heya! idk if this is still active-but i just got the game again and have been enjoying it a lot. been wondering about that pokerus thought,,, the distribution says random, but ive been playing for a while again and have never gotten it. I only ever see the same 20 people cycle through it, and it says its randomized, but the same 20 people??? every day??? some rookies got it 4 times, some vets have had it 100 times (says in their bios), and some people have never gotten it since 2015

Heyo! I haven't been active in years, but based on the Wiki nothing has changed about PKRS since then.

While yes, it is random who gets it, the chance of getting it is determined by how much you interacted with the host. Say for example, I have PKRS and I own 1000 Pokémon in my fields. If you only interact with my party (6 Pokémon) while Sally interacts with all 1000 of my Pokémon, then both you and Sally have a chance of getting PKRS. But Sally's chance will be much higher because she interacted with more of my Pokémon.

This is how people can catch it that often, they click through all of people's fields, raising their chances.

I know that Back In My Days, when I was actively attempting to get PKRS, I often just interacted with all the usual PKRS suspects at the start of the day. They would get it at some point during the day, and I would have a chance to catch it next.

Any tips on how to get Arceus rank fast, or just general tips on dexing?

Considering you need ALL EggDex entries and ALL Pokédex entries, including all legends and all PFQ ‘mons... there really isn’t a quick way to get Arceus.

Or at least it wasn’t quick last time I actually got there.

I don’t know how far to Arceus you already are, so I can only give the most general advice ever. If you need more specific help, feel free to ask and I’ll do my best!

Eggs

The best way is to focus on EggDexes first and keep all the Pokémon that need to be evolved through levels in the first few fields. You’ll spend so much time on hatching Eggs, they’ll evolve by themselves by people randomly mass-clicking you. And if they don’t, that’s a problem for future you.

Use your daily DayCare pickups for breeding PFQ Pokémon, you’re less likely to find them in the Shelter, so you need to use your DayCare for them. Some trade forum shops offer breeding pairs, or you can make a thread asking for some yourself. When people Shiny Hunt them, then they might have some Pokémon leftover that they offer for trade.

For the Shelter, Black Flute is a blessing not just for Shiny Hunting. Any Eggs you haven’t hatched yet are simply called “Egg” instead of the species’ name. God I’m missing all Galar Pokémon.

Summons

Hoard your boxes and only open them when you unlock a new Summon Item. It will have a higher chance to drop out of a box. This higher chance only applies once, so summon that legend, don’t trade it. 

I don’t remember anything about Ultra Beasts. Good luck.

DexTrading

DexTrading looks very alive and well in the trade forums. Be aware, that you can’t expect the dextrades for free. Except if you ask in your About Me for a dextrade and get lucky with someone PMing you about it.

Generally: You should only bother dextrading Mega Pokémon and Pokémon with multiple formes or different evolution paths. Because you need the EggDex anyway, so paying for a Dex only to hatch the Pokémon later on is a waste of ressources.

However, some Pokémon have multiple formes and the same EggDex and some have multiple formes and each forme a different EggDex. The best indicator is checking the Pokédex after hatching something and noticing that the EggDex isn’t at 100% for that species. Or the EggDex is at 100% but the Poké Ball isn’t.

Tournaments

I almost forgot them. If I recall correctly, buying a breeding pair is cheaper than getting the Token to buy an Egg. So if you can, buy a breeding pair instead. But regularly participating in this would make it less daunting on your ressources.

Don’t bother spending Tokens on the current or the last season Fakemon UNLESS they’re the last Dex entries you need. They’re expensive and can’t be bread breeded breed you can’t breed them. The Fakemons from 2 seasons ago and older can be........ obtained through the DayCare. With a breeding pair. (So right now, Season 14 and older.)

Hey! I hadn't been on pfq in like five years haha and just recently came back when my siblings started up again. There's a lot more to the site so I'm trying to figure things out. I recently did an Absol hunt, but I didn't get much from it, so I'm saving up credits to buy a shiny charm from the market, as well as a box. I was just wondering, how much pokegold does it take to recharge a shiny charm, and does the price reduce every time you recharge? Thank you for doing this!

Heyo! Same boat, I haven’t been active on PFQ for quite some time. The Wiki has the numbers on how much recharging costs and how long it takes, though. The cost is reduced based on how many Shiny Charms you recharge at once, not how often you have recharged the Shiny Charm you own. Hope that helps!

do you know when exactly the shelter updates? I know its every 15 minutes, but I swear I saw somewhere that it updates specifically at :04, :19, :34, and :49 (which also seem to be when the shelter people hatch eggs) and basically I just want to know if I'm crazy or not. Thank you and sorry that this question is probably really weird! ^^;

Lul yeah, that’s actually the numbers I figured out like… nearly a year ago. I didn’t write those numbers in the guide, because I don’t know if they are set or if they change over time, I didn’t test these numbers in a while. And it wasn’t important enough for me to ask Niet about it. So take that information with a grain of salt. 

