this is a highly selective and incredibly private writing blog for penny sinclair of e. lockhart’s we were liars. all original content here is mine. everything else including canon characterizations of penny belong to their respective creators. spoilers from both books will be present so be aware of that.
my portrayal is heavily embedded in the first book: a family of liars. penny is a closeted lesbian, and was (still somehow is) in love with her best friend erin. determined to prove to herself, to her family, and to the world that she fits into the mold of a sinclair daughter, she marries sam eastman and gives birth to a daughter, cadence. penny and sam are divorced years later. she did love him, in a way, but not in the way that they both deserved. penny struggles with the constraints of her family’s legacy and expectations, her true desires and identity, and the loneliness and grief of mourning who you really are.
i do not hesitate when it comes to hard-blocking. this is a hobby and a safe space. i refuse to compromise that for anything. i will most likely only follow close friends. if i follow you and you prefer not to be followed please hard-block.
i hope that it’s clear that i’m mutuals only. if we are not mutuals, do not lurk on my blog. simple as that. it’s creepy and says a lot about you.

i encourage communication in this blog. want to tell me something? talk to me. you see something you want to clarify? talk to me. do not simply assume and rule that you’re correct. i listen and i handle feedback well when its properly given. however, i want to make it clear that i will not entertain public posts about me when no effort was made to actually communicate with me. it’s unnecessary and immature. what’s true for you could very well be untrue for me. vice versa. that’s normal. that’s why communication is important. what’s not normal is making posts that claim to “correct” but instead spread misinformation and hate, when things can be discussed privately like adults. i expect my mutuals to act like how they would irl, and i expect my mutuals to act their age. i’ve been on this site long enough to know when people make noise simply for the sake of making noise, as opposed to when they genuinely want to come to a resolution about an issue.
