The San Pedro Haunting
One of the more infamous haunting investigations was the San Pedro Haunting or the Jackie Hernandez case. Dr. Barry Taff got involved in the case, along with cameraman Barry Conrad, in 1989 when he was asked to look into a house in San Pedro, California that was allegedly being haunted. The owner of the house was Jackie Hernandez, a young woman who also had some emotional problems in the past.
The investigators were told of strange smells, unexplained sounds, moving objects, apparitions, a glowing cloud that tried to suffocate her (and which had appeared in front of other witnesses) and actually witnessed a peculiar, dripping substance dripping from the kitchen cabinets.
Photographer Jeff Wheatcraft hanging from a cord attached to a nail in the attic. This was the result of an attack by the entity
The team kept hearing sounds in the attic, “like a 200 foot pound rat running around”, according to Taff. When one of the photographers, Jeff Wheatcraft, went up to the attic to take some pictures, an invisible force violently grabbed at his camera and threw it to the ground. The team came for a second visit in September. Wheatcraft went to investigate the attic again, but this time took another person, Gary Beihm, with him. While the two were looking around, a clothesline suddenly wrapped itself around Wheatcraft’s neck and tried hanging him from a nail in a rafter. Beihm was able to get Wheatcraft down before he was strangled to death, and he also took some of the few photographs of an alleged ghost attack. The events in the house grew stronger and even followed Jackie from place to place. Taff began to believe that she was creating the phenomena unconsciously because of her emotional problems and what became a strong romantic attachment to Barry Conrad. It seemed that anyone who might be perceived as threat to Jackie’s relationship with Barry ended up on the end of a violent attack by the poltergeist. However, there are problems with the theory that this was strictly a haunting brought on by living subject. The unexplained lights are certainly odd and so would be the reports of male apparitions from witnesses. Also, as Taff found out later, Jackie’s house continued to be reported as haunted long after she moved out. According to the owners, no subsequent tenants stayed there for longer than 6 months. Could this be merely some residual from Jackie’s presence there or was there really a bonifide malevolent spirit? Click for video - The Jackie Hernandez Case
'Jackie Hernandez' during the investigation
-----
Here is another brief version of the investigation:
On the night of August 8, 1989, Barry Conrad along with friend and photographer Jeff Wheatcraft, and Dr. Barry Taff, formerly with UCLA’s parapsychology lab and principal investigator of the now famous “Entity” case, would be witness to some of the most compelling and disturbing paranormal activity. Hernandez had told them stories of flying lamps, oozing blood-like gelatin from the walls, an apparition of a decaying old man, an invisible force that would hold her down as though trying to smother her, as well as a floating disembodied head in her attic. So before they left that evening Conrad suggested that Wheatcraft check out the attic. Not long after crawling through the small hole in the ceiling, Jeff’s camera was ripped from his hands into the darkness of the attic. Expectedly, quite shaken he bolted from the attic. Later he would venture back up into the attic in hopes of retrieving the camera. As he searched the empty attic he found an old dusty grape box, which when opened contained his camera, but strangely no lens. Continuing his search he found the surprisingly undamaged lens behind the trap door to the attic. Jeff decided to see if he could get a couple more shots before leaving. But as he began shooting a foul stench began to permeate the attic and without warning he was shoved by an invisible hand into the rafters. And this wasn’t the worst of the activity. A month later on September 4th, they would be called back by a frantic Jackie Hernandez. The activity was escalating and getting more violent. Arriving around 1am, Jeff and friend Gary decided they should investigate the attic again. Jeff would pay for it, as he was attacked more brutally than the first encounter. Conrad down below with Hernandez heard a loud moan, it was Jeff. Something had grabbed Jeff by the neck and pulled him into the rafters. Somehow able to pull himself free, Jeff and Gary exited the attic. It was then that they all noticed an old cord wrapped around Jeffs neck. It was then that Gary explained that he actually had to pull Jeff off a nail in the rafter and if he hadn’t been there Jeff might have been strangled to death. But there was a plus to the attack, Gary snapped off a photo at the precise moment of the entity yanking Jeff into the rafters.
Jackie Hernandez would eventually move out of the house after the activity became so dangerous that she felt her children were in danger. The following is an update from 2015:
Hernandez left her San Pedro home and returned to live with her husband in a trailer park about 300 miles away. The paranormal activity that plagued her in San Pedro immediately stopped. After her relationship with her husband fell apart, however, strange things started happening again. When she and some neighbors were putting a TV away into her shed, the image of the old man from San Pedro manifested itself on the screen. Throughout the rest of the night, she heard something pounding from the inside of the shed. The investigators were called in again. As soon as they got inside Hernandez’s trailer, their equipment kept inexplicably switching off. Once they started using a ouija board, the table began to shake, and everybody present felt cold chills. The board told them that it was the spirit of a young man who died in San Pedro harbor when he was 18-years-old in 1930. His murderer lived in the San Pedro house. They stopped the session when Wheatcraft was lifted up into the air and thrown against the trailer’s wall. He dropped to the floor, unconscious. When he woke up, he said that he felt something squeezing his diaphragm, and then the next thing he knew, he was thrown against the wall and passed out. After digging through old newspapers, Hernandez identified the ouija board spirit as the ghost of a young seaman named Herman Hendrickson. Hendrickson’s body was found floating in San Pedro Harbor on March 25, 1930. As for the ghost of the old man, Hernandez thought that it was John Damon, the man who built the San Pedro home. She has said that a ball of light appeared to her while she was in San Pedro in the spring of 1990. The ball led her to a cemetery, where it hovered around one of the graves before vanishing. The name on the grave’s stone marker? John Damon. - The Jackie Hernandez Haunting

Daily 2 Cents: Two Years of Mystery...What Happened to Flight MH370? -- Hypnosis Changed Barney Hill’s UFO Abduction Memory -- Three Black Aliens
Two Years of Mystery...What Happened to Flight MH370? The jet, bound for Beijing, took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport shortly after midnight, at 12:41 a.m. local time. About 26 minutes into the flight, at 1:07 a.m., the plane sent its final automated data transmission. Sometime between 1:07 and 1:37, when the next transmission was scheduled, the automated data system was shut off. At 1:19 a.m. came the final radio transmission: “Goodnight , Malaysian three seven zero.” Two minutes later, at 1:21 a.m., the jet’s transponder, which communicates location information, was also switched off. Those two separate actions -- turning off the data transmission system and the transponder -- suggest that someone may have been alive and conscious inside the cockpit. Bolstering this hypothesis is radar data, which shows that four minutes after the transponder shut off, the plane deviated from its planned route, doubling back on itself and flying back over Malaysia, then north along the Malacca Strait, until it eventually dropped off Malaysian radar. According to rudimentary satellite data -- the only data available, since the data system and transponder had been shut off -- the aircraft continued flying for about six hours, until it likely ran out of fuel over the Indian Ocean at just after 8:19 a.m. Malaysia time. The story of the Hills begins on September 19, 1961, when they were driving through rural New Hampshire. At about 10:30 in the evening, they spotted what appeared to be a bright light in the sky. The sighting led to a lurid story of an encounter with what seemed to be an alien spacecraft that took them on board to perform medical experiments before letting them go. Their story became a best-selling book in 1966 and a TV movie in 1975 and was an episode in the 1996 TV series “Dark Skies.” Interestingly, the details of the story seemed to grow over time. According to a series of audio recordings, Barney Hill’s account changed and expanded after a series of hypnosis sessions. In the first version, recorded on the first recording in the archive, Hill described how they spotted the light in the sky, at first thinking it was a star, and then a satellite, then a low-flying airplane. He remembers himself and his wife being