@whumperless-whump-event Day One: Fishtailing TOS Alan & Scott. 100 words. ~ The rally’s a two-man job and he’d persuaded Scott to co-drive. They were about to overtake Gomez when he swung his car out to block Alan, but then, as Alan tried to avoid him, both cars were fishtailing.

‘Al, ease up and steer into the skid.’

Alan nodded. But Gomez, panicked, braked too hard and his car flipped, and he clipped Alan’s car and they’re somersaulting too…

Alan awakened upside down. There’s blood running up his face but the car did its job and saved them.

He looked across to Scott and his heart froze.

I can’t see

Yes, it’s true. I just had a vitrectomy which has left me with 30% vision in one eye and zero in the other. What does this mean for someone who lives to write? I’m guessing you might know. One month and I’ll find out how much is coming back. Who knows, might inspire a painstaking one-letter-at-a-time whump/angst fic!

Thunderbirds are Go - New AU

So before I put more time into developing this AU and actually writing a fic, I'd love to know your thoughts.

INTERSTELLAR RESCUE 2165 (IR 2165) Thunderbirds are Go AU ©Phade 2025

Interstellar Rescue is a Thunderbirds Are Go AU series. To best describe it in a sentence, the Tracy brothers and their Thunderbirds have travelled through time to the year 2165 (year the first Thunderbirds TV show aired + 200). Scott is still a flyboy, still in command, specializes in interspecies diplomacy and strategy. He is CEO of TRIAM (Tracy Resources, Industry, Agriculture, Mining), the interstellar version of its parent company, Tracy Industries. Virgil has a bionic arm due to a near fatal injury, specializes in medical and extra-terrestrial life forms as well as being the primary operator of the rescue avatars. John is a somewhat reluctant telepath, a genius IQ astrophysicist with a photographic memory, specializes in sentient language translation. Gordon, ever the swimmer, specializes in all aspects of liquid and gel atmospheres and has the ability to shape shift (morph) into inhabitants of both. Alan has an experimental brain implant which allows him to connect with just about anything electronic including the Webz (combined social media streams from multiple planets). He specializes in code, debugging and – off the record, of course – hacking.

Thunderbirds One (Scott) and Two (Virgil) function in vacuum or gaseous atmospheres; Thunderbird Three (John and/or Alan) in vacuum only. Thunderbird Four (Gordon) is transported in Two for deployment in liquid or gel environments and atmospheres. Thunderbird Five has been decommissioned, replaced by Tracy Station, located in deep space. Her AI, Eos, has evolved into an SB (Synthetic Brain) who calls herself Pixel. The family lives on Tracy Station where spaces include the command hub, habitat ring, hypergrav gym, med bay, and aquasphere which includes a liquid pool, gel pools and tanks for Gordon’s use.

Nuclear engines for space travel are replaced by span drives, Mach by SPS (spans per second), hangars by bays, the exosuit by the rescue avatar. The GDF is now the SSD (Solar System Defence). Tracy Island on Earth is reserved for vacations, relaxation and convalescence, the Villa’s infirmary expanded to the equivalent of a trauma hospital. Medical care has advanced dramatically and, as for uniforms, I have always envisioned dark teal.

My Muse is Confused

Innerme (my muse) is big time conflicted. I seriously would like to devote my time to one thing and get it done. I've come up with a new TAG AU, writing the first in the series. Also working on a couple of Marks and Wings, a plain old whump to clear my head, an older brother seeking revenge fic, a fairly long Alan fic (unusual for me). On top of it all, I'm attempting my first (and probably last) fic in a Fandom I've never written for (thanks to LenleG for introducing me to it) and all the while working on the third book in a sci fi trilogy I'm writing in RL. Dios mio, ayúdame!

Paperback Fan Fiction!

Well this is a little weird, but I went ahead and did it anyway! Go ahead and call me crazy.

There's nothing like the weight of an actual book in your hand to reassure you that fanfic is actual writing.
