All of these sound extremely interesting to me! Especially “Akata Witch” I wonder if I would like it more than “Children of Blood and Bone,” well...here goes a ton more works to add to my Need to Read list. :)  I would love to see more accurate representations of African American culture in YA works, “Children of Blood and Bone” fell a bit flat as far as that goes, to me.

This site has a decent list of some YA works that have been made into movies. I always love to read books, and then watch the movies and see if they live up to my expectations. Most of the time, they do, but sometimes they don’t. *cough* HARRY DIDYA PUT YER NAME IN THE GOBLET O’ FIYAH?! *cough*

I think that teen/young adult spaces should look something like these images. A combination of comfy spaces, plenty of books, and room for computers and gaming activities. There should be a good balance of all of the things that teens need from a library!

I love the idea of color-themed displays in library spaces, especially for teens! Found this idea on Pinterest, the place where all good ideas go to go viral, and I definitely intend to do this one day. Having books of one color (or even a rainbow of books like the other picture) really draws the eye to the display. The first step to gaining YA patrons is to catch their interest!