chased into a field where they watched the light through binoculars. The craft, as Hill described it, came close enough that he could see humanoid beings watching him and his wife through a window. Then, the Hills left the field in great haste and drove for 35 miles before beginning to talk about the incident. Mr. Hill remembers expressing the fear that they would be captured. Betty Hill later reported the incident to a local Air Force base once they arrived at their home in Portsmouth. The report was forwarded to Project Blue Book, and the couple was later interviewed by NIPAC. Paul Abbott, 56, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to the murder of Jacqueline Abbott, aged 54. She died shortly after being being found with serious head injuries, believed to have been inflicted with a hammer, at her house in Netherton, Dudley, West Midlands,on December 11. Mr Abbott was arrested at the scene after officers were called at around 4.25pm. Detective Sgt Indi Basra, part of the homicide team at Harborne police station, confirmed that Mrs Abbott had been away for a few days and had returned home on December 11. He said: "She and her husband were due to attend a performance of an Elvis tribute band that evening but Mrs Abbott had sold his ticket on Ebay. An argument erupted and subsequently escalated." Police received a call from worried neighbours, concerned about Mrs Abbott's husband fighting with one of their sons, Martyn, in the street outside their home. "We were told someone had died at the property" Detective Sgt Basra continued. "Police officers and paramedics attended the scene and got through to the back of the property where Mrs Abbott was found in the back garden area. She had extensive and severe head injuries." A hammer was recovered from the property and is believed to be the weapon used in the attack. Mrs Abbott's body was formally identified by her son Martyn and she was pronounced dead at the scene. "Her husband, Paul Abbott admitted the offence and was charged with murder," Detective Sgt Basra said. A pathology report revealed that the cause of death was blunt force head injuries and that Mrs Abbott had not consumed any alcohol. The couple ran a fishing tackle shop called J & P Fishing Snooker Darts at the Enterprise Industrial Estate in Brierley Hill, with Mrs Abbott listed as company secretary, and Mr Abbott as director. Neighbours say the pair previously ran a snooker club in the borough. Abbott was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date. - Dudley businessman admits killing wife in hammer attack ********** Three Black Aliens I was in bed awake every night and could not sleep because of neighbors' loud sounds. I stared at a water tower located on Fuller and Leonard NE, Grand Rapids, MI. The object came at an extremely fast rate of speed. It was an eight foot capsule and it stopped in front of my neighbor's window 20 feet of away. It then turned to view my third floor window. It stayed for 4-5 mins. I stared at every detail on the capsule and saw three black aliens. I can remember every detail of the capsule and aliens. After 5 mins it then turned and took the same path back to the water tower. I had seen them two nights before in the early evening. There had been a storm, and I saw them over a school yard. The capsule had come out of a small, gray cloud with pink on the bottom. They appeared for about 3 minutes. There was light blue in the middle of capsule. I saw them again on September 1st at noon, looking to the N.E. sky. They did two circles around a huge white sky. This time the ship was flat and thin and they were much higher in the sky by the planes. The last time I saw them was June 6 of 2015. I saw them at 2 am in the morning and they were as high as jets in the sky. At this time they were white in the inside. But the ship was still capsule in shape. I felt terrified during the times I saw them, and I didn't know who to call or who to talk to about the event. It also happened so quickly that I was unable to get other evidence. But I am willing to take a lie detector test. - MUFON CMS ********** 10+ YEARS of 'PHANTOMS & MONSTERS' & the FREE EMAIL NEWSLETTER

Ronald Reagan's Astrologers & Occultists
U.S. President Ronald Reagan had a keen interest in numerology and horoscopes. Less known is that a certain scholar of occult philosophy had a lifelong influence on the 40th president of the United States. In 2010, Mitch Horowitz, then the editor-in-chief of Tarcher/Penguin published Occult America: The Secret History of How Mysticism Shaped Our Nation which reveals the details:
In spring of 1988, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater acknowledged publicly what journalists had whispered for years: Ronald and Nancy Reagan were devotees of astrology. A tell-all memoir had definitively linked the first lady to a San Francisco stargazer, confirming speculation that started decades earlier when Reagan, as California’s governor-elect, scheduled his first oath of office at the eyebrow-raising hour of 12:10 a.m. Many detected an effort to align the inaugural with promising heavenly signs. Fitzwater also confirmed the president’s penchant for “lucky numbers,” or what is sometimes called numerology. There was more to the story than the White House let on. In a speech and essay produced decades apart, Reagan revealed the unmistakable mark of a little-known but widely influential scholar of occult philosophy, Manly P. Hall. Judging from a tale that Reagan borrowed from Hall, the president’s reading tastes ran to some of the outer reaches of esoteric spiritual lore. Hall, who worked in the Reagans’ hometown of Los Angeles until his death in 1990, attained underground fame in the late 1920s when, at the age of 27, he published a massive codex to the mystical and esoteric philosophies of antiquity: The Secret Teachings for All Ages Exploring subjects from Native American mythology to Pythagorean mathematics to the geometry of Ancient Egypt, this encyclopedia esoterica won the admiration of readers ranging from General John Pershing to Elvis Presley. Novelist Dan Brown cites it as a key source. After publishing his great work, Hall spent the rest of his life lecturing and writing within the walls of his Egypto-art deco campus in L.A.’s Griffith Park neighborhood. He called the place a “mystery school” in the mold of Pythagoras’s ancient academy. It was there in 1944 that the occult thinker produced a short work, one little known beyond his immediate circle. This book, The Secret Destiny of America caught the eye of the future president, then a middling Hollywood actor gravitating toward politics. Hall’s concise volume described how America was the product of a “Great Plan” for religious liberty and self-governance, launched by a hidden order of ancient philosophers and secret societies. In one chapter, Hall described a rousing speech delivered by a mysterious “unknown speaker” before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The “strange man,” wrote Hall, invisibly entered and exited the locked doors of the Philadelphia statehouse on July 4th, 1776, delivering an oration that bolstered the wavering spirits of the delegates. “God has given America to be free!” commanded the mysterious speaker, urging the men to overcome their fears of the noose, axe, or gibbet, and to seal destiny by signing the great document. Newly emboldened, the delegates rushed forward to add their names. They looked to thank the stranger only to discover that he had vanished from the locked room. Was this, Hall wondered, “one of the agents of the secret Order, guarding and directing the destiny of America?” At a 1957 commencement address at his alma mater Eureka College, Reagan, then a corporate spokesman for GE, sought to inspire students with this leaf from occult history. “This is a land of destiny,” Reagan said, “and our forefathers found their way here by some Divine system of selective service gathered here to fulfill a mission to advance man a further step in his climb from the swamps.” Reagan then retold (without naming a source) the tale of Hall’s unknown speaker. “When they turned to thank the speaker for his timely words,” Reagan concluded, “he couldn’t be found and to this day no one knows who he was or how he entered or left the guarded room.” Reagan revived the story in 1981, when Parade magazine asked the president for a personal essay on what July 4th meant to him. Presidential aide Michael Deaver delivered the piece with a note saying, “This Fourth of July message is the president’s own words and written initially in the president’s hand,” on a yellow pad at Camp David. Reagan retold the legend of the unknown speaker – this time using language very close to Hall’s own: “When they turned to thank him for his timely oratory, he was not to be found, nor could any be found who knew who he was or how had come in or gone out through the locked and guarded doors.” Where did Hall uncover the tale that inspired a president? The episode originated as “The Speech of the Unknown” in a collection of folkloric stories about America’s founding, published in 1847 under the title Washington and his Generals, or Legends of the Revolution by American social reformer and muckraker George Lippard. Lippard, a friend of