Okay, I have now drafted a response to @t-bombs ask meme about the ten gifs from favourite TV shows multiple times, finally posted, and it is not showing up. Is this an app thing, or just gremlins?
The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. The next time someone tries to claim that manspreading is a false phenomenon, please direct them to this strip so that Everett True can correct their misconceptions with an umbrella upside the head.
I have never before heard of Everett True, but if he “regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude,” I have a strong spiritual connection with him.

I’m very lucky to own a book that’s a collection of most of these comics (sadly not all of them) and would highly recommend hunting these down if you can. Sorry for the lack of a scanner but phone photos will just have to do.

I would like to see more of Jesse. The orange bubble-bombs are neat, but I'm not really getting a sense of background and I would like some.
Oh, Wally. You poor, terrified, overcharged, discombobulated kid. (That said, I really like what I am seeing of the Speed Force graphics; the blocked lines like reality reception tuning in and out and depixelating, the two halves of the split lightning bolt. They feel not just fast but frenetic, not breaking the fourth wall but flagging that there are multiple sides to the third and also all the bricks are mixing.)
As a whole, I do not love the team's vibe. It feels too professional and restrained. I mean, not that Cold can't be professional, just... I cannot imagine any of them (except Digger) ever saying "oh fuck this," you know?

I want to write a book called “your character dies in the woods” that details all the pitfalls and dangers of being out on the road & in the wild for people without outdoors/wilderness experience bc I cannot keep reading narratives brush over life threatening conditions like nothing is happening.
I just read a book by one of my favorite authors whose plots are essentially airtight, but the MC was walking on a country road on a cold winter night and she was knocked down and fell into a drainage ditch covered in ice, broke through and got covered in icy mud and water.
Then she had a “miserable” 3 more miles to walk to the inn.
Babes she would not MAKE it to that inn.
Are there any other particularly egregious examples?

It starts with a chapter about freezing to death, and it is without a doubt the scariest thing I’ve read in years (and I read a lot of horror fiction).

i live in a riding that is projected to be neck and neck between the cons and libs, no chance for ndp. i generally don’t like the thought of strategic voting but i’m starting to feel like i need to this time around. anyone else in a similar position?
i guess the best i’m hoping for is another agreement between a lib minority govt + ndp like we had to get things like universal dental care etc passed

I'm a fan of strategy voting when it's actually strategic.
Voting strategically to achieve an outcome of ABC (anyone but conservative) sends a loud and effective message that Canadians are not pleased with the current policies and leadership of the conservative party. It forces the overton window back toward the left and forces them to analyze their internal party bullshit and hopefully make a change.
With our first-past-the-post system, if they can eke by and get in, their leadership and policies appear to have a mandate (even if they don't really).
While I've voted NDP in every election I've been eligible to vote in to-date, this one I'll be voting strategically for the liberals. I'm in a blue riding but there's now more than a snowball's chance the liberals can take the seat and I'm going to do my best to help make that happen.

I would normally never do this and I normally avoid all political posting, but the FDA has had to stop a lot of food testing due to staff cuts currently planned at least until September 30th.
This is very dangerous for certain foods and if you live in the United States, I highly recommend that you keep track of this list: https://www.fda.gov/food/food-safety-modernization-act-fsma/food-traceability-list
That is a (not fully comprehensive but useful) list of the high-risk foods for contamination and sickness that could result in serious harm or death. The broad strokes are cheeses, but especially soft cheeses, raw/fresh vegetables, pre-sliced fruit packages, ready to eat salads, chicken eggs, milk (bird flu), anything fermented like melons, and pet food, among others.
This is likely not a comprehensive list, so be sure to look things up yourself as well.
If you buy vegetables and plan to eat them, it is best to cook them to a safe temperature and wash their outsides well with water and light scrubbing instead of eating them raw. Treat it like chicken in that regard.
Make sure that the individual foods that you buy often are safe to eat or at risk, and adjust accordingly. This is a fundamental necessity that everyone here will need to follow. Testing is reduced or gone, and reporting on outbreaks will also likely be reduced or banned outright as well.
All you can do is stay safe, use your masks in public again, and make sure that you are clean as well as your food.

Okay. So I am still reading the comics, and the All In Flash has started. Here are four Rogues, and my thoughts.
Captain (Captain Cold). What the ever-loving hell is up with the mustache. Also, he looks generically handsome and I wish to file a complaint. I can handle a good-looking Captain Cold (thank you, Wentworth Miller) (readers, please consider the double-entendres to have been made), but this one (so far) does not look like he's ever been in a bad situation. He looks like his mustache and jawline have cleared his path through life. He looks like someone Rick Flagg would want to emulate. (It is perhaps worth noting that I hate and fear change, but good grief I am inclined to dislike him.)
Lisa (Golden Glider). Flying boots, cool. She's black and the Captain's white, which makes me hesitant to read them as siblings, but at the same time she might be the only one he's calling by their first name, which suggests a closer and more comfortable relationship. Also, she is assigned to hang back with Jesse (if this is a gender thing I am going to be annoyed) so we don't get to see her in action.
Harkness (Boomerang). Despite the general glow-up (in the "you need to look like a recruiting poster and not a cautionary tale" sense), still has stubble. Further pages indicate that that there are multiple boomerangs flying around, that they are sitting on his suit when they are not active, and that they are currently under his direction like Yondu's arrow from the MCU. Also, he calls it Boomerang. Like "As usual, Boomerang and I will do everything." (Jesse also refers to it in the singular, as "that thing".)
Jesse (Trickster). I don't know if Jesse is the first, last, or only name of this version. I am guessing it's not the first, because both the Captain and Harkness use it. She (that is an interesting change; yay for fewer white dudes on the Rogues, did I mention being grumpy about the guys getting all the attention this issue) is looking distinctly unhealthy to me; we can't see her face under the giant round bubble muzzle, but her arms seem really skinny and also possibly a touch too long. (Also, Harkness calls her creepy; I know that it's not clear if he's Digger, but if he was that feels like it would not be an... hm, an unfounded observation?)
(To be clear; I am using "she" as Jesse's pronoun because (1) at the moment the character is being presented with AFAB physical characteristics and (2) I am hesitant to hold off on using a gendered reference just because the character presentation is (2a) different from my expectations and (2b) the weird/creepy one. Reserving the right to go back and edit this in light of additional information in further issues.)
All told, I am definitely curious about who the Rogues are now, and good grief I do not love the ColdStache.
