Making exercises more accessible to the disabled? Fuck yeah!
I don' really write anymore because not only is my spirit and confidence essentially ground into dust, but because I genuinely feel like nobody cares what I have to say, so why bother saying it? I cant do it for myself, becsuse my self esteem is literally nothing. There is no self love to build that motivation upon. If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? If a thought or feeling is said but never heard, was it ever expressed?
I also have been crushed by the unshakable truth that its detrimental to truly express myself authentically. Almost all the people Ive called friends who ended up abandoning me did so in whole or in part because like so many autistic/neurodivergent people, dealing with me and what I think and feel got to be too much for them to handle. Thus, if i do not wish to spend the rest of my life entirely alone, I must curate and curtail my every thought and feeling.
The only person I can express myself truly to is my therapist. Which as I've told her is depressing on its own. It's like paying for sex work, its perfectly fine, and even beneficial. But if the genuinely only way you can experience what is supposedly part of the human experience is to pay for it in a transactional capacity, well it doesnt feel as good as if it were authentically earned. The result is that while therapy helps, on some the continuing cacophony of bottled up echoes of thoughts and feelings maintains levels at dangerous pressure levels. Repeating the soul crushing feeling that i am something monsterous trying to reach the impossible goal of humanity. What hope is there of salvation if I must stich my lips shut, lest my horrid wailing scare away the few dear things I have in this world?
Truly, I have no mouth, and I must scream.
older lotr illustrations sometimes depict éowyn wearing ridiculously small armour. apart from the problem general sexualisation of the only female character (who really does anything), there’s another hilarious thought:
éowyn pretended to be dernhelm, a man. to fit in, she must have worn men’s armor. so the armor in the illustrations is normal for rohirrim.
therefore, all the rohirrim rode to war just like that:
there’s a thundering sound in the distance as the rohirrim ride into war but rather than hoofbeats it’s the collective sound of all their cheeks clapping
the artist for this particular piece is Frank Frazetta and to be fair to him this is how he drew the orcs armor
so the rohirrim comment is probably not that far off
That’s a man who just straight up had a problem with the concept of wearing pants into battle, and I respect that
male or female
hero or villain
sea or land
even in the snow
I guarantee you Frazetta’s Rohirrim were 100% pants-free
Good Old Frank. That man loved bodies and hated clothes so much
Frank Frazetta was the reason He-Man was designed like that; the producers conduct a study to see what art appeal the most to children, and Frank’s work came out on top in popularity. So everyone in He-Man is dressed the way they are directly because of Frazetta.
That man gave us the gift of warrior thighs and tits for everyone.
Ah, it has been too long since I have seen the no pants post on my dash. And yes, this is a rare case where it wasn’t some sexist nonsense but an egalitarian No Pants Agenda.
It’s time for my regular reblog of Gondor Needs No Pants
Reminds me of these classics from Oglaf

Come on man
It is like almost looping around to parody that this is a game about a pregnant woman and her Super Special Child and SHE DOESNT EVEN GET A FUCKING NAME
This game will be laughed at initially, then only remembered by the people who make porn and fetish content.
So at least it will do somebody some good.
my most sick and twisted fantasy
I was honestly a bit nervous to draw and post this one, because it's such a deep rooted and genuine issue I struggle with. It's a thing I wish could be fixed in some way, but I feel pretty comforted it resonated with so many others too
So I've been financially strapped for a while now and found a claim for over 100 bucks for me to claim. So this is incredibly helpful and worth a look
so. a meme from me. to show how ive been lately
[ strongbad voice ] Y’know, those people on the lame little exponent-that-has-the-value-of-a-bird app, heard a lot of people talking about us making outdated jokes. Like about the “el-jibbity” community.
[ heavy voice ] Heavy believes is pronounced “LGBT.”
[ strong bad voice ] Exactly, Smaller and Less Handsome Strongbad. We got all the LGBT crew right here! Like.. Lagamorph… Boxing Man… Giant thing… and um.. Tycho!
In true Strong Bad/Homestar fasion, this has permanently altered my vocabulary, because I now want to only pronounce LGBT as "el-jibbity"
what if you combined a pressure cooker and a deep fryer and made a pressure fryer, the most dangerous kitchen implement in history
does this imply you want to heat cooking oil to past its boiling point at one atmosphere
Its real and its called a broaster.
