Deciding to use Luca signing a KTM deal full of performance clauses as an opportunity to psychoanalyze him so that I don't turn evil. Because either he believes that he can meet them (a fascinating look into his self-belief and ego) or he would truly rather risk what's essentially a one year deal on a bad bike rather than sign a two year deal with VR46. Him not wanting to go back to VR46 has been widely discussed, but it does still emphasize just how much he doesn't want to go back.

But I think this is actually an example of his self-belief and ego! Both in that he thinks he can land on his feet no matter what and forge his own career, but also (given how he seems genuinely happy about this contract) I think he may think he can meet the performance clauses. Which is a fun little bit of ego! (And if the clause is something like top KTM it's not actually fully delusional? He beat Alex and Diggia in 2023 and is currently beating everyone not named Pedro on a KTM...)

But also Luca likes to lie to other people and himself about the level of control and calmness he has in any given situation. So.