If anyone cares how I got those times: I hunted something that nobody bred except for me, so every Egg I found in the Shelter had to be released by me. If you have a shiny chain, then there’s a higher chance of finding Eggs in the Shelter that you hunt. So technically I should have gotten Eggs as soon as I released them, but I didn’t. So I wrote down when I finally found an Egg and after a few hours it was those times listed that I found them at.

Additionally there used to be some lag every time the shelter changed its content. The lag also consistently happened at those times and was my first “clue”.

You know, looking back it’s insane how far I go just to be lazy and be able to only breed as many Eggs as I need.

What type of info should we include when we have to submit a help ticket? i recently had to do one to change my user and I wasn’t really sure what all I should put in it (other than the super obvious) and I couldn’t find anything about it in the faq or anything :/

We will need your date of birth, please spell out the month because there are different ways to write a date. 2/4/2000 can either be the 4th February or the 2nd April

How To Play EggSweeper

For people who don't want to Google an instruction. A step by step introduction by someone who loves Minesweeper EggSweeper. (And by someone who regrets using green in the screenshots.)

First, the basics. Minesweeper is about finding the mines, but not clicking on them. That's it. How do you find the mines?

The X in the screenshot is surrounded by 8 fields. All of those 8 fields touch the middle one, either through a corner or through the side of the field. If the X is a number, then it means that some of the fields that surround it are mines. The number tells you how many mines there are.

If the number is a 1 then one of the eight fields around it is a mine. This is not helpful as you can't tell for sure which one it is. However, if that number is an 8 then you know that all eight fields that it touches are mines.

Pro tip: Always remember to count the corners. Forgetting about the corners is the #1 biggest mistake no clickbait

Now to the step by step:

1. Click all 4 corners of the playfield. You might find mines, just try it again until you have all 4 corners clicked. Leaving the corners for the end of the game can cost you the game, so do it first.

2. Look for this kind of corners:

Those are what I'm going to call "safe bets". The 1 in the picture is only touching a single field at its corner. It means, that this field is touching at least 1 mine while in fact only touching 1 field at all. You can mark that field as a mine by either right-clicking or a long-press. Find all those corners you can.

3. Look if you can find any mines that touches a 1, like here:

This 1 indicates again that there's 1 mine touching this field, and you already found the mine that touches it. Which means, that all other fields that this 1 touches are safe. Look for such 1's at all mines you have found.

4. Now you need to identify more mines to continue! Do a quick glance-over in case more step-1 corners have come up. Then you will need to look at the higher numbers. You're looking for fields with a 2 that only touches 2 other fields. (Or a 3 that only touches 3 other fields.)

You can tell for sure that the second field it touches is also a mine, because it only touches two fields so both have to be mines.

From this on, it's just looking at the numbers and counting how many fields it touches (remember to count the corner-touching fields!). Avoid guessing, in most cases it really isn't necessary to guess. You have probably overlooked a safe bet.

The game will be over once you found all 10 Eggs, not like a usual minesweeper game where you have to uncover everything except for mines!

I've looked at your pokefarm and since you're an expert, do you have any tips for people just starting out?

well, if you want to be a s/a/m hunter my biggest tips would be to buy the EXP share, pokeradar (and PR+ if you dont plan on getting hypermode) and albino radar as soon as you can (in fact, dont spend gold or credits on anything else until you have those things). the shiny charm box is a really good investment, and so is the shelter pass star, even if they have hefty price tags. stockpiling credits, gold, and canisters in the money safe is also a good idea in case of emergencies (*cough*ultrabeasts*cough*)

but in general if youre just a casual player and dont wanna go super-hardcore into hunting, just progress at your own pace and dont get discouraged. collect whatever pokemon you like and organize your fields however you want! the trade and help forums are useful and theres a lot of super nice people who are willing to help you out if you have any questions, myself included :)

What is your favorite thing about being a mod? And least favorite?

Hmmm my favourite is definitely working together with the rest of staff and helping people! I love getting replies from people to tell me that I helped them out. And staff is just a bunch of really amazing people that are really fun to work with. 

(I also love posting on trade threads and just thinking that I probably scared the person, because a mod posted in their thread. >:3c)

Least favourite is a hard one. I think my least favourite part is how sometimes people like to think the worst of staff. There are situations when people assume the worst about a decision of ours and it’s annoying to deal with those situations, because people in that position will turn around anything you say.
