Healing Runes for the full moon in Cancer
I asked my Runes what healing looks like for the next lunar cycle and they gave me:
Sowilo (left) - the Sun or sunlight, all forms of expression, the principle of high noon or mid summer, when the light is highest and creations become fully visible and external
Perthro (right) - darkness, the great unknown, the infinite possibilities in the void and internal
Ehwaz (middle) - the horse and rider, a relationship between two complementary opposites, facing each other and working together with mutual trust.
Together these three Runes remind us that the seen and the unseen are a yoked pair, two sides of the same coin. The darkness and the light are reflections of each other. Every light casts a shadow. We demonize the unknown and fear the dark. We create monsters out of thin air when we run from our own shadow. These runes ask for a reconciliation with all that we cannot see.
For the last 3 years, the Moon faced an opposition from Saturn in Capricorn every time she passed through her home sign Cancer. Acknowledge just how choppy the waters were during this transit. When the surface of water is active, any reflection becomes distorted and the depths are obscured.
But now that Saturn has moved into Aquarius, the Moon can work in her element without Father Time’s challenges rocking her boat. As the Moon is busy clearing the water, the level of clarity might be jarring. It can be a shock to suddenly realize your reflection was distorted all along. Or when we get a glimpse of the submerged realities that have been present the whole time.
Unspoken truths may become undeniably obvious all of a sudden. Projections might start to crumble. Now that there is more clarity, there’s an invitation to look - and then to trust what we see.
When I tried to combine all three runes into a single sigil, I kept hitting roadblocks. There’s a lot of redundancy in their shapes, they all carry this similar jagged line, but going in completely different directions.
But when I took Ehwaz out of the eqaution and used the principle of mutual trust as a guide, Perthro and Sowilo fit together like puzzle pieces. I found lots of possible patterns, but this one felt like the campfire and the surrounding darkness.
I will be using this bindrune to help bring my subconscious and my conscious awareness together in right relationship. And to remind myself that the unseen and the seen are always two sides of the same coin.
