familiaanteomnia:
Sounds rehearsed due to his tone of voice and- remarkably more than one occasion of similar conversation. Questions that weren’t meant to sound annoying but made him want to literally dig a grave to lie face down inside. Refraining from laughing as the scout nodded, the retreating but unable to help a slight glint in his eyes about it. Hunter tried to not think much about the smirk that was forming on the other’s face. Nothing would hide if he got blushy over some random other teen guy he didn’t know. “Good to know it was coherent.” Joking as gloved fingers gently maneuvered one of his unruly hair strands back to it’s spot. “More or less; but I prefer it to some other things and no doubt at least one idiot’ll do the oh my titan what’s with the scar on your face.” Clearly not annoyed even saying that dramatic rendition of it.
“I-I mean, I-- ...I wouldn’t know the first thing about coherent,” Percy laughed, unconsciously mirroring Hunter’s gesture of messing with his hair. He averted his gaze. He felt a gentle wave of heat rise within him. Surprisingly, the witch was managing to carry a conversation with actual royalty. Cute royalty.
Now that it was mentioned, the boy found his gaze drawn towards the scar. It was big, and it looked...old. He shifted his weight sheepishly and seemed to be debating something. Why would a prince...?
A hand suddenly came down and landed on Percy’s shoulder, scaring the everloving shit out of him. He jumped with a shout and heads whipped in their direction.
“Fuck-- geez, Landon, it’s just me! You’re on in ten.” A blond, brighter than Hunter, jabbed a thumb in the direction of the stage. When he noticed the prince, his eyes widened and he froze. “..Your Highness.” He forced out, clearly unprepared. Of all the people he expected Percy to be talking the ear off of, Prince Hunter didn’t even make the list.
“Sorry! Sorry-- thanks Derek.” Percy anxiously ran a hand through his hair and Derek dipped out before Hunter could remember his awkward face. Percy met Hunter’s gaze again and was apologetic. “I gotta...uhm. Yeah.” Nervous laughter. “It was...i-it was nice talking to you, your Highness!”
Imagine if you will a big and large dog. Your not making it big enough in your mind. Okay now it's good. Picture its favorite food is berries and salmon. You want to pet it, don't you? Well don't. What you've just invented is a bear. And you're under arrest for inventing the bear.
TRIP for nathan (ayo thread?)
TRIP : for both muses to road trip or travel together. Nathan hated traveling, for less typical reasons than most people. As much he also loved it in the same breath. That being said he wasn't exactly packing or leaving town for himself. It would probably be a fun weekend but the main purpose was to locate and look after his twin.
Forgetting that Percy was going to swing by- just working on packing a bag. Stuff for himself but he'd also grabbed things for his twin. As he could just tell the other likely hadn't taken much of anything. Sighing as ran fingers through his hair in frustration. Noticing the door open and shut so stopped what he was doing. Oh right, unlocked because he'd been expecting Percy... Who was now here. "Hey-."
Percy’s spirits weren’t that much brighter. The fact that the Prescott had indicated he wanted him to tag along wasn’t lost on him, but the reason for the trip had him worried as well. Xavior had just up and vanished. It wasn’t as much of a mystery as that made it sound, but the motive, outside of general impulsivity, was a total fog. The amount of trouble that guy was capable of getting himself into just added to the urgency.
Still, he’d be spending an extended amount of time alone with Nathan. That was always good. Percy couldn’t stuff away the subtle eager glimmer lighting up his gray eyes. His usual backpack was slung over his shoulder, filled with a few changes of clothes, his wallet, toiletries, phone charger, stuffed animal... swiss army knife, flare, waterproof GPS--
...he’s never been on a plane before, but he has seen Tom Hanks’ ‘Cast Away’.
“Hey.” The boy nodded. He opened and closed his mouth and looked around. “Still, uh-- ..still nothing?” Percy asked. Last he did, all they had to work on was that Xavior had taken the plane. Obviously the Prescott’s pilot could just take them on the same route, but after that, the trail went cold.

