…What?
Hmmm?
fox-mcalister:
Fox waited as she got dressed, a small smile resting on his lips. When she was finished, he headed towards the door, holding it open for her. “Where do you wanna go?” He asked, stepping out into the hall after her. “You’re not picky, are you?”
“Not at all,” she replied smoothly, twisting her hair around her finger. If it weren’t for her stomach growling she would’ve turned to Fox and asked for another go-round. “Do you wanna brave the street again or eat in the restaurant? They won’t ask for our keys there.”
Fox shrugged again. “I’m not gonna starve because you’re too lazy to get your ass dressed. “Besides, you seemed so shocked that I’m still here, so maybe I should just leave.” He smirked faintly.Â
Peyton stared at the edge of the bed as if going over his every word. She really didn’t want to get dressed, but she didn’t want him to leave her naked in the hotel room either. “Fine,” she groaned, slipping back into her clothes as quickly as possible, back towards the man she barely knew.Â
fox-mcalister:
“I mean, you can stay here if you want,” Fox replied with a shrug. “But if I leave, there’s no guarantee I’ll come back… Mostly because I’ll probably get stopped in the lobby or something. So, it’s up to you.”
“You’d really leave me here naked and alone?” Peyton asked, eyebrow raising as if challenging him.Â
With everyone away at the beach, Peyton decided to hang back and explore the house. She figured with at least a majority of the frat boys and sorority girls gone it would be the perfect time to run into some ghosts and perhaps gather more in-depth information. She’d recently obtained an old set of blue prints from before the house had been renovated for the college kids to attend and was eager to give the basement another look through. Hesitantly, the girl made her way down the stairs.Â
fox-mcalister:
Fox furrowed his brow at her reply, a small smirk forming on his lips. “We’re uhh… not supposed to be here, Peyton,” he replied, laughing a little. “I don’t think they’ll take well to us ordering room service to a room we haven’t paid for.”
Peyton licked her lips absentmindedly. “Right,” she groaned, shifting her eyes away from the phone. “I don’t really want to get dressed,” she admitted, giving a light chuckle as she stared at the clothed man.  “But if I have to...”
Fox looked at Peyton for a moment before laughing a little at her question. “Yeah, I guess I could go eat,” he responded, nodding his head. “Where do you wanna go?” He asked, standing up from the bed again and throwing on his jacket as well as his sock and shoes.Â
“Who said anything about leaving?” Peyton was far too comfortable to put her clothes back on and brave going downstairs. The room appeared to be theirs for the night; she figured they might as well enjoy it. “They have room service.”Â
Well umm… Aside from Paris, I’ve lived in London, Prague… but Prague was just for a few month before we moved to Berlin. And then I uhh… lived in Sydney, Australia for a while. There’s a couple more places, but I think those are the most interesting.Â
You’ve been everywhere. I’m kind of jealous now.
Is anybody even here?
Thanks for that, by the way.Â
How was your night before all this?Â
Pretty boring.
It’s helping right now–!
Do you... want company?
Fox sensed that Peyton was a little uncomfortable with what he said. Why? he wasn’t sure, but he could tell she was. Putting out the butt of his cigarette on the railing of the balcony, Fox did what she did and flicked it into the corner before turning around and walking back inside. He grabbed his shirt and threw it back on before sitting on the end of the bed. “Do you want me to leave?” He asked after a long silence, looking at her.Â
With Fox completely clothed Peyton shouldn’t felt uncomfortable but she didn’t. She liked her body. It was the compliment that had made her feel... awkward. She didn’t know why. She was a cool person, right? She could be good company. “No,” she replied rather quickly, leaning against the sliding door. “I don’t.” Slowly but surely, Peyton turned as red as a tomato. She’d been a little out of the game for a while. What was the proper next step after sleeping with someone? “You hungry?”Â
“Nah.” Fox shook his head, looking back at her. “But if you really wanna know why I’m still here, it’s because I like you.” He shrugged. “You’re good company, Peyton,” Fox laughed with his words.
Peyton felt her cheeks flush at Fox’s confession. Was he lying? She looked him up and down. He had to be lying. “Thank you,” she said, eyes dropping over the balcony to the people below. How many of them had potential to kill? God, she had such morbid thoughts. With her last drag, Peyton smashed the end of her cigarette and flicked it into the corner.Â
Fox watched as she let the sheet start to slip, laughing a little as he shook his head and took another drag of his cigarette. “You think I wanna go again, huh?” He asked, looking away from her and out to the view.Â
“No,” she chuckled. “Oh no.” Peyton couldn’t handle another round quite yet. She caught the sheet before it fell any further and lifted it up, careful not to rub her cigarette against it. “Do you want to go again?”
Fox inhaled the smoke Peyton exhaled from her mouth before pulling away from her and getting rid of it completely. “What was that look on your face?” He asked, raising a brow. “Do you think I have some ulterior motive, or something?” A small smirk formed on his lips and he took a drag from his cigarette. Â
Peyton could only smirk. She couldn’t recall a time she’d been called out for her facial expressions. Maybe she was losing a bit of her charm. “Everyone has an ulterior motive, Fox,” she said, letting the sheet slip as she stared him down.Â
Sleeper’s eyes widened as Peyton began running, scrambling up quickly as he watched her run off. “You cheater!” He called out, a loud laugh following his words. He darted in the same direction as the brunette, his legs taking long strikes until he was able to catch up with her.
Peyton knew she was going to lose -- if she won it would be a miracle -- but she wasn’t going to just let him win either. She laughed too and turned a corner, glancing back to see Sleeper on her tail. “No!” she shouted, trying to run faster and leap over the obstacles in her way.Â