Edgar Allan Poe, had a strong taste for the gothic – he cloaked his mystery man in a “dark robe.” He also tacitly acknowledged inventing the story: “The name of the Orator…is not definitely known. In this speech, it is my wish to compress some portion of the fiery eloquence of the time.” Regardless, the story took on its own life and came to occupy the same shadow land between fact and fiction as the parables of George Washington chopping down a cherry tree, or young Abe Lincoln walking miles to return a bit of a change to a country-store customer. As with most myths, the story assumed different attributes over time. By 1911, the speech resurfaced in a collection of American political oratory, with the robed speaker fancifully identified as Patrick Henry. For his part, Hall seemed to know almost nothing about the story’s point of origin. He had been given a copy of the “Speech of the Unknown” by a since-deceased secretary of the occult Theosophical Society, but with no bibliographical information other than it being from a “rare old volume of early American political speeches.” The speech appeared in 1938 in the Society’s journal, The Theosophist, with the sole note that it was “published in a rare volume of addresses, and known probably to only one in a million, even of American citizens.” It is Hall’s language that unmistakably marks the Reagan telling. Biographer Edmund Morris noted Reagan’s fondness for apocryphal tales and his “Dalíesque ability to bend reality to his own purposes.” Yet he added that the president’s stories “should be taken seriously because they represent core philosophy.” This influential (and sometimes inscrutable) president of the late-twentieth century found an illustration of his core belief in America’s purpose within the pages of an occult work little known beyond its genre. Lucky numbers and newspaper horoscopes were not Reagan’s only interest in the arcane. - Washington Post - By Mitch Horowitz
----- From People magazine - May 23, 1988 The President's Astrologers
The year was 1980, the mood in the nation restless. American hostages languished in Iran; American athletes were sitting out the Olympics. In the White House, a dithering peanut farmer President looked to be wreaking havoc on the economy. At least, that's how it appeared to one conservative society lioness out West—whose husband had spent some time in politics but was now between jobs. She felt she had a better man for the office. Just to be certain, however, she called up a friend, a wellborn San Francisco Republican, from whom she had been taking counsel for several years. The woman, one Joan Quigley, quickly did an astrological chart on Jimmy Carter. Then she got back to Nancy Reagan with good news about her husband's presidential bid: "I was certain Ronald Reagan wouldn't have any trouble with him," says Quigley, who volunteered her services to the campaign and later provided them, on a regular basis, to the Reagan White House. Throughout this association, the Vassar-educated astrologer with country club manners was—as befits a lady—terribly discreet. By the end of the first term, her fellow astrologers had begun to notice the impeccable celestial timing of many Reagan moves, like the bombing of Libya and his announcement for a second term. "I had astrologer friends calling me saying, 'Reagan must have had his chart done,' "Quigley recently confided during an interview in a suite at San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel. "I just said, 'Yes. He must have been consulting someone.' " Last week the soignée soothsayer's cover was blown by former White House aide Donald Regan. In his book, For the Record: From Wall Street to Washington Regan spilled what he insisted was "the most closely guarded domestic secret of the Reagan White House." To wit: "Virtually every major move and decision the Reagans made during my time as White House Chief of Staff was cleared in advance with a woman in San Francisco who drew up horoscopes to make certain that the planets were in a favorable alignment for the enterprise." Within hours, an avid press had zeroed in on Quigley as the mystery adviser. If astrology was the Reagans' little secret, however, it was not very well kept. "I have known since before Reagan was elected that they went to astrologers," says former Washington Post style reporter Sally Quinn, "and that's why I'm surprised at all of the surprise and shock." In fact the Reagans' interest in astrology goes back to the early '50s—and amounts to far more than the scanning of newspaper horoscopes that the President once jovially confessed to a reporter. Quigley was only the most recent of several stargazers to enter the Reagans' domestic orbit and exert the pull of the heavens on decisions great and small. When Ronald Reagan and Nancy Davis were first making their way in Hollywood, it was quite in fashion to see an astrologer. And no astrologer was more fashionable than Carroll Righter, the self-styled "gregarious Aquarius" who counted Marlene Dietrich, Cary Grant and Princess Grace among his clients. Storefront gypsy he was not. A Philadelphia lawyer, Righter had moved to Hollywood in 1937 on the advice of a horoscope, and soon became a true believer. He was introduced to star society at the home of Charlie Chaplin. By the time of his self-predicted death this year on April 30 (he had told an associate, "I will not make it out of this Taurean period"), at the age of 88, Righter was one of the deans of American astrology, his columns syndicated in 166 newspapers. A dapper, lifelong bachelor, Righter was, in a way, the society "walker" of his day, confidante of the rich and famous, who saw him less as a backdoor soothsayer than as social equal. He attended Tyrone Power's wedding in Rome. He lunched at the Brown Derby. His "zodiac parties" in the '50s were the highlights of every season. "All the stars were there—Rhonda Fleming, Marlene Dietrich, Lana Turner, Hedy Lamarr, Betty Grable," says former Righter pal Arlene Dahl. "Fish were swimming around in his pool for the Pisces party, and he rented a live lion for my Leo party." No matter that Leo was once so doped he fell into the pool and had to be hauled out by guests: The parties were adored and so was Righter. As an astrologist, Righter was a stickler for exact timing. He once informed Susan Hayward that the most auspicious time to sign a movie contract was 2:47 a.m., so she obediently arranged for a 2:45 a.m. wake-up call. Righter himself took calls at all hours, keeping the charts of most-favored clients in a file by his bed for late-night consultations. "They need me here," he said. "Just like they need a doctor." It's not clear when or how Nancy Davis—who arrived in Hollywood in the late '40s and signed her first contract with MGM in 1949—first came under the seer's care. By November 1950, however, she ranked high enough on Righter's roster to merit a mention in his celebrity column for Horoscope magazine. "With her progressed moon passing through her 10th house...Nancy Davis' movie career moves steadily forward," wrote Righter between items on Judy Garland, Alan Ladd and Ingrid Bergman. Ronald Reagan, whom Nancy married in 1952, was also getting career advice from Righter in this period. According to his autobiography, Ron read his Righter horoscope while trying to decide whether he should launch a Vegas act. (For better or worse, he did not.) By the '60s, Reagan's interest had turned to politics, and his stable of advisers had widened to include Jeane Dixon. "She was always gung ho for me to be President," goes one story he has told on himself. But at the time, she said, "I don't see you as President. I see you here at an official desk in California." When Reagan did gain the Governor's mansion, however, it was likely the time-conscious Righter, not Dixon, who prevailed upon him to schedule the inauguration for the ungodly hour of 12:10 a.m.—which caused much merriment among the astrologically hip in California. Eight years later, after Governor Reagan had completed his second term, he was considering a run for the Presidency. During this period, reports a former associate of Carroll Righter, Nancy was a regular customer at the seer's sprawling Hollywood Hills mansion. Making her appointments under the name Nancy Davis, she would arrive in sunglasses with a bandanna over her head, in a red Datsun driven by a liveried chauffeur. "Carroll told Nancy that this was simply not the time to try," the associate recalls. "She was very, very angry. When she didn't like what she was hearing, she became really whiny. She really wanted him to explain why it wasn't a good time." At some point in the early '70s, talk show host Merv Griffin introduced Nancy to Joan Quigley, who was a frequent guest on his show. The daughter of prominent hotelier John Quigley, she'd been raised in the penthouse apartment of the family's Drake-Wilshire Hotel. Joan and her sister, Ruth, were famous San Francisco beauties, driven to parties in the family Rolls and regularly mentioned in the society columns. Neither ever married, and to this day they share a luxury address on Nob Hill. After studying art history at Vassar, Joan developed an interest in astrology and was soon writing on the subject for Seventeen magazine.