DISASTER for hunter (AYO THREAD?)
DISASTER : for both muses to work together to escape a fire, flood, or other disaster. The section of the forest was on fire; he was far too tired to think of how to deal with it. Had no clue if the person who caused it by attempting to kill him, was hurt or anything. Didn't help that he wasn't alone which meant had to also worry about Percy. "We should go that way." Gesturing in a direction that seemed the wisest way out of the area.
It felt like the world had ended in the blink of an eye.
Almost as soon as the scent of cinders and roasting wood was discovered-- maybe someone’s camping nearby?-- the wall of smoke and roar of the avalanche of fire was practically on top of them. Percy was too panicked to realize it now, but the fire had absolutely begun close-by. Hunter was right to think it was an assassination attempt. Who does assassination by wildfire, though? That’s so messy!
His head swiveled around frantically as he tried to figure out where exactly the fire was. The sound of roasting and cracking bark and foliage exceeded that of a thousand waterfalls. It was a labor to even think. With every second they stood there, the more the air stunk and raked talons down their throats whenever they took in a breath. Percy looked to Hunter with widened, glistening gray eyes and had to read his lips. He followed his pointing.
“O-OKAY!” Percy nodded and, without thinking, grasped his hand. He didn’t want to lose him. The boy grimaced and blinked several times-- his eyes stung, his nose stung, everything stung. His other hand muffled his coughs and rose part of his cloak as a make-shift filter; one that he probably wouldn’t be able to keep up consistently enough to be effective. Percy was gonna need both of those hands!
He didn’t wait for Hunter to start running-- as soon as the direction was pointed out, and the other boy’s hand grabbed, Percy went for it. You don’t outrun a wildfire-- you can’t. You run out of it’s trajectory, you run for shelter-- but you don’t outrun a fire. The fire is faster than you.
“DO YOU KNOW WHA-- WHAT WAY IT’S GOING?” Percy screamed above the roar of the flames. As important as it was to ask, Titan did the agonizing sting make him immediately regret it. He choked down his coughs, his grip on Hunter’s hand so tight he’d feel it later. Truthfully, the fact the fact that the other was here with him was a source of stability. Percy trusted Hunter with his life. He knows what to do. If they stick together, they’ll be okay. Percy kept telling himself this.
familiaanteomnia:
Passively, had thought the other had probably left the restroom. So the sheer garbled noise of words being spoken; was all that much more intense on his hearing. Wondering if it was acceptable to wish he’d actually blacked out since at this point it’d be merciful. Then again that would be pretty vulnerable and he didn’t want to think about the consequences. “I’ll live, unfortunately for everybody else.” The sarcasm slipped out without hesitation. But it was also just factual; not many people liked him nor would they even if he was the most bland person ever. Hence why he got into situations like getting attacked when he’d done nothing to provoke aside breathe and exist. Fingers prodding gently at the head wound. If he had been alone probably would’ve cleaned the blood off his fingers. He really did hate head wounds; mostly because of how much they bled for no real good reason. Probably messed up he could rank injuries like that but it was just how his life operated. Sitting up more properly; back, back of his head against the stall door. Nathan’s eyes closed mostly just to try getting his heightened senses under control. Plus figure out all his injuries aside the one on his head; calculate how much it’d suck to heal especially since he sure wasn’t drinking any blood to make it easier on himself. Keeping his eyes slightly open to pay attention to the other’s movements and actions. “Mm guess I owe you witness pay…” Terrible joke but also saying it so he’d remember that actually probably should pay some cash. For witnessing the damned situation. Nathan rummaged with the hand not occupying the head wound for his phone. Quickly firing off a text before pocketing it again. Thumb of the hand near his wound swiping at the trickling blood.
Briefly he turned his head back at him at that first comment. Huh. Jokes and sarcasm wasn’t what he expected from Nathan Prescott. What he expected from Nathan Prescott was only what everyone else told him to expect, and absolutely didn’t include that. While Percy made sure to take second or third-hand accounts of the scourge of Arcadia Bay with a grain of salt, it was still all he currently had to work with.
