Michael during Jet Black Heart live always gives me goosebumps. The solid five minutes or more of just the audience screaming for him. The blue lighting that makes him look even more beautiful, if that’s even possible. The low strumming of the guitar, and then his voice mixing with it, slow and quietly at first, but gradually growing louder and rougher as he continues. How he just looses himself in it all for just a moment. How he gives his fucking all, pouring every bit of effort into his voice. The way he’ll sing it softly, but sometimes scream the lyrics with every single ounce of passion in him. How his voice can break sometimes, but other times being so strong and rough edged. How he admires the crowd cheering for him, appreciating each and every one of them, every single time. How he puts everything he is into one verse of a song that means so much to him, and us.
Yes...He’s wonderful in Jet Black Heart!
Nadir: Erik, you cannot simply resign from humanity and create your own rulebook.
Erik: Really?? Are you sure?? Think wisely, my friend!
Nadir: Despite what you think, you are, in fact, a human.
Erik: Prove it.
Nadir: Well, you were born from one. And you move, talk, eat and rest (and cry because nobody loves you)... pretty much like any of us.
Erik: Very good, my Daroga BUT there is something you seem to miss!
Nadir: Erik, no, it still isn't a valid...
Erik: HUMANS HAVE NOSES, KHAN, HUMANS HAVE NOSES.
Nadir: Actually it's not...
Erik: SHOW ME MY NOSE AND I WILL ABIDE BY YOUR LAWS
Nadir: *sigh* you have no nose
Erik: I REST MY CASE. ANARCHY, CHAOS, I DO WHAT I WANT, WATCH ME GO
Nadir: How the hell is this the most intelligent person I've met?
Hey do any of the Phans know if Jeremy Stolle has a set schedule of when he plays the Phantom? I’m trying to figure out when either he or Laird Mackintosh is the Phantom because I really do not want to be anywhere near James Barbour due to personal reasons as well as the fact that I’m not the biggest fan of his voice…
I’d really prefer to see Jeremy, but I really like Laird as well, so if anyone could give me a hand here that would be great.
Jeremy generally tweets as soon as he gets notice that he will be on, but he usually doesn’t get that notice too much in advance. That said, if you are in the neighborhood and can act quickly, RUN to the theater and get tickets if he tweets that he will be on. I’ve seen both his Phantom and Raoul and he is absolutely phenomenal. My favorite in each role. Laird seems to get slightly more notice than Jeremy, and is also an excellent Phantom. Good luck!
Eva Green as Lady Lucille in “Crimson Peak”… oh wait, my mistake, that’s her as Miss Peregrine in “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar”. :P

Crimson Peak Ghosts
Okay so you know how Guillermo said all the ghosts who were murdered are in red, right? But Thomas and Lucille aren’t red and Guillermo stressed the whole “ghosts in red” thing so there has to be a reason for Lucille and Thomas’s ghosts not be red. For Thomas it could be more obvious because he’s redeemed now, he’s forgiven himself and also Edith has forgiven him. But what about Lucille? She’s not red, she’s sort of dark and blue. Also she doesn’t look deformed or anything like the other ghosts. What does everyone think? I understand why Thomas isnt red but I can’t think of why Lucille isn’t.. Can anyone help me out?
This question has been driving me crazy as well–because if any of the ghosts “deserved” to be deformed, you would think it would be Lucille’s. I can only think that maybe she pretty much looks the same as she always was because, being forever tied to the house, she is somehow at some sort of twisted peace? She was always the one most “of the house,” as Guillermo put it–even her dresses echoing some of the architectural designs of the building. Maybe her appearance is not twisted because she is exactly where she was always meant to be. She never wanted to leave the house–and she never will.
The black coloring might be symbolic of her clinging to the darkness that was her life. Remember, she was the black moth–who thrived in darkness. Maybe her coloration is tied to that. (PS: I thought Edith’s mother’s coloring was due to the Black Cholera that killed her. I wonder why SHE was kind of deformed looking though, because she was only trying to warn her daughter. Unless her deformity stemmed from the Black Cholera too–since they did say it wasted her body.)
Ahhh, that makes sense. Yes from all the responses I’m getting I believe that she’s darker coloured because she still has extreme emotion and is still tied to the house. Yes I agree, she’s not red because she wasn’t murdered by negative intent. Edith was trying to protect herself and I don’t think that she absolutely hated Lucille; she was just trying to live. But that is an interesting thought about Edith’s mother. I’d have to take another look at her but I don’t believe that she’s as deformed as the ghosts of Thomas’s wives. I agree with you, since it said it wasted away at her body that’s probably the reason why she was deformed. Thanks for your input! You really helped me to understand more! :)
Yay! I'm so glad to have helped. I really hope that Guillermo has lengthy commentary on the Blu Ray.

