“I don’t understand the whole ‘cold brew’ hype,” Sky frowned, squinting up at the coffee shop’s menu. “Like, I feel like people don’t even really like it? They just get it because it’s ‘in’,” she quoted the air. “I kinda wanna try one, though…”
“I don’t know what cold brew means,” Penelope confessed, voice low as she looked over her shoulder to make sure none of the other customers were listening and judging her. “And I’m honestly too afraid to ask at this point. But I support you trying one and then teaching me about it.”
Penelope looked from her laptop screen with a frown. “How do I put ‘waits for tourists to ask me to paint things on the boardwalk’ on my resume?” she asked, slapping the backspace button loudly until her page was blank again.
“Uhhh,” Edward tapped his finger against his chin in thought. “I guess you can put something along the lines of being a freelance artist? That sounds pretty cool and professional, yeah? ‘Freelance artist’,” he repeated, deepening his voice slightly. “Anyway, it’s your portfolio that’ll really grab their attention.”
Penelope typed the title out as soon as Edward spoke, giggling as he repeated himself. “That is perfect! It actually sounds like I’m a professional human! Penelope the professional freelance artist. As long as they don’t ask for references, it’ll be great,” she rambled on happily. “What do you put on your resumes? If you record yourself playing music with your phone can you call yourself a recording artist?”
Penelope looked from her laptop screen with a frown. “How do I put ‘waits for tourists to ask me to paint things on the boardwalk’ on my resume?” she asked, slapping the backspace button loudly until her page was blank again.
