe that Teddy thinks I’d literally fist or be fisted. That sounds utterly horrifying, I’m not gonna lie,” he admitted, brows raised at Levi’s next words. “I’ve won my share of fights in the past, Levi. Don’t mess with me.” Laughing softly, he nearly choked on his own saliva as Levi started to explain, for a second, almost believing the story. “Bullshit,” he said. “You can’t just make something up. This is serious, Levi. And that story is probably worse than the actual one.”

“Don’t worry, I know it takes time to open yourself up to new experiences, I’m sure you’ll eventually see the fun in it,” he said, patting his knee comfortingly. “What could possibly be more serious than me, married? If you thought me in a commited relationship was a bad idea, imagine me with a ring around my finger,” he exclaimed, waving his hand in the air. “I don’t have it right now because I want us to use my grandparents’ rings which have been in the family for generations, but they’re both alive so we’re gonna have to wait for them to die to make it official,” he sighed exaggeratedly, reaching to grab the bottle again. “It’s either that, or I knocked up a girl, but I can’t remember which one -- choose your own adventure, I’ll tell you the story.”
