More on Lefu's big long sword

Lefu is right handed. But the little flourish he does at the end of his dash attack suggests his left hand isn't useless.

At first I thought he's left handed. But he simply does an unnecessarily complicated attack! While charging his attack he holds his whole sword in his left hand.

Then he dashes forward and simultaneously unsheaths his sword to swing in a wide arc.

Slow it down even more and you can see him grab the hilt with his right hand to perform the slash.

Why is he so damn fast I had to slow down the next gif twice. There, you can see him sheathing his blade again.

His speed coupled with the fact that his attack echoes in the path he dashes through, leads me to believe that Lefu actually is a very skilled swordsman. It's so anime lol

Also what I thought to be the knuckle guard is actually part of the sheath?? I mean, it has spikes. By all means, it should be the knuckle guard! I don't get it. What is this for??

Lefu's sword

Holy crap I never realised just how HUGE Lefu's sword is! I knew it was big but putting it next to him??

The builder reaches his shoulders. Meaning Lefu swings around a sword the size of a HUMAN.

And unlike the great swords the builder can use, which are heavy and you see how much strength is needed when swinging it, Lefu's movements are swift. The only similar sword we get is Altair (the laser sword from Qi; as far as I know I haven't tried all weapons). The builder uses one hand to unleash the attacks, although Altair's hilt looks long enough for two.

Lefu's sword is more slender than a great sword. So I guess him using it with one hand isn't out of reach. I'm just baffled how long that thing is.

Looking at the sword's form, it's a one edged sword. The hilt appears to be 1,5 - 2 hands long. In the fight Lefu uses cutting attacks.

Lefu's sword is a sort of long sword. That would give him an advantage over close combat fighters like Logan.

The sword is strapped to his back with the leather belt that holds the ammunition on his chest. The pommel is something fancy that looks like the Duvos insignia with an added triangle on top. If it wasn't for that pommel I would say this sword was forged by one of the old blacksmiths, making this sword extraordinary. Where did he get it from then? Has he found it himself? Has the military given it to him? If it was forged by a Duvosian builder/blacksmith then its quality is likely rare. And it likely came from the military.

Now I'm just wondering what that other thing is that's poking out from his back. Anyone got a good screenshot of that?

Ohhh! That golden thingy is a knuckle guard!

Well, actually, it is also a crossguard. The crossguard is the part that separates blade from handle. Its job is to protect the hand from the opponent's sword. The crossguard, even though it is conveniently shaped, is not the crucial part to disarm an opponent (very cool vids on Youtube, just saying).

The crossguard goes over into the knuckle guard.

So, Lefu carries a long sword. Long swords, as opposed to great swords, are light enough to be wielded in one hand.

Googled something about quick hydration and it suggested big jug of water, couple tbsp pickle juice, dash of lime juice.

Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.
