“Books are for people who wish they were somewhere else.”
— Mark Twain
The true blasphemy of literature is the romanticization of romance. They make it beautiful—all soft words, and elegant lines—and enchanting, with magic sparkling in the margins.
And you can feel it in the depths of your soul, an unexplored ocean of laughter and tears and dreams all melded together.
The yearning of a kiss that brushes against the steady and so so warm pulsing beat of life—against the smooth skin of a lovers neck. The desperation to touch another being and feel that they’re alive, right there next to you—right there, and never leaving.
To love and be loved is a jewel among treasures and all that we each seek—all that we each desire.
It burns and it burns and it burns.
“I would know him in death, at the end of the world.”
“Come home and break my heart, if you must.”
“Occasionally, Fate pulls itself together again and Time is always waiting.”
“And perhaps it is the greatest grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone.”
“By you, I am forever undone.”
“One word from you shall silence me forever.”
“A heart’s a heavy burden.”
“My sweet nemesis.”
“If you have to go, you know I will go with you.”
and then?
and then.
The book is over.
And you remember that love like that doesn't exist.
Not in the real world.
And all you can do is cry.
My therapist just told me my problem is that I need to write more fanfiction.
This sounds fake but the logic behind it is actually really interesting? She said obsession with a new fandom triggers quick dopamine release when we consume all this related content--it's easy and addictive.
What we're NOT getting is that 'slow dopamine' that's more sustainable and engaging. That's the kind we get from DOING things that take effort but are ultimately rewarding.
So like, she suggested that writing fic and making fanart are ways to balance the quick dopamine of watching a show/reading fic with the slow dopamine of working at something that takes effort.
Moral of the story is you should engage in the process of creation around your favorite things. You'll feel better for it.
Oh.
OH.
Let's all go do fandom.
FOR SCIENCE!
:)
Neil Gaiman would be so proud
Mostly I am just in awe of how much Good Omens art and how many Good Omens tales people have made. 55,890 is a lot of stories. (Good Omens the novel was 110,000 words.)

BYEON WOO SEOK as RYU SHI OH Strong Girl Nam Soon 힘쎈여자 강남순 (2023) – Ep. 1
this series looks so so, but he bring the vibesll!! give this man a morally grey role but make him main lead. He's got that "I'll burn the world for her" energy ughh.

Doom at Your Service: she's the colorbringer to his grayscale world. The one who taught him that he, too, could be loved.
My Demon: she's the fate he cannot defy. The water to his fire. The one who moves his emotions to be able to love.
Both are willing to die for the woman they love most.

DOOM AT YOUR SERVICE 어느 날 우리집 현관으로 멸망이 들어왔다 [2021] Dir. Kwon Young Il
Crushed my heart and soul in the best possible way
The way Myul-mang and Dong-kyung absolutely trashed my feels and had me sobbing 90% of the time (literally made my chest hurt). I had to google up towards the end cause if it wasn't a happy ending I was gonna loose it. And yet I still cried like a baby
Seo In-guk you stole my heart
Doom at Your Service: he need to hold her hand every day before midnight to recharge her so she won't feel pain from her brain tumor.
My Demon: he need to hold her wrist to use his power since his tattoo (the source of his power) is now on her wrist. Ergo, if he doesn't hold her wrist, he cannot access his demon power.
So, these 2 dramas have similar vibes, but different mechanism on how this holding hand/wrist works. And believe me, I ache for BOTH.
ughh entities who think of human as "insignificant" but still end up falling for one.
if "ill die for you" were a person it would be Myul-mang and Gu won
My heart aches omg so in the movie this break up scene was shown from Gojo's point of view which is why the overall atmosphere was very dark there. In today's episode this scene was shown how it actually took place; it was a sunny and bright day. But Gojo remembers it very gloomily. Also, in the episode we can the faces of the bystanders but in the movie we couldn't. This shows how for Gojo absolutely nothing mattered except Geto. He couldn't even comprehend anything else in that moment besides him.
Mappa did an incredible job showing this scene in two ways. It adds so much more depth to the characters and makes it even more sad.
We deserved more of sir Harwin with his sons 😭😭😭