She wrote her first book under the nom de plume Angel Star because, she says, "my father disapproved of it terribly. He thought it was bunk." But he changed his mind, Joan recalls, when she read the chart of one of her father's friends and guessed the date of his first marriage (along with his penchant for philandering). "When I did my second book, under my real name," she says, "Daddy gave me a piece of jewelry and was really very sweet." He need hardly have worried about her falling in with a low-life crowd. Quigley is very snobbish about her clientele. "People who are very successful or very famous always have easier charts to read than the average Joe Blow," she says. "They've lived up to everything in their charts. I just take people of great depth whose lives are interesting." From the first, Reagan fit the bill. "When I first saw his chart, I said, 'Wow!' I knew he was going to do fantastic things," says Quigley. Nevertheless, his electoral prospects for 1976 looked dim, and though "I did a little bit on his 76 campaign," she says. "I knew it wouldn't work out." In 1980, however, the charts improved. "I felt that Reagan had a very good chance of winning, so I did donate my expertise to the campaign.... If he had been a Democrat, I probably wouldn't have offered to help." Quigley's help during the campaign, however, didn't prevent Reagan from catching some heat for stargazing. In July 1980 he told a reporter about the Jeane Dixon episode and added that he read his daily horoscope. Immediately, a delegation from the Federation of American Scientists—including five Nobel laureates—wrote the President to say they were "gravely disturbed" by the item. "In our opinion, no person whose decisions are based, even in part, on such evident fantasies can be trusted to make the many serious—and even life-and-death—decisions required of American Presidents," they wrote. To which Reagan cordially responded, "Let me assure you that while Nancy and I enjoy glancing at the daily astrology charts in our morning paper, we do not plan our daily activities or our lives around them." But it seems that all that changed in March 1981, after John Hinckley attempted to assassinate the President. "I could have predicted it—it was very obvious," says Quigley, adding ruefully, "I was doing other things." But Nancy, who according to friends and family was deeply traumatized by the shooting, soon got back in touch. "She called," Quigley remembers, "and said she was very concerned for the President's safety and [asked] could I get together with her on a professional basis. Which we did." Since then, the First Lady has been a regular, paying client, though Quigley will not say how often they consult. She stresses that she has met the President only once, in the receiving line of a 1985 State dinner for the President of Algeria. "I know his horoscope upside down," she has said. "But I don't know him." (Ronald Reagan's precise birth moment, which is essential for accurate charting, is a carefully guarded secret, known only to a few.) In fact, Donald Regan claims that by 1985 Quigley's reading of the President's charts had a hammerlock on the business of the White House. Taking cues from her "Friend," Nancy changed the time and date of scheduled events, canceled trips and severely restricted activities outside the White House. Regan was forced to keep a color-coded calendar on his desk to track the President's "good", "bad" and "iffy" days, and on at least one occasion Nancy gave Regan a list in which large chunks of time were marked "stay home," or "be careful" or "no public exposure." For the 1985 Geneva summit, Regan claims, it was left to the San Francisco seer to choose the most auspicious moment for our lame-duck Aquarian and the Russians' newly elevated Pisces to meet. Quigley vehemently denies ever playing such a key policy role. "The summits were arranged by the State Department and Reagan and Shultz. I had absolutely nothing to do with it," she says. "I think people are overemphasizing my role." Still, she's always considered secrecy the best policy in her dealings with Nancy and other clients. "I said to Nancy, 'I hope this doesn't get out,' " Quigley says. "I wanted secrecy more than Nancy." Now that it is out, Quigley claims she has sworn off presidential clients. 'The Entity' Haunting
A 2011 photograph of the house on 11547 Braddock Drive
I originally posted this information in 2011. I was a bit rushed today, but I wanted to give you a significant case history description: On August 22, 1974 at 11547 Braddock Drive in Culver City, California an investigation began that was to be like no other that parapsychologists Kerry Gaynor and Barry Taff had ever experienced. "At the time I had a colleague named Barry Taff," said Gaynor. “We were working under the auspices of Dr. Thelma Moss, but Barry and I did most of the research on this case.” Believing that this would be an open and shut case they journeyed to Doris Bither’s house with few expectations. While in a bookstore, Kerry Gaynor and Barry Taff were overheard talking about the paranormal when a woman approached and mentioned to them that her house was haunted. She gave Gaynor a few details of the haunting, in which Gaynor told her that he would discuss this with his associate. Gaynor and Taff made an appointment to meet at her home to discuss her situation. Parapsychologist Kerry Gaynor Doris Bither, a petite thirtysomething woman, greeted them at her door. Bither lived in the small house with her six year-old daughter and her three sons, ages ten, thirteen and sixteen. The house was in squalor with substandard living conditions and had twice been condemned by the city. There was also an uneasy relationship between the mother and her sons, especially by the eldest. It seemed they harbored dark resentment towards their mother, most likely as a result of their living conditions. Young minds unconsciously troubled by physical and/or verbal abusive and in a negative environment are lightning rods for paranormal activity that can manifest into psychosomatic or poltergeist activity. Gaynor said that during the initial meeting a two-hour interview was conducted. Gaynor realized fairly soon that she was holding something back. “I kept pushing her," said Gaynor. "Finally she said that a ghost had raped and beat her. Barry and I laughed when we left her home, and I thought she was probably off her rocker. But she called me back a few days later and said that several people visiting her had seen an apparition. This is what we're always looking for...independent verification of the phenomena. I'm a scientist and that's how I approach it. I don't take their stories at face value. Their story is the beginning and I don't discount it, but I'm there to experience the phenomena and document it."
Recent photo of Dr. Barry Taff During the second visit by Gaynor and Taff, it was starting to become apparent that this was not a simple haunting. Doris claimed that spirits would physically attack her, either bumping into the ghosts while walking through the house or actual spectral rape on occasion. Gaynor and Taff were still skeptical of these claims until they saw the dark bruises on her inner thighs and over much of her body. Doris’ eldest son did admit to seeing his mother being tossed around the room. In one instance he tried to intervene and was thrown across the room by the unseen force. Doris claimed that the spectres were Asian men and that the children had also witnessed the manifestations. The sightings were so frequent that the children dubbed one of the more prominent spirits as “Mr. Whose-it.” People outside the family corroborated through testimony that they had also seen apparitions. Gaynor and Taff did witness some visual phenomena. "We were seeing little pops of light," said Gaynor. "It would happen quickly. We would try to shoot the camera, but they were happening too quickly and we just couldn't catch them. We were shooting with a Polaroid and with a 35mm camera." How could these investigators prove “spectral rape” or even claim it? The team decided to setup at the location and brought in high-speed cameras and photographers as well as other investigators to help capture something on tape. In the report, all the investigators and equipment, as well as Doris, were in her small bedroom. Uncomfortable and anxious to see any paranormal activity, they decided to have Doris call out to the spirits. Doris began swearing and yelling at the spirits while the investigators hoped for any evidence. Very soon small lights started to manifest throughout the room. As Doris continued to bait the entities, a greenish mist started to form in a corner. The green mist started swirling and growing quickly forming a visible upper torso of a man...very large and defined with muscles was reported. One of the investigators fainted after witnessing the manifestation. Unfortunately, none of the equipment was able to capture the definition of the form, only free floating arcs of light.
The most famous of these photographs is the one that shows Doris sitting on a bed, investigators surrounding her and the free floating arc of light in the middle of the picture. The arc of light appears smooth, even though this is a room with corners and one would expect bends in the arc as when someone uses a projector to display an image and the image hits corners in a room. If this were the case, the image would bend. The photographic evidence produce by the team shows the arc of light floating above Doris with no bends, even though behind it is the room’s corner. There was also more common poltergeist activity noted during the investigation. “I was standing in the kitchen talking to the woman's 16 year-old son when a lower cabinet door slammed open and a pan came flying out," said Gaynor. “It flew out and landed about three or four feet from the cabinet. I immediately tore the cabinet apart to see if there were any tricks, or if anyone was hiding in the cabinets. But there was nothing.” Not long after this occurred Doris screamed, “it's in the bedroom.” Gaynor explains “we ran in there and that's when all the lights started happening. That's when we got the Polaroid shots. Again Doris shouted, 'the ghost is in the comer'. We snapped the picture, but it was bleached out and not very interesting. She shouted again, 'it's in the corner' and again the photo was bleached. At this point, I thought the camera wasn't working. So I took two control pictures. I asked her if the ghost was gone. She said yes. The picture came out perfectly. A few seconds later I took another one….perfect picture. But then we got the most interesting Polaroid. Doris said, 'It is right in front of my face.' Those were her exact words. So we took a shot. And in the photo you can see the curtains and the buttons on her dress, but her whole face is obliterated. We took a second picture when she once again said, 'it's right in front of my face.' Amazingly, her face was obliterated again, but you could see details in the rest of the picture.”
The investigative team observed lights and poltergeist activity for about two and a half months. As time went by, the activities decreased. Doris was attacked about 15 times during the ten-week investigation. "But she got stronger," said Gaynor. "And she was able to realize that she wasn't crazy and that there really was something going on. She got stronger, and in my opinion, she outlasted it." Doris moved five times, but the attacking entity followed her. She eventually moved further away. "As she moved," Gaynor said, "the phenomena diminished, and after about two years the attacks stopped altogether.” Regardless of the evidence a few factors must be pointed out. Barry Taff notes that Doris moved from Culver City to Carson, CA. Then from Carson to San Bernadino, CA , then from San Bernadino to Texas. She eventually found her way back to San Bernardino. Doris reported that the phenomenon followed her and the family to every place they moved. This seems to support the theory that the poltergeist activity was a manifestation of the unstable environment and diseased mind. Doris was addicted to alcohol and she was very abusive and belligerent on a daily basis. Her refusal to deal with her own personal issues intensified negative energy in the home that eventually manifested as poltergeist activity. According to the reports paranormal activity was more intense ONLY when Doris was present in the home. Doris’ intoxication would attract the desired phenomena. It was also noted there were times when Doris was present with the team and sober. As expected the activity did not manifest during these periods. Because of the negative energy provided by Doris’ addiction and temperament combined with the resentment of her son’s towards her because of the abuse and poor living conditions it is rather easy to see why dark entities were attracted to the location. NOTE: According to her son, Brian Harris, Doris McGowan Bither had a very turbulent upbringing. Both her parents were alcoholics and were not suited in providing a well-rounded environment for a child even though she was raised in an upper middle-class family. Harris states, “living in that home was hell.” “…we all experienced some form of attack.” “…there were about 4 entities in the home, and they made themselves known by appearing all the time.” “…we were so used to the poltergeist, that we just got to a point where we wouldn’t even care.” Harris continues, “The rapes were real. My room was right next door to my mother’s. I would hear the attacks happening. Things being thrown and her screaming.” “…she would come out of the bedroom and have all these bruises on her legs, her inner thighs.”“…there were times where we would see it happen in front of us. It was like if a man was standing in front of my mother and would start to beat her. You could see her being picked up and thrown around. Sounds of slaps…but there was no one there to actually do it.”
