Printed silk, before fixation.
We are creatures of habits, but what happens when the routines gets disturbed - sync and unsync. Symbiosis and balance in life. Time. Spare time. Running out of time. A surface for time: The important isn’t what you do, it’s how you value it.
Comfort objects (silk is comfort for Blanca). Sometimes disruptions are just what we need, while other times we need a reminder to stay on track. Checks, patterns and words as inhale/exhale to remind.
Files for digital printing on silk! Week 10 I prepared a silk fabric for the printer. I also prepared these computer files which are based on the Probe responses and my latest thoughts.

“A miscellaneous collection of rare Moroccan rugs from various Berber tribes in The Atlas Mountains. Many of these pieces are hard to come by and offer something a little unusual to their equally beautiful counterparts. They showcase the diversity of colour, style and skill of the artisan women that handcraft each and every piece.” From beldirugs.com
Vintage 1970′s rug from the Berber tribal signed with a car. A rare piece which is “HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE”.

Collecting - Social and class aspects. On one side the blanket has taken a journey from a privileged object to a status symbol. On the other side it is an object who carries a story, it does not have a soul itself but can be a representative for a deceased person.