The one with the blue butterfly (major spoilers and lots of symbolism)
I promise i’ll shut up about Crimson Peak, but i’m going crazy about this movie and i analyze everything, seriously guys, this is going to be a wild ride. And i don’t know if someone already thought about it or if it’s just in my head, but there are actually two butterflies in the story, the yellow, that represents Edith and there’s also the blue butterfly. Okay, let’s talk about the movie a bit, in the scene where Edith and Lucille are talking about the butterflies and Lucille says that they take the heat from the Sun and when it’s gone, they die. Then she speaks about the black moths and how they survive in the dark and the cold. We soon realize that Lucille is the black moth. Moving on, when Thomas is giving his goodbye speech, he says that in America he found warmth and that in there the future seemed to mean something. I think he was being genuinely honest. After that, when he’s trying to break Edith’s heart, he asks her what she dreams of, a pure soul to be redeemed, a wounded bird she could heal. Later on the movie we understand that he was that dream. Then, when they are already in Allerdale Hall, and Edith says the tea was bitter, Thomas replies bitterly (no pun intended) that nothing gentle ever grew in these lands, that they needed to be bitter not to get eaten, now remember that Lucille said that the moths feed on butterflies. Keep that in mind. One of the nights, when Edith sees the ghost of Beatrice Sharpe, the ghost says that his blood would be on her hands. Whose blood? Thomas? Was Beatrice trying to warn that her son was in danger? Why would she do that, if she considered both her children to be monsters? My best guess, is that Lucille lied when she said that the last thing their mother said to them was that they were monsters. After all, why would Beatrice warn Edith that Thomas was in danger then? Mystery. When they are in the bedroom in the post office, Thomas says he likes Edith’s hero (from her book), and he asks her if he’ll live in the end, she says that that’s entirely up to him, that characters have choices, then Thomas says sadly “choices?”. In that moment we get a glimpse that deep down he feels like he has no choice, that he never even considered the possibility that he could choose what to do with his life and that’s when we realize that in a very young age he lost his free-will, he lost his power to choose where to go, what to do and who to love. After that, they make love and everything around them looks warm, like a sunny place, perfect for butterflies to grow. Later on, we see Thomas shyly trying to raise his voice against Lucille, like in the scene when he says “Can i have a moment alone with my wife?” and tells Edith to stop drinking the tea. And in the moment Lucille says that he couldn’t leave her, and he says to her “i can’t i can’t”, there’s anger in his eyes and the feeling that he’s really trapped there. The big reveal scene is completely the opposite of the other intimate scene, it’s cold and dark, perfect environment for the moths. - Just adding, i’m not gonna get in the discussion of if it’s abuse or not, i’m just stating what i understood from the movie and from the characters - Another important difference from the two scenes is Thomas’ behavior, with Edith he was smiling and happy, and with Lucille, when he comes back to himself, his face looks lost, as if he was numb, as if he was empty. With Edith he was aware of everything, he had his eyes wide open, but with Lucille, it was like he was on autopilot. Finally, when Lucille is talking about the baby, there’s another symbolism. It was born imperfect, now imagine the breeding between a moth and a butterfly, it’s just wrong, it doesn’t work, it will born faulty. Thomas and Lucille were not the same kind, that’s why he longed for something else, he secretly longed for warmth, while Lucille was stronger in the cold and dark. Maybe that’s even why Thomas gave in to her so easily when they were children, because he felt weak away from the sun, because in the end he spent his whole life in the hands of his predator, until the very moment she kills him. And that is the tragedy of it, Thomas tried to spread his wings, but they were broken from all those years he’s been on Lucille’s grip. Going deeper, essentially Thomas and Edith were meant to be, they were the same, but she was stronger because she was raised in the light, she was loved, she knew warmth. But Thomas was born in a cruel and cold place, that’s why he was fragile, that’s why he had no strength to fight against Lucille, so in the very end he just allows her to kill him. Thomas was the blue butterfly and Lucille was the black moth that devoured his innocence, his free will, his self-esteem and later his life. But Edith’s love set him free. ~
Okay, i’ve seen this pic a million times, but then i noticed that the light in his vest forms a blue butterfly. Right in the middle of his chest. (if you can’t see it, ask me and i’ll point it for you). And of course, there’s the blue butterfly at the bottom of the pic.
There’s the blue butterfly again, in the background. When Thomas is confronting Lucille, telling her that she won’t hurt Edith.
Fabulous Analysis! love it!