Actress Barbara Hershey played the role of Carla Moran in the Hollywood film version of "The Entity" Harris disagrees with many of the assessments made by the investigation team as well as how they were treated. “…well it was hell. Between Barry’s team of 30 or so people crammed in a small, and I mean, small room. Cheering and yelling at this thing. I was in the next room trying to watch television. I tried to mind my own business.” Harris continues, “The investigation lasted about 2 or 3 months, but it wasn’t like Barry was there every single day. So for him to say that this could have been some sort of telekinetic thing that my mother was creating is all bullshit. She didn’t want to have this happen….it’s a possibility, but it’s not like he knew what we were really going through. He was only there for three months. And from that, he would show up every Thursday or so.” “…when the team would show up, I knew as soon as they left, they (the entities) would become so angry that the house would come alive!”“The place we moved to was hell….in the bad part of Carson, CA. There was very little paranormal activity happening. It was hell because of the neighborhood. It was a bad neighborhood and school. The paranormal stuff was very rare at that point.” Harris says that his mother passed away in 1995, from pulmonary arrest. The book 'The Entity' written by Frank deFelitta (and subsequent film by the same title) was based on this case.

Daily 2 Cents: Female Werewolf in Iraq -- 116 Sheep Killed in Sussex, UK -- Explosion Sounds Erupting in East LA County
Female Werewolf in Iraq Chris called in to tell of something his friend saw while serving in Iraq:
“My buddy was in Iraq about 10 years ago, something like that. He always tells this story about, he thinks he saw a werewolf but this is definitely a female werewolf, right. How he knows this – it sounds gross but I don't know how to describe it in a better way. He rescues dogs and some of them are neutered so that time of the month happens – he said that this werewolf, it had the female attributes. It had boobs. And also it's smell. It smelled like that time of the month. I don't know how to explain that in the right way but he said he knows. It was on the side of the road and they stopped on the side of the road and it crossed right in front of them. They were in a truck or a car or something. And they got out of the car and it turned around and looked at them and it came, I'm saying, well, he's saying, three feet away. This thing comes up to him and it stinks like so bad and he can't even... the only thing he describe was like a dirty dog, like he would get from a pound (Art Bell cuts him off to end the show).”

The sheep, many of them pregnant, had been herded by dogs into a tight group against a fence and gate where they panicked and either died from shock or were crushed in the flock, police said. The horrific discovery was made by farmer Gordon Wyeth at the West Dean Estate, near Chichester, early on Monday afternoon. A total of 116 sheep, worth about £17,000 to Mr Wyeth, died in the field just north of the A286, near the old railway bridge at the eastern end of the village. Sergeant Tom Carter from Sussex Police said: “I have never seen or heard of sheep-worrying on this scale before and this was a terrible sight. “While there are no signs of any of the animals being savaged, we are all but 100 per cent certain that their deaths were brought about by dogs. “The flock was last checked around lunchtime on Sunday, so the incident could have occurred at any time over the next 24 hours. “However, if as we suspect it was a dog attack, it may well have happened in daylight and we want to hear from anyone with information about it. “This is not just about Mr Wyeth’s livelihood - and it will cost him at least another £2,000 to dispose of the carcasses - but also his emotional attachment to the animals that he has raised and nurtured.” James Osman, the National Farmers’ Union adviser for Sussex, said: “This is the worst incident of its kind in living memory and talking to colleagues around the country, the number of deaths is double what we have come across in the past. “We are in full support of the police’s efforts to discover whose dog or dogs were responsible and urge anyone with information to get in touch with them.” Sgt Carter added: “We have seen a rise in sheep-worrying incidents and as Spring approaches more dog owners will be heading for the countryside to exercise their pets. “We urge people to keep their dogs on a lead while they are walking in rural areas and around livestock. “So often in these incidents the owners are horrified by what their dogs have done, but they have to accept that even the most docile of pets can quickly turn into a killer given the opportunity.” “A farmer can legally shoot a dog that is chasing livestock and seek compensation from the person responsible for the animal, so please don’t take the risk.” - 116 sheep killed in Sussex in ‘UK’s worst attack’ ********** 'Mountain Ape' Encounters A while ago someone posed a question about why there aren’t any Sasquatch stories from any of the early Rim Country pioneer families. The short answer is… there are. There are not as many as we might think there would be, but there are a few. Even long before we came along, the Native American tribes all had legends of “the hairy man,” who lived deep in the forests and came out only at night. These beliefs and legends persist to this day among tribal traditionalists. I had the distinct honor and privilege last year of spending some time with some of these folks, who trusted me enough to be completely open in telling me about their Sasquatch-related knowledge and what they believe… stuff that has been handed down over many generations. It was an experience that I will always remember. One of the earliest stories I have found from the first Rim Country pioneers was a daytime encounter by David Gowan, who is credited with the “discovery” of the Tonto Natural Bridge. Gowan spent his later years living in a remote cabin on a mining claim along upper Deer Creek, in the Mazatzal Mountains west of the present Deer Creek Village community. He actually died up there in 1925, and is buried next to the Deer Creek hiking trail, a few miles up from the trailhead. As the story goes, Gowan was walking the trail down off the mountain, leading a string of pack burros with ore from his mine, when he came upon two very large “mountain apes” blocking the trail. Gowan and the creatures stood facing each other for awhile, and when they appeared unwilling to move Gowan simply led his burros off-trail, making a wide circle around the creatures, and continued on his way. Later, after Gowan died, people using his old cabin reported being screamed at and having the cabin pelted with rocks during the night, which is common Sasquatch territorial behavior. Apparently a family group had settled in the area, and didn’t appreciate the human visitors. Gowan’s old cabin burned in the Willow Fire in 2004, and subsequent flash floods have virtually destroyed the once-idyllic site, leaving only a small part of the stone foundation still visible. He immediately asked his sister if she'd slapped his bedroom wall. "She said she didn't, so I automatically blamed the train," Arevalos, who lives near train tracks, told VICE. Then on Thursday around midnight, two similar sounds woke up Arevalos's father, and when father and son spoke about it in the morning, the younger Arevalos became convinced it was something abnormal. "This time as soon as I heard it, and heard the walls shake a bit, I listened for the train, but didn't hear anything," adding, "I can tell the difference now [between] the train and the booms." Arevalos is far from alone. According to the local news site Alhambra Source, residents first reported hearing the booms on February 16 when a woman named Noelle Dominguez alerted her neighbors to them in a private section of the community social network nextdoor.com. "I know this sounds weird. But since [I've been] living in Alhambra, every other night or so I hear a loud explosion-like noise," she wrote. What Hit My Car?
Abby in Wisconsin called in to Midnight in The Desert with Art Bell to tell of the time she hit something on the road:
“I had a really weird experience about three months ago while driving home. I had to move my mom from Minneapolis to Madison (Wisconsin) and I was driving home on one of my trips, moving her stuff alone. It was about 1 AM and I was in the middle of nowhere. I wasn't in a town or anything and I was really tired because I had been driving all day and all of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I distinctly saw a person running out of the woods straight towards the side of my car. I was going about 65 and I thought okay, I've been driving too long and now I’m seeing things. All of a sudden 'SMACK' into the side of my car. I was terrified. It was pitch black out there, there was no traffic. There's nobody around and there's nothing near me. I was just in the middle of nowhere. This came out of the woods. It ran into the side of my car. My car was dented. It hit me so hard. Out of the corner of my eye – I was really tired so I don't know what it was I saw but I could have sworn it was on two legs and it was probably about 6 feet tall or taller. In the corner of my eye what I thought I saw was a man wearing a grey sweatshirt and a hood. (Art asked if she stopped her car) I was too scared. I was in the middle of nowhere. I didn't understand why someone would come out of the woods and run straight into my car when there's no traffic or anything. If they needed to cross the street, why would they wait until there was car coming? So I thought, I should call the police. Then I thought, what did I just see? What was that? What do I say to the police, that somebody darted out of the woods and ran into my car? So I drove home. I was probably about 30 or 40 minutes away and I was shaking, I was scared. I don’t know what had just happened to me. I got out to see if there was damage to my car. I thought about calling the police and I decided it had to be an animal because there was nothing around there. So the next day I looked in the papers and I looked through everything to see if there were any dead bodies in the road because that would have made the news and there wasn't – nothing. So I don't know if it was an animal or what it was. Another thing that was terrifying was that it was running very fast – very fast! That's why I thought it couldn't have been a person. I knew not to stop. I was going about 65. No blood. No hair. I checked for blood because I thought maybe I hit somebody. No blood but you can see the dent. It's on the driver's side of the car, that's where it smacked into me. You can definitely see the dent but it wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be. You can see it but it wasn't like serious damage to the car or anything.” (Crypto reearcher Linda Godfrey, the guest, noted that she had received similar dogman type reports in which something was observed on the side of the road, and the witnesses thought they were looking at somebody wearing a hoody only to realize, as they got closer, it was something else.)