*grabs america by the shoulders* we have got to lock the fuck in. south asia and the middle east are running goddamn circles around us. we have got to come up with a more dangerous way of cooking food now or we can kiss these quarter finals goodbye
OK but we already have these? Like, maybe not available publicly, but when I worked at at Wendys like a decade ago we had these. We called them "Pressure fryers" and its how they cook those not cheap chicken breasts for their sandwhiches. So this is already an american thing
had a fascinating english class that resulted in the notes header “the forcefeminization of victor frankenstein”
what the people want, the people get
you see
my professor’s take is that mary shelley is feminizing victor throughout the novel, as a way of flipping gender roles and putting a male character through female experiences.
evidence as explained:
victor is creating life. he is putting his health at risk (spends two years with little sleep or socialization) to bring life forth into this world
his illness after he is shocked by the creature coming to life is akin to both ‘hysteria’ and postpartum depression
he pretty much swoons, let’s be honest
henry clerval, a man who has been characterized as manly and heroic, has to chase after damsel-in-distress victor and care for him as he convalesces
afterward, he hides what he did and went through, for fear that others will label him crazy and emotional and not believe him. sound familiar?
Victor in general is more emotional than the other characters and is constantly tempering his reactions to not be seen as irrational
the book does not otherwise have central female characters
Also, Shelley’s mother died in childbirth. It’s interesting, then, that Shelley presents the creation of life as something horrific and damaging. She parallels Victor with her mother.
in conclusion, Frankenstein (1818) by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley is one of the first examples of mpreg in English literature
This is going to actually be a thing, isn't it. A chatgpjesus is going to catch on and cause some fucking cult movement in our lifetimes.
I mean archaeology roughly spawned mormonism.
And psychology roughly spawned scientology.
Get ready for the AI cult if there ain't one already.
Roko's Basalisk comes wearing the skin of Christ. Theres somehting very techno-apocalyptic-biblical about it. Serpent in the garden and false prophets and all that.
My one contribution to hades ii featuring: inconsistent sizes compared to canon and many a heavily artifacted couch
This is what I mean when I say myth literalism is bad. While the gods are individuals, they are also concepts- forces that make up a greater whole. Hades is not just a king, he is cold, is is death, in the most literal of senses. His actions are not the actions of a man, they are the planet turning & the world around us breathing.
All of the above, PLUS....
Myths, with absolutely no exceptions, are created by human beings. The myths of the ancient world were often created to explain natural phenomena. They reflect the culture and time in which they were born, and that is the lens through which we must read them in order to properly understand what we're seeing. The story of Hades and Persephone was not created in response to a literal kidnapping. It was the allegorical lens through which one culture chose to view the natural phenomenon of seasonal change.
Expecting ancient myths to scan when viewed through the morals and values of a cultural viewpoint several millennia removed from the the source material is nothing short of ludicrous.
An important addition to this discussion too: when it comes to ancient myth, there rarely is any one "canon" official telling of a myth. Part of the nature of myth is the telling of stories, and as stories are told and spread, the orator tends to make changes due to how they remember things, or to translate to their own cultural beliefs. Not only is it extremely rare for humanity to have surviving direct accounts of ancient myth, but whatever we do have is just, one version of the story. As we discover more about anciet societies, we find alternative versions and different tellings of myths, so to ascribe one direct meaning is foolish. There are some interpretations of the Hades and Persphone myth that the abduction could be seen as a sort of elopement. We can't know for certian what the "real" answer is.
Also an important addendum: this particular myth of a deity of fertility and agriculture descending into the underworld which causes the chage of seasons, is one of the oldest myths of mankind because trying to rationalize the changing of the seasons has been a part of humanity from its origins, and there's argument that as the rise and fall of certain cultures and civilizations happened, their aspects of their culture spread and influenced others. Between Greece and Mesopotamia, there are multiple cultures with pantheons that have their own stories of fertility/agricultural deities descending to the underworld and returning. The abduction of Persephone by Hades is quite possibly just the memetic mutation of one of the oldest stories in history.
So its important to understand the cultural context of where the myth came from and not to try and judge based on our own frameworks; and also take with a grain of salt that the version of the myth you're told is not 100% cut and dry. There's bias and room for interpretation, and quite possibly another account of events out there we just dont' have on record.
blow job this hand job that what happened to being anti capitalist

i would 100% believe you if you told me this was based on a true story
the other night i tried to make a curry and i got chilli burns all over my face, so i thought to myself ‘hang on, doesn’t milk soothe chilli burns? it does’ and i couldn’t google because i couldn’t see so i just had to blindly feel my way to the fridge and pour out a bowl of milk, and then plant my face in the bowl of milk, anyway at that point the rice cooker went off and triggered a power surge which turned my electricity off, which i didn’t notice at first because i had my face in a bowl of milk and when i did emerge from the dairy prison i thought i had gone blind with chilli burns. so no i don’t really cook much.