Well, until now, when Percy finally interacted with him.
The roll rattled against the holder as he pulled and pulled until he had a good-sized wad. He didn’t need that much and mostly stretched out the few seconds to give himself more time to process what was happening. Then came another bit of sarcasm. Percy thought? Was pretty sure it was sarcasm?
“To-- ...keep me quiet?” The boy tried, stepping gingerly back towards the collapsed Prescott. “I’m not gonna, like...tell anyone, if that’s what you’re worried about. Dude--” When Nathan looked, Percy’s free hand mimicked zipping his mouth shut, locking it with a key, and tossing it away. “--...never happened. Don’t even know who you are. ‘Who’s Nathan?’“ Which was hilarious, because everyone knew who Nathan was.
He popped a squat, now at eye-level with the other boy with much, much bluer eyes than his own. Percy noted that he wasn’t too scary up-close. Maybe he wasn’t scary at all? Nathan’s features were surprisingly soft and sweet on their own, but it was how he wielded them...
Percy’s hands were warm with eager pins and needles, though it was hard to notice above the similar urgent, flustered warmth in his face. The honey-like glowing was an afterthought. When he lifted the tissue and pressed it firmly against the source of the trickling blood, however, the glowing flashed.
familiaanteomnia:
He really didn’t grasp why so much insistence; it made him all that more irritated. Bad enough had to run into anybody, worst that insistence of using something to just deal with it. Probably wouldn’t, would also likely be a very terrible idea on so many levels. Likely didn’t help the matter of those words; you can just let me deal with it. Made his brain light up in internal mocking. Nathan bit his tongue for a moment to keep whatever composure he did have. Which on the bright side he hadn’t immediately lashed out at the insisting. Or too much in general. After all, big emotions have been trained to muddle into annoyed and the likes of company that feeling kept. Fingers of his one hand carding through his hair gently; as the arm around him tightened and fingers tight into the fabric at his side. “Zombie bite obviously.” Joke slipping out before he could contain it alongside a little amused brief movement of his mouth. Gone only seconds shortly after. “You really don’t have to- should go back to whatever you were doing.”
For a moment the boy just stared blankly at him. A ‘loading wheel’ spun fruitlessly in his head. Zombie bite? Nathan was joking. Momentarily, Percy looked as if he was actually searching him for a bite. Why was he being so secretive about it? Maybe it really was drugs.
He shook away any clinging frustration with how difficult the Prescott was being. “You look like you’re-- ..fucking dying, so...c’mon. It’ll take like three seconds.” Percy drifted closer and rose his arm slightly, meaning to wrap it around him or something to help keep him supported. The glowing grew to a shimmer.
The moment their bodies touched, however, Percy felt something. It started as a flush of warmth, beginning in his chest and washing down to his...lower half. He paused for a second and almost recoiled in confusion, though ignored it for the present and pulled Nathan closer. “R-Right, um-- ..where’s your....dorm...?”
Percy’s voice gained a weird tilt and he visibly paled. There was a grinding, aching cramp just below his navel, suddenly. He had a good idea of what it was, though he hadn’t felt it for several months now. Hello? What the fuck are you doing here, sir? I thought I said I never wanted to see your face in this town again!
i may be stuck in this body… but i will make it mine. / i will be everything i ever wanted.
familiaanteomnia:
He was the worst person to have problems around, even if his were currently tamped down. Especially because other people’s upset always ripped openings for his own issues to be a brain full of nuisances. Just his luck; if the oh god why are you seeking me out after nightmares wasn’t already itching away in his subconscious. Well naturally the outright troubled blurting out, body language made everything in him want to rush out of the building. The nail racking only made his stomach do a few more flips for extra measure. Nathan really couldn’t think of any reason to stay there. Or anything to say. Didn’t even seem a situation to pretend he could offer any help; also seemed far too in the solo issues to deal with department. Holding back wanting to run fingers through his hair again and sigh. Instead just shifted on his feet and pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the time. Nose wrinkling at the decent chunk of time that had passed. Yet still a stupid low amount of minutes for witnessing everything from dumbly seeking him out after nightmares into far worst. “I could loan you my keys to the school- so you can go hang out in the music room or wait for the school consular at their office?”