Dayton's 'Death Lane': Layton Hines & 'Jack the Strangler'
The victim, Anna Markowitz
The following information was published nationwide during August 1970. It's not a paranormal related post...but it does offer glimpses into crime & justice at the turn of the 20th century. Unfortunately, much of what happened back then is relevant today:
Anna Markowitz, Horribly Killed by the Mysterious Man-Gorilla of "Death Lane" Dayton, Ohio, August 12. On the outskirts of Dayton is a wooded spot bathed in human blood that is more to be dreaded by women and young girls than the darkest areas of Africa. So many are the hideous crimes committed along its shady paths that the place has become known as "Death Lane." After dark it Is the hiding place of some unknown beast In human form, whose fiendish delight is to pounce upon innocent and helpless victims. Pretty Anna Markowitz was the last to fall into the clutches of this mysterious man-gorilla. With the death of Abraham Cohen, her companion, the crime becomes a double murder. Intensified in horror by the assault alleged to have been committed upon the young woman before she was strangled. Cohen, a traveling salesman, had gone for a stroll with the Markowitz sisters, Anna and Bertha. They were seated in a grove near the Soldiers' Home. As the three chatted together pleasantly two shots were heard. Cohen ran to the road. He fell fatally wounded by two bullets. An unknown monster rushed upon the girls. Bertha fled until she sank unconscious to the ground. Strangled Anna was found, strangled to death, and mutilated. Evidence pointed to a fearful struggle. The clothing had been nearly torn from her body. The arms were crowded down over the eyes, as if to shut out a horrible picture. Last fall the bruised form of beautiful Dona Oilman was found only a short distance away, and within the last several weeks there have been three other assaults in the same vicinity. Who is this mysterious stranger whose special prey are young girls? Such Is the question that is causing brave men to shudder and women to spend sleepless nights. Whether he is half man - half maniac, who is of good appearance in daily life, but occasionally lapses into a sort of beast, or a mental and moral degenerate of uncommon appearance - certain it is, the residents of the neighborhood cannot rest in peace he roams at large.
NOTE: After coming across this previous article, I wondered why the perpetrator was referred to as a 'man-gorilla.' I checked the history of the "Death Lane" murders...and found the following. The reason for the moniker was quickly apparent: In the summer of 1907, the murder of an 18-year-old Jewish woman in Dayton made the newspapers around the country and abroad. Anna Markowitz, her sister Bertha and their friend, Abraham Cohan, were walking home at night from the recreational park at the Soldier’s Home. During the way, they heard gunshots and were chased by a man. Bertha escaped but Abraham was shot and would die of his wounds two days later. According to Bertha’s testimony, the attacker caught Anna; she was found strangled to death. Authorities arrested and put Layton Hines on trial. During the trial, the young African-American confessed to killing Anna and Abraham. The facts in the Hines trial were murky. “He was accused of rape and murder,” Heckman said, “but he’s not charged with the murder of Abraham Cohan as part of the same incident, and if I remember correctly, they’re not specifically charging him with the rape. It begs a lot of questions if you delve into the case. Was Layton Hines a scapegoat or not?” A group that was outspoken in support of Hines in the courtroom was the Ohio African American Protective Association. Josh Cain, program manager for the Old Court House and other Dayton History sites, said the jury consisted of only white men, which was the practice at the time. Dr. Charles H. Clark, superintendent of the Cleveland Hospital of the Insane, championed the theory in 1909, and several newspapers covered the serial killer angle, including The New York Times. Anna’s brothers were initially believed to have committed the crime, then Hines ‘confessed.’ Newspapers took sides, the defense accused the sheriff, prosecutor and coroner of ‘coercing’ the confession from Hines.” Heckman said there was contradictory testimony from witnesses among those called by the prosecution and defense. A small Dayton Daily News article also stated the members of the Jewish Race rarely murder, in reference to Anna’s brothers when they were suspected of her murder. Too bad the local press seemed to have prejudged the defendant. NOTE: Ohio vs. Layton Hines - The case featured the 1907 trial of Hines for the killing of Anna Markowitz. This is a case where Dayton police arrested Hines on circumstantial evidence...but many in the national press reported the police had “misgivings” about Hines guilt. The misgivings later fed into press reports that the Markowitz murder was one committed by the serial killer dubbed ‘Jack the Strangler’ by the national tabloid news. A book was written by Brian Forschner which described 'Jack the Strangler' and the Hines trial - Cold Serial: The Jack The Strangler Murders The description of the book reads:
"Cold Serial" is narrative non-fiction that tells of five girls who were raped and murdered in Dayton, Ohio, and possibly victims in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the early 1900s. Their deaths left a legacy of better protection for the safety and rights of women, led to the annexation of large areas into what is now modern day Dayton, initiated restructuring of the Dayton Police department, led to the creation of the first chamber of commerce in the United States, and involved intriguing relationships with what is still a major United States company. These stories provide the background and lay the groundwork for understanding social issues facing women today, such as rape, assault, and discrimination, and the impact of religion, politics and the media. Telling their stories is doing the work of justice.

