What? How did you get here? I thought I took all these down ...
Rénee turned to look at the strange man, as she pouted. She had gone for a small holiday in this place and now she appeared to be trapped! She was originally from London, but one of her friends had offered her a ticket as a gift and she decided, that it’d be a wonderful idea to travel abroad, just to take a small holiday; she started to think, that her life was getting kinda boring and she wanted to explore more. This trip however didn’t go as planned, as she had gotten lost from the group (mostly some strangers though, who she didn’t even like, but it was better than nothing, as she did not even know anything much about this country.), who she traveled with. Oh well, she always liked adventures; she was a very rebellious lady, after all. Feared nothing and did whatever she wanted really. “Oh, don’t just stand there, sir! Just get me out of here somehow!”, she yelled at the man, seemingly getting just impatient, as she certainly did not like being suddenly just trapped.
Percival’s eyebrows raised. Her boldness surprised him. But he had seen that before. Only this time, this was more embarrassing than threatening. Nothing could threaten him anymore. But that was in the past, and this woman needed his help. “Don’t worry, sheila, I’ll get you out. Just hold on a sec, I’ll get a rope.” He ventured back to his truck. A large monitor lizard looked down at Renee, tongue flickering. “Joanna!” Percival’s voice ran out clearly, but gently. “It’s not polite to stare!”
Rénee still pouted, but finally sighed and just seemed neutral, as she impatiently waited inside the trap. She couldn’t exactly remember, how she even got in this mess, all happened so fast. She only remembered running across the forest with adrenaline thriving in her blood (as she had gotten lost from her boring group and just wanted to wander alone), then suddenly she fell onto a trap on the ground. Not getting hurt, but only getting her hair a bit more tangled than it was already. Her big, fluffy, bright red hair was like straight from the 80’s. Her clothes were then more of a punk-ish style; she wore a white top, a black leather-skirt, a black, spiked collar/choker also rocking some spiky black platform-boots, which gave her a small bit of extra height. She also had two tattoos: a small skull on her right arm and a MOD-logo on her left arm. She also wore makeup; lots of black mascara and eyeliner, at least. Finally as she started to comb her hair with some small comb, that she had in her bag; she nearly jumped, as she noticed the lizard looking at her. After getting a small scare, she quickly calmed down and curiously looked at the creature, maybe giving out a small smile politely. Rénee wasn’t afraid of lizards, snakes or anything. On the contrary, she liked nearly all kinds of animals. “Uhh.. hello?”, she greeted the lizard, however well knowing that this creature could probably not even understand English or any human languages. Rénee would then continue stroking her hair, until it wasn’t so messy and tangled up.
Joanna tilted her head. But quickly moved out of the way as Percival came back with a rope. “Come on, grab ahold and I’ll get you out of here. What are you even doing out here? It’s dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.” He lowered the rope into the hole.
Rénee grabbed the rope, as she then smirked in her usual mischievous manner. “Well, I originally traveled here for a small holiday, all the way from London, you see. And I was traveling here with this one small group, full of boring people. I was forced to be with them for a while, but I didn’t enjoy hanging with them at all, so I ran away and just kinda wanted to explore places myself without any guides or such. Then I kinda.. somehow fell down here. First I remember just running along this forest and then I fell here!”, she told him nearly the whole story, but as she finally got up, her smirk turned to an embarrassed smile. “I know, it was pretty dumb. I tend to do dumb things and misbehave, without thinking about it first really..”, she muttered, trying to explain her behaviour. She finally realized one thing, turned around to look at the trap and seemed now just confused. “Hey, wait a minute… why is there a trap in here, anyways? Isn’t that illegal or something, even in here?”, she asked from him curiously.
Percival gritted his teeth, a bolt of pain ripped through his twisted spine, a small trickle of blood slowly dripped out of his nose. His eyes glazed over. Joanna looked at him nervously, and nudged his leg. Color returned to his face, his eyes regained their shine. “People do terrible things, sometimes.” He replied. And he began to pull.
Rénee seemingly noticed his sudden episode of pain, while climbing and quickly became concerned as always, if she witnessed someone in pain. After she had gotten up from the trap and after asking her question about the trap’s legality, her concern finally was noticeable and she couldn’t hold it in any longer; not caring about his reply to her question at that moment, as her main worry was his health at that point. “Are you feeling alright, sir?”, she asked from him, with a clear tone of concern in her voice. Despite being a rebel, Rénee was actually very sympathic towards almost anyone. Maybe there was a bit of empathy in her personality as well, as she could sometimes even feel others’ pain, whether it to be emotional or physical. This was rare however, but nonetheless, she was a kind woman deep inside to those, who deserves her kindness.
McLeach wiped the congealed blood from his face and stretched. His back made a horrific squelchy cracking sound. He looked at her, strangely, as if nobody had ever asked him that before. “Yeah. I’m good.” Joanna pressed her head into his side. He placed his hand on her head. “Are you okay? That’s a nasty drop.” He asked.
Rénee nodded as a sign of understanding, but still was worried a bit for him. She finally however just smiled widely and nodded again. “Oh, don’t worry, I’m alright! Didn’t even get a single scratch from that fall! Maybe my hair got a bit tangled up, but.. it already is, so won’t matter.”, she replied to him, with an assuring, kind tone. She finally realized, that she hadn’t even introduced herself to this stranger and finally seemed just embarrassed about that. She blushed, as she realized her “mistake”. “Oh no, I totally forgot to introduce myself!”, she muttered, as she finally offered her right hand for a handshake. “My name’s Rénee Laveln. But just call me "Rénee”.. or “Rén”, “Rénny”, “Renee”.. whatever really! I don’t mind, nicknames are fine too! As long as you don’t call me a “menace”, like most cops and authorities back in London call me, whenever they catch me causing havoc on the streets.“, she introduced herself to this man, who had helped her out of the trap. She finally looked at the man curiously. "And what’s your name, sir?”, she asked from him.
"McLeach. This is Joanna." He gestured towards the lizard who looked at him. "Good thing you weren't hurt. So, are you going back to your group? Doesn't strike me as something you would do..."