Well! Now it was Percy’s turn to have a regrettable breakdown that he’ll likely never address in the future. He’d be mortified later. He was okay with being vulnerable around others, even Nathan, but this was a facet of himself he liked keeping tucked out of sight. Though, this wasn’t quite the first time Nathan’s been there for one of Percy’s episodes...
The good news was that the scratching actually helped ground him. The bad news was that it hurt like hell and he wanted to cry from stress as reality crashed into him. It was so fucked up. Everything was so fucked up. Why was he alive? Was he even alive? Was this just his brain cooking up a bizarre hallucination as the last of his neurons blinked out? Percy screwed his eyes shut, trying to trap any tears that threatened to spill. Holy shit, don’t cry in front of Nathan.
His brain latched on. School counselor, school counselor. “Y-yeah--” The signer flinched at how his voice wobbled. “O-Okay. Yeah, that.. works..” There was no way he’d let himself tag along in this condition. That ship sailed. He couldn’t help a sniffle and repeatedly hit his foot against the floor. It felt like pins and needles in his leg, but very specific pins and needles. At the exact same spots the teeth of the bear trap ate into him.
“T-Tha-- ..thank you..” Percy couldn’t hold back the crackle of his voice as he obviously tried not to cry. He wanted to hole himself up somewhere and hide. Probably for the next week.
familiaanteomnia:
Whatever the case, thankfully it wasn’t rather likely a debate on the matter would occur. Nor was it really his business. Ignoring the urge to put his hand to his helmet at what followed it. “Pretty likely actually and far different from assuming you’ll get stranded somewhere remote.” From some quick math in his head about the statistics of it all. “There is far better medical options that aren’t literally playing with fire.” Ah yes keeping a blank personality; by unintentionally being unable to help wide eyeing at somebody who seemed interested in healing but then casually was like ah yes cauterization is useful. “Far more useful to go with standard methods, even in a last ditch situation it’s playing with infection- permanent scarring and the like.” Not to say it was useless, but very likely if the situation was that dire then the person was probably on death’s time anyways. Sticking the straw into the bowl; trying to still figure out the best approach that wouldn’t reveal anything. It wasn’t that impressive to him but that’s what he figured the first word was about. Not so sure why the latter one though. Just quietly trying to figure out a solution to the situation. Phoenix shook his head at first initial response to the question. Before rolling his eyes behind the helmet at himself. “A spoon would have more risk; plus just be pretty useless. It’s really straws or nothing while on duty and in my uniform.”
Percy idly tapped his hands against his legs and looked away after that one. Oh no. How likely was it? The Golden Guard thought it was likely? And he knows way more about crime than he did? “Oh--...huh, is that, uh...--” Well, now he regretted saying that. The witch cleared his throat.
“Yeah, there’s better, but...y’know....just in case...” He muttered, feeling stupid. Something about this felt different. About him. The Golden Guard seemed a little off...bland, even. Percy dismissed the thought quickly. He was sick, wasn’t he? Who has the energy to be charismatic and interesting when you’re sick?
...they’re making him work when he’s sick? Poor guy...
“Right, right. The whole.. secret identity thing.” He made air-quotations around ‘secret identity’. Percy leaned against the wall next to the Guard and tried not to shudder at the slurping noises. Why was he still hanging around? Truthfully, he didn’t want to leave just yet. Percy felt some sort of pull keeping him close. “I hope it’s good,” He mused, about the soup.