Daily 2 Cents: Best UFO Photo Ever Taken? -- Two Strange Men and an Alien -- Trapped Chinese Woman Dies in Elevator
Best UFO Photo Ever Taken? John Macdonald from Scotland managed to take an impressive picture of a strange, brightly lit object. The 65-year-old had been driving home along rural roads in Perthshire at around 11pm on the night of February 28 of this year when he suddenly heard a peculiar noise coming from above his car. When he looked up he caught sight of an enormous object with multiple rows of brights lights that seemed to be hovering just overhead. Astonished, he grabbed his camera and snapped a picture. The undeniably impressive photograph, which looks like something out of the Steven Spielberg classic 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', has since generated a lot of debate online. "It’s definitely a spacecraft of some sort," Macdonald told The Courier. "I don’t know whether I frightened it or not with the flash of the camera, because in the beat of a heart it was gone." "I always thought there was something out there, but have never seen anything until now." Read more at Best UFO Photo Ever? ********** Chinese woman found dead after month trapped in elevator A Chinese woman died after being trapped in an elevator for a month because maintenance workers shut off the power supply after failing to properly check if anyone was inside, state media reported Sunday. Workers came to repair a malfunctioning elevator in the northern city of Xi'an on January 30, Beijing Youth Daily cited local authorities as saying. The crew found the elevator stuck between the 10th and 11th floors, shouted to ask if anyone was there, and cut the power, it said. The workers left for the week-long Lunar New Year holiday and did not return until March 1. The government said the investigation found the death was due to a grave error by the maintenance company for not opening the car before cutting the power, and not verifying after the power was off whether there was anyone inside. The deceased woman, 43, reportedly lived alone in building. China is prone to safety accidents as regulations and standards are often flouted and enforcement is lax, sometimes due to corruption. Police investigating the incident found no evidence of trauma and have ruled out homicide, Beijing Youth Daily said. Last July, a woman was killed after she plunged through flooring over an escalator in a Chinese department store. Security camera footage of the incident posted online showed a panel in the floor giving way as the woman stepped off the escalator. As she fell half-way through she pushed her son forward, and a nearby shop assistant dragged him to safety. - Chinese woman found dead after month trapped in elevator ********** Two Strange Men and an Alien Los Osos, CA - 7/1994: A friend and I were just coming back from a hike at Montana de Oro state park. It was sunset and the wind was blowing pretty good and the stars were beginning to come out. We passed two men in these big long jackets, which I thought was odd for that time of year. We decided to get out of the wind by sitting in a little nook that was washed out from the rain inside the cliff so our heads were about ground level and the beach was down below the cliff. The 2 men kept drawing my attention by making something spark it seemed or a spark was coming from somewhere. Then, after the 3rd spark or so the biggest, brightest light I've ever encountered flashed so big and it was in the shape of a cylinder. Inside the cylinder of light was a small gray alien. I was shocked, frightened and yelled RUN!! All three of them saw us get up and run, we were about 200 ft away. We drove back in to San Luis Obispo and pulled in to a parking lot. I asked my friend to tell me what she saw and made her draw a picture as well. She drew the typical alien head with large eyes. I was still pretty shaken and at first I thought it was a small naked child and some ritual was about to take place but my friend is a pediatrician and exclaimed, "that was no child". I've tried to put this behind me because you just can't talk to anyone about this stuff. I went back the next morning to see if I could try and make sense of it all but nothing. I started listening to Coast to Coast years ago and it brought back the memory and so I called my friend and we have since discussed it. Her story is a little different for she saw 3 glowing red rods hovering in or around the being. I've since had 2 more encounters. One craft sighting last year in the same area along with another witness and right after the alien incident I had a small glowing little orb fall from my ceiling in my living room one evening. I've been wanting to tell this for so long. - MUFON CMS **********

Ghostlike Octopus From the Deep Shocks Scientists (NEWSER) – NOAA scientists exploring the ocean depths off the coast of Hawaii may have just discovered a new species of octopus, and boy is it adorable. Gizmodo describes the tiny creature as something out of Pixar or Pokemon, while a NOAA blog post calls it ghostlike. But a scientist overheard on a video of the cephalopod may have summed it up best: "Beautiful." In addition to looking super cool, the creature is believed to be the deepest finless octopus ever seen, Forbes reports. NOAA's remotely operated vehicle Deep Discoverer was hunting for geologic samples on Feb. 27 when it spotted the octopus on a rock more than two-and-a-half miles below the surface. A NOAA zoologist tells National Geographic the octopus doesn't look like "anything that’s been documented in the scientific literature." It has a number of unusual traits, including a lack of muscle tone and color-changing pigments. It also has only one series of suckers instead of the typical two. "This animal is now confusing several of our shore-based scientists, who have never seen anything like this," a scientist can be overheard saying on the video of the octopus. NOAA believes the octopus is "almost certainly" a new species and possibly even a new genus. According to Forbes, the detailed video should help scientists name and classify it soon. Until then, we'll stick with the unofficial name given to it by the Internet: Casper. ********** 10+ YEARS of 'PHANTOMS & MONSTERS' & the FREE EMAIL NEWSLETTER

Strange Incidents Involving 'Green Lights'
Dan in Coon Rapids, Minnesota called in to tell of a strange anomaly that he and his family observed near their cabin in Wisconsin:
“We've had this land up in Wisconsin. A prairie farm just east of Turtle Lake. I've had it for going on like 11 years now. Since I was a little kid, probably 11, every year there's always been these really strange green lights in the sky to the south of the cabin. At first it was just me and my uncle that saw them. No one believed us. So then, every year, they are always there. They're always there. They are distinctive. I mean they are fluorescent green lights in the sky. So the one year, I finally got my grandpa to come out there and saw it and he was like, 'Holy crap!' A couple months go by and my grandparents go down to Florida every year. Just the winters... to hide out from the winters. And my grandma actually sent me a newspaper article from the Prairie Sun Times that was all about these lights in the sky and they had no explanation what they were and then actually, I think was two years ago, they just disappeared. I never seen them again. Never had an explanation. One year, I know this is gonna sound crazy but, one year, we had one of those million watt candle lights and my dad was messing around with me, trying to scare me. Like I said, I was just a little kid and he starts flashing it in the sky and they actually stopped. They were kind of just hovering back and forth, almost vibrating. They just stopped and started moving towards the cabin. I freaked out and ran inside so I couldn't tell you what happened next after that. It was just really weird. We never saw them again. I just never had an explanation and I just thought it was really weird that no one believed us and then all of a sudden my grandma clipped out a piece of an article in a newspaper and it was about it and it was specifically from the Prairie Sun Times and it was just a really weird story.”
Source: Darkness Radio – February 22, 2016 Transcribed by Jamie Brian I received the following correspondence in May 2014: Dear Mr. Strickler - 3 years ago, my uncle (my father's brother) passed away. He lived in Lansing, Michigan at the time. I was born and lived in Lansing until I moved to West Lafayette, Indiana for college. After I graduated, I moved to Arizona (where I currently reside). A few weeks after my uncle passed away, I received a package from the executor of my uncle's estate. The contents included several personal items that had belonged to my father and a large envelope with several photographs from the 1960's. Most of the photos were of my father & uncle at various hunting camps. The envelope also contained a letter written by my uncle for me. There was no date, but I could tell he had written it. Here is the exact content in the letter:
Please forgive me for not telling you this in person. I never knew how to explain what happened. In 1966, not long after you were born, your dad, a guide and I were in North Bay, Ontario moose hunting. We had been out in the forest for almost 6 hours and were making our way back to the cabin. It was dusk and it started to become dark quickly. As we got nearer to the cabin, we could hear strange whirling sounds coming from the direction we were heading. I was now dark, and we could see a bright green light was shining above the cabin. We stopped walking and watched the light as it slowing circled about 50 ft. above the cabin. The light was oblong in shape. I could not judge the size since there was an aura around it. The swirling sound continued also. The next thing we remember was waking up in our cabin bunks the next morning. All of us had sharp pain around our ears and eyes. We couldn't explain what had happened to us. We packed our gear and headed for home as soon as we could. By the time we reached Lansing, your Dad was terribly ill. Your Mom rushed him to the hospital that same night. The doctor said he had the flu, but I knew better. I didn't suffer any effects. The guide was OK also. Your Dad was in the hospital for four days and started to feel better, but he was really never the same. I believe the incident at the cabin affected him. He would say that he continually had sharp stabbing pains all over his body. It became so bad that he could not work. Well, you know the rest of the story. I felt that you deserved an explanation of what happened. I don't know if you should tell your Mom. That's your decision.
