02 was beyond TERRIFIED to begin with. She didn’t know WHERE she was, WHO she was, or WHAT was happening. All she knew was that she was FINALLY out of…that PLACE. So, when this girl called out, she immediately FROZE in place, much like a deer caught in the headlights of a semi-truck, “I-I’m sorry.” She stammered, hands shaking as she stood there, unsure of what to do.

Nancy nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard someone respond. She hadn’t expected to hear a human voice. Then she was immediately reminded of the last time someone was found in the woods and her heart started to race. “Hey...” Nancy answered quietly, not moving and doing her best not to scare the other person away “Are you alright?”

“O-Oh, I’m sorry.” Calypso let out a SELF CONSCIOUS CHUCKLE, hands gripping the straps of her bag tightly - nervously, “I didn’t mean to freak you out or anything. You just look familiar.”

Nancy mirrored the other girl, gripping at her bag and holding it closer to her body “Ok....well you did. I go to the school, you know, Hawkins High. You’ve probably seen me there.”

It had been a relatively quiet day, which was why Isaiah was so happy to have his daughter home from school. He was never alone, with the company of his angel and of course the ghosts, but it was nice to have an actual human being to talk to too.

It wasn’t exacty unusual for him to find strangers on his doorstep, but rarely ones so young. He ordered Hannah to stay in the car as he got out, eyeing the young woman as if trying to figure out why she was here. “Can I help you?”

Nancy felt relief course over her entire body as she looked to see that the vehicle approaching held a man (most likely the one she had heard about), and a child. Good, if this was the man Nancy was looking for then he might understand her more than the others. He had a child.

“I, uh...” Nancy started, unsure of how to say I heard that you can fight monsters and I have a lot of them to fight “I heard that you can help people with...problems...” She looked at him with conviction, hoping this was the man she was looking for and not just someone who happened to stop by and ask her why she was standing around.

It had been months since Nancy discovered that the monsters hidden under her bed and in her closet weren’t just made up. That they were out there--and they could easily take her at any moment. It was a frightening thought and after being forced into therapy by her parents, Nancy decided to take things into her own hands.

After countless days of research, Nancy found someone who may be able to help her. Someone who was going to listen to what she had to say. She had been standing outside of a house, a paper with the address written on it firmly held in her hands, when she heard the sound of an approaching vehicle.

Nancy was in the middle of the woods when she could have sworn she heard or saw someone following her. She whipped around to where she thought they were, calling out “Who’s there?!”

Nancy was at home when she heard something--or someone--outside. Scared, she grabbed the baseball bat she kept by her bed and dared to venture outside. “Hello?” she called out.

Nancy was on her way home when she noticed someone staring at her--”What? What is it?” she asked, a little frightened, looking around.

“I can’t-” The words seemed stuck in his head, bouncing around the same horrific image, seared into his vision. “It was big, and gross, and, I don’t know, scaly? Maybe? Or just… SLIMY.”

Nancy immediately felt scared for him, she hadn’t truly known Jonathan but she had never seen someone so scared before.

At his words, Nancy put a hand on his back, doing her best to reassure him that it would be alright “Hey” she said as calm as she could manage “It’s alright, ok? I’m here, we can figure this out together.”

Nancy had to admit that he sounded a little crazy. I mean, stuff like that only happened in horror films, right? Still, she wanted to believe him; she wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. So she let out a breath she wasn’t aware she had been holding in and answered.
