Hi everyone!

This is my first Tumblr post, so please be kind. English isn't my first language, so I apologize for any mistakes.

I was browsing AO3 looking for ShikaNaru fanfics when I came across one where Shikamaru's shadow is sentient (it has its own consciousness and is fixated on Naruto, her name is "Shit!" by ANG3LICGRAV3 in case anyone wants to read it.). I found it through the "Nara Fixation" tag, and I immediately thought, "Wow, this is such an interesting concept! I need to read more stories like this."

So I searched...

...and I barely found anything.

Then I had another thought, because I also love ShikaNeji. I started looking fics with a similar premise and...

I FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

And honestly... WHY??? This trope feels PERFECT for ShikaNeji. The Nara clan manipulates shadows using chakra, the Byakugan can see chakra.

SO WOULDN'T IT MAKE SENSE FOR NEJI TO BE ABLE TO SEE SHIKAMARU'S SHADOW? Am I the only one who thinks this makes perfect sense??

Imagine this:

The Nara Fixation manifests through the shadow itself. Instead of the Nara consciously choosing someone, the shadow becomes fixated on a person of its own accord.

Since Neji has the Byakugan, he's the only one who can actually see the shadow moving independently, making expressions, and even communicating with him.

At first, Shikamaru has no idea what's happening.

Meanwhile, Neji is just casually having conversations with his shadow.

Or maybe the shadow starts protecting Neji before Shikamaru even realizes he has feelings for him.

Or maybe the entire Nara clan panics because no one outside the clan has ever been able to perceive a Nara's shadow before.

THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

I genuinely can't stop thinking about this idea, and I'm honestly surprised I haven't found any fanfics exploring it.

So this is my humble plea to all ShikaNeji writers:

PLEASE.

PLEASE WRITE THIS.

I am begging.

I would read every single story with this premise!!!!!!!!

In this entire post, there is exactly zero brain cell being used amongst the characters wkwkwkwk I jest I jest, And ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the scene when Kakashi forcefeed Sukuna tangerines–! It’s beautiful, it’s marvelous, I haven’t taken my eyes off of it, it’s too good!

Im screaming, im screaming at scenes from my own fic. Ahh, everything. Perfect. The art style. The coloring. The way you drew yukatas is as beautiful as ever. The snowflake pattern on Satoru’s yukata is pretty as he stared into Kakashi while he’s peeling tangerines. Satoru disintegrating his plate of vegetables along with Kakashi’s table. Perfect. ObiKaka angst. Perfect. 

You’ve captured every scene with perfect details and attention.