He stood there, leaned against the wall in peaceful silence, for about a minute or two. Possibly even three. In the shadow of the alleyway, it was pleasantly chilly. The kind of relief you got in the shade in the middle of the summer. Even from that deep in the alley, you could barely hear the commotion of the marketplace. Eventually something came to him, and Percy looked back at the Guard. “H-hey, uhm. Why do we have the coven system, anyway?” It was about as genuine and good-faith as a question could be, but there was something to be said about the implications of even asking it in the first place. That wasn’t something you asked, typically-- that was something you already knew. Or, at least acted like you knew. ‘For our safety’ was the bread-and-butter answer he was fed growing up, but...maybe the Golden Guard knew more.
familiaanteomnia:
He froze entirely; just attempting to process though it didn’t help when all his senses were freaking out plus feeling so nauseous that he could very likely just faint. Eyes slowly blinking as watched the other collapse onto his back. Chewing the inside of his mouth to not wince at how intense it sounded to his ears. One eyebrow raising briefly at the words of piss floor, not sure he’d heard them right and as if he was going to ask. “Sorry.” Came the muttered response through gritted teeth. It was all he could muster given he then proceeded to just all but nearly slam face first towards the floor as he barged into the nearest stall. Nathan couldn’t even be bothered shut the stall door as he sunk to his knees. Hands gripping the cool toilet till his already pale knuckles lost all color. Minute of coughing, hacking out some old blood from his digestive system later plus some other things. Shaking while he flushed the toilet before attempting to get up. Did manage; using the stall divider to steady himself but once he reached the opening tripped on not even his own feet. Head slamming into the half open door. “Fuck!” He immediately collapsed to the ground; bag sliding off his shoulder and across the floor. But he was too busy putting one of his hands to the spot. “Of course I totally wanted a concussion on this fucked up bingo card of events, and… yep that’s blood awesome.”
From the horror stories he’s overheard, he expected more of a reaction. Yelling, cussing maybe...hell maybe even stepping on him. Disgust? Something upsetting. Maybe Percy falling onto the floor was such a shock that the Prescott was too dumbfounded to be a tornado. He-- oh, no. He apologized. Percy blinked at the ceiling.
SLAM.
He flinched at the noise and scrambled to a sitting position, twisting himself around to see where the fuck Nathan bolted to. There was commotion in the stall. Suddenly Percy had the idea that he absolutely shouldn’t be in the men’s room anymore and that Nathan needed privacy. Let the man dump in peace, Prescott or not. Clearly it was a dire emergency.
...Dump with the door open. Absolutely. Leave. Leave. This place was cursed. Leave-- he sat up further. Oh, he was vomiting! Percy’s chest twisted with an odd moment of relief followed by further horror.
Stomach bug? Allergy? Percy was just frozen. Not much he could do anyway during...this. He remained. Still on the floor, by the way.
THUNK.
Nathan’s backpack bumped against Percy’s boot. His eyes were enormous. “Holy...fuck, are you okay?” The shock of it all overrode everything else in his system, including the usual screaming to oh my god don’t crawl on the floor towards him! Across the piss floor!
As soon as he processed the blood, the singer finally got up onto his feet and dipped into the stall Nathan just left to grab some toilet paper. “Lemme get some tissue-- jesus christ, dude--” His voice shook with urgency. Nevermind who this was, this was already a comically unusual situation to begin with for either of them. Percy actually forgot this was Nathan Prescott he was about to help.
He wasn’t processing the odd, gold glow pooling at his fingertips either.
Even paying attention to the world around him, back against the edge of the picnic table hadn’t been enough to keep problems from happening. Action to get free becoming mostly doing his best to seem like he was fighting, when he really was just taking hits and trying to not spill the others blood. Until his hand connected hard. Knew he hadn’t broken the other’s nose and quickly used it as a means to get free. Up onto his feet; even as his stomach flipped as the sight and smell hit hard. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, making his way into the school building as it would have the closest bathroom. Just his bad, rotten luck though as once made it in immediately knocked into somebody. Nathan’s stomach made noise which made him more nauseous. “Fuck.” Probably looked visibly ill; not that he allowed himself to have that terrifying thought.
