Have you ever wondered or thought that if you died everyone else would be better off? Or maybe even thought no one cared? This is PROOF those statements are wrong. These are various personal messages (however out of order) I have sent to my boyfriend and best friend Martin Saunders over the past year and a half. On the evening of January 30th 2013 he tragically took his own life. I as well as his family, friends, peers and even those who knew him briefly still continue to be effected by this loss. If you need something to convince you that your suicide will affect others extremely and is not the only option I would ask you to read this and think twice. I have struggled with my mental health for 6 years but continue to battle and I assure you its not easy but it is worth it. Remember you ARE loved, you ARE cared for and you WILL be missed terribly whether you believe so or not. Please stay safe. I love you Martin.
Bringing this post I did back to light because of recent events. A few days ago a boy from my town committed suicide who was the same age as Martin when he did. Although I did not know him personally the news hit me hard knowing how I felt being the one who wanted to die and being the one who felt the pain when someone else did. Watching friends, family and peers grieve is so painful and if this post can make someone reconsider, even for a second, or reach out to someone struggling its worth it. It Might just save a community or one person a lifetime of pain.