Percy was completely, honestly, one-hundred-precent not expecting someone to burst into the bathroom right as he was leaving.
Calmly walk in? He’d probably have enough time to laugh awkwardly and skadoodle out of the way but Nathan just exploded through the door. He stumbled backwards and actually fell, though caught himself on the tile wall. He looked ridiculous, halfway to the floor with an arm braced against the wall looking like he just slipped on a banana peel.
Wait a second. Oh, god-- “U-UHM.” Of all the people. That guy! Percy didn’t have any history with him, but he’s heard things about Nathan Prescott. And he looked-- ..not good. Like he needed to barf. “Hi-- fuck.” He blinked rapidly, unsure if he should be cautious or just play it cool as if he was anyone else.
Percy tried to get up. Instead, his hand slipped against the smooth tile and he just landed flat on his back. Immediately his face scrunched in disgust. “Right on the piss floor--” The singer muttered painfully. Percy propped himself up on his elbows and eyed Nathan warily. He felt like a wounded rabbit on a serving tray before a hungry wolf. ..Wait, that sounds kind of-- “You ca-- ..just...just go in, I’m fine.” These were the things that kept you up at night ten years from now.
familiaanteomnia:
Given the volume of movies; he didn’t really think twice about if there was anything that might get commentary. Add in just titles, movie cover art seemed fine. Percy would probably just barely peruse anyways. He sure would probably shove the other back out the door if any commentary of, oh my god what type of movie is eight hours long. Had countless plays of that nature, plays in general and well very deeply buried amid everything else indie films. However instead of overthinking, panicking focused on first doing all the locks especially realizing the other was fully distracted. Before rummaging out some comfortable clothes; ducking into the closet to change. Actively trying to ignore some snide commentary from his head. Plus forcing his hands to work, so he could take off his stupid clothing. It made his usual ability to swap clothes; more frustrating and time consuming. Eventually though was in the clear, tugging on the pajama pants and pullover hoodie. Muffled sound of Percy talking through the door and fabric. Quickly tugging it down. Scooping up his clothes, only to dump them on top the laundry basket that was resting outside the door as he exited. “Whatever.” Briefly thinking about measures to deal with his hands. “You settle on something yet?” Glancing at the pile of his clothes, taking a moment to shove the yellow belt beneath fabric. Really tempted to grab something to drink since once he was on the bed; he probably wouldn’t be itching to get up unless something demanded it.
Mercifully, Percy didn’t even find the weirder stuff in Nathan’s collection. Rather, he was looking for anything he recognized. An eight hour bootleg film of a live play absolutely would’ve gotten attention from him though. Eight hours! Imagine going to a theater production and being there for eight hours!
Percy’s distraction was comically easy to capitalize upon. For those few minutes, the entire universe was Nathan’s movie collection on his laptop. He heard Nathan talking, he registered the movement towards the door but a grand total of none of it reached his brain. If they continued to hang out, this would prove to be an alarmingly often occurrence.
He just blinked. Huh, guess it wasn’t that important. As if Nathan could be assed to ever repeat himself. Percy gave a stupid smile and restlessly shifted around on the bed, doing a bit of a wiggle. He made room for Nathan by the laptop. “Yeah, uh-- this one.” A pause. “I didn’t-- Ididn’tcatchthetitle, but it’s got two boys on the cover with flashlights and a lot of fog? I thought the colors looked nice. ...A-And the boys.” That last part was muttered.
Percy glanced to the laptop, then back to Nathan. Suddenly, his eyes lit up in recognition. A creaky old lightbulb finally turned on. “Oh! Cozy!” He chirped, shooting the Prescott a beaming grin. He just noticed Nathan changed clothes! As he did before, the singer reached over and patted the space next to him and tried to look as inviting as possible.
All things considered, so far so good! It was almost easy to forget what he was actually doing here in the first place. Nothing seemed ‘up’ with Nate at the moment...