For as long as could remember, my father was in and out of treatment. When I received the letter, my mother had already passed away. I don't know if she ever knew what happened to my father. My mother was the sole bread-winner for our family. We did receive some money from the state for my father's disability, but I know it wasn't much. Those payments stopped soon after my father took his own life in 1975. I wish I knew more about what happened that evening at the cabin. Daily 2 Cents: Hillary Clinton Will Declassify UFOs -- Cloning 'Siberian Cave Lions' -- 'Exploding Teeth'
Hillary Clinton Will Declassify UFOs John Podesta, campaign manager for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and a longtime advocate for government disclosure of UFO files, said Clinton is ready to look into the issue. "I've talked to Hillary about that," Podesta told KLAS-TV Politics NOW co-host Steve Sebelius during a campaign stop in Las Vegas. "There are still classified files that could be declassified." He continued: "I think I've convinced her that we need an effort to kind of go look at that and declassify as much as we can, so that people have their legitimate questions answered. More attention and more discussion about unexplained aerial phenomena can happen without people -- who are in public life, who are serious about this -- being ridiculed." Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, made headlines in January when she told the Conway Daily Sun newspaper in New Hampshire that she would "get to the bottom of" the mystery behind unexplained aerial objects. UFOs have been hovering around Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, for decades. At a 2005 speech in Hong Kong, Bill Clinton told about his efforts to look into the phenomenon: "I did attempt to find out if there were any secret government documents that reveal things, and if there were, they were concealed from me, too. I wouldn't be the first president that underlings have lied to or that career bureaucrats have waited out. But there may be some career person sitting around somewhere hiding these dark secrets, even from elected presidents. But, if so, they successfully eluded me, and I'm almost embarrassed to tell you I did try to find out." Podesta, who was Bill Clinton's White House chief of staff, for years has called on the U.S. government to declassify UFO files. In a 2002 speech at the National Press Club in Washington, he said, "I think it's time to open the books on questions that have remained in the dark on the question of government investigations of UFOs. "It's time to find out what the truth really is that's out there," Podesta said. "We ought to do it because it's right. We ought to do it because the American people, quite frankly, can handle the truth. And we ought to do it because it's the law." After spending a year as President Barack Obama's senior adviser, Podesta tweeted on Feb. 13, 2015, that his biggest regret was "not securing the disclosure of the UFO files." Podesta told KLAS he's been criticized for his position on UFO disclosure. "I come in for my fair share of people raising questions about whether I'm off my rocker, but I've been a longtime advocate of declassification of records," he said. "People really want to know what the government knows." - John Podesta: I've Convinced Hillary Clinton To Declassify UFO Files ********* Cloning 'Siberian Cave Lions' Two infant prehistoric big cats - dating from Pleistocene times - were found in a 'sensational' discovery last year, as disclosed by The Siberian Times. The cubs were dug from their icy grave 'complete with all their body parts: fur, ears, soft tissue and even whiskers', said Dr Albert Protopopov, head of the mammoth fauna studies department of the Yakutian Academy of Sciences. Now cloning expert Hwang Woo-suk, a South Korean scientist who is already pioneering research work to bring the extinct woolly mammoth back to life, is in Yakutsk to obtain samples of one of the cave lion cubs. Dr Protopopov said: 'Together with the Mammoth Museum, we took samples for cell research.' The museum's experts will study these for the presence of living cells suitable for cloning. Hwang came to Yakutsk - capital of the Sakha Republic - specifically for this purpose. But there was dispute between the Siberian and Korean scientists over the size of the sample. The Korean professor wanted a large section, such as part of the skull or a leg but this was opposed by the local experts who are anyway withholding one of the cubs from any research - the better preserved of the pair, called Uyan - confident that more advanced techniques in future years will ensure more is gleaned from it than if research is done now. Read more w/ picures at South Koreans kick off efforts to clone extinct Siberian cave lions ********** 'Exploding Teeth' Back in the 19th Century a Pennsylvania dentist wrote about a bizarre and nightmarish dental phenomenon. The first reported case of this anomalous condition was in 1817 when a clergyman from Springfield reported experiencing excrutiating pain in one of his teeth that nobody was able to explain. "During his agonies he ran about here and there, in the vain endeavor to obtain some respite; at one time boring his head on the ground like an enraged animal," wrote Dentist WH Atkinson. Most intriguing of all however was what eventually relieved the poor Reverend of his discomfort. "At 9:00 the next morning, as he was walking the floor in wild delirium, all at once a sharp crack, like a pistol shot, bursting his tooth to fragments, gave him instant relief," Atkinson wrote. Another similar case of 'exploding teeth' occurred 13 years later when a woman who lived nearby also experienced extreme toothache which disappeared after a sudden 'bursting' of the tooth. The phenomenon was also reported in 1871 by dentist J Phelps Hibler who treated a young woman whose excruciating toothache suddenly concluded when her tooth 'exploded' with such force and at such high volume that it knocked her over and caused her to go deaf for several days afterwards. One possible explanation for this bizarre condition revolves around the idea that decay within a tooth can cause a build-up of gas that eventually explodes, however Hugh Devlin, Professor in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Manchester’s School of Dentistry, has his doubts. "It is highly unlikely that gas could build up in a tooth sufficient to cause it to explode – teeth are extremely strong," he said. Another theory is that a combination of two different metals within a patient's filling can potentially produce a spontaneous electrolysis effect and a build-up of hydrogen within the tooth, however there is nothing to indicate that any of the patients actually had any fillings. 'Hungry Ghost' Hunt
Have you ever heard of a hungry ghost? Sounds like something from the movie 'Ghostbusters.' Nonetheless, the following account was published in the Chicago Tribune on February 16, 1922:
Although four neighbors, armed with shotguns, maintain nightly vigil at the home of Mrs. Catherine Milakowich, 318 South avenue, Waukegan, a hungry ghost, who has domiciled himself there, continues to be heard but not seen. Except on Mondays. He has Mondays off. They've heard him at all hours of the night. And occasionally he has made his presence felt in other ways. For example, Michael Dezoma, a cigar manufacturer, tells how: "Last Friday morning at 3 o'clock there was a funny noise at the door. The room was in darkness. I was striking a match to light a cigar. The door flew open, the match was blown out, and a hand grabbed me by the neck, choked me, and then hit me on the nose. I called to Jack Schlosser, the teamster, but the hand disappeared before we turned on the lights. I'm a brave man, but it made me nervous." The ghost has taking ways. He took two sacks of flour and fifty pounds of sugar. The other night Mrs. Milakowich heard him in the cellar. He was making a noise like target practice. When the vigilante squad arrived there the remnant of the winter's supply of coal was tossed all about the place. And Daniel, her eldest boy, dreamed the ghost walked into his bedroom one night and said: "Hello, kid." Daniel awoke the next morning to find his bed had been moved from one side of the room to the other. "It all got my goat so," said Jerry Womka, who used to live above Mrs. Milakowich, "that I moved. We couldn't sleep or anything. The ghost used to carry on at all hours of the night." The shotgun squad now maintaining vigil comprises Antonio Carrison, Waukegan cobbler; James Shanes, George Mastron, and Sam Surlas. They do not, they aver, believe in spooks. Still, they never separate during the wee sma'. First information of the ghost was made public when Mrs. Milakowich appealed for protection to Father Joseph Lauerman, pastor of St. Joseph's church, of which she is a member. "He'll eat me out of house and home," said Mrs. Milakowich, who is a widow. "I don't know who he is, but he can't be my husband's ghost. My husband never had an appetite like that."

Is Coin Proof of Early UFO Sightings? Decoration on the French artifact, carved between 1680 and 1856, shows a strange circular craft like object floating in the sky An ancient coin minted hundreds of years ago proves aliens made multiple visits to Earth, a UFO hunter claims. Decoration on this French artifact, carved between 1680 and 1856, shows a strange, circular, craft-like object floating in the sky. The coin is not actually currency but a jeton - used for counting or playing games. And alien enthusiast Scott C Waring says the mysterious object on it is proof of regular extra terrestrial trips to our planet. On his website he wrote: "I've been looking for one of these off and on for a few weeks. "It looks really amazing and is absolute proof that in the 1600s the French witnessed enough UFO sightings to decide to put some of what they saw on coins." He added: "It is about the size of a US quarter-dollar and similar to thousands of other jetons with different religious and educational designs that were produced and used in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. "It appears to commemorate a UFO sighting of a wheel like object." ********** Woman Dies After Swallowing Live Fish A woman was found dead in her home after choking on a fish she had accidentally swallowed whole while preparing dinner on Wednesday evening in a village in Preah Vihear province, according to police. Kulen district deputy police chief Yeang Samphuon said that Lim Narom, 46, died soon after swallowing the fish. “Less than 20 minutes after swallowing the fish, she started coughing up blood and died,” he said, adding that her family could not rush her to the hospital because it was too far from their home. The officer explained that Ms. Narom was scaling a batch of fish her husband had caught earlier in the day. It is common practice to kill a fish by biting its head before scaling it, the officer said. Ms. Narom had killed and scaled one perch before the second slipped into her throat, he added. Chheng Reil, a Kulen Tbong village resident, said that Ms. Narom’s funeral would be held today. Ms. Reil said the deceased had three children and described the family as poor. MH370 Found on Google Earth? A UFO investigator looking for evidence of flying saucers inadvertently stumbled across the suspected aircraft in an eight-month-old Google satellite image. If Scott C Waring is correct, the plane had travelled to the Cape of Good Hope, off Cape Town, South Africa. His claim today coincides with the discovery of debris on the east coast of Africa in an area between Mozambique and Madagascar. The wrecked parts are being sent to Australia for tests to see if they came from MH370. Mr Waring, who is editor of UFO Sightings Daily, posted details of his discovery online. Amazon 'Monkey Man?' The poor-quality recording is said to have been filmed in Brazil, according to YouTube channel OvnisUfos HD which posted it online. There are are least six youths, three taking part in a front crawl sprint, one filming, and two watching for the winner. But when the trio finish their race, the camera man suddenly becomes concerned at something behind one of the adjudicators on one of the banks of the stream. Shouting panickedly, it appears he is trying to get the boy's attention to something peeping out of the trees behind. Due to the grainy recording, it is difficult to make out what is there, but it appears to be a face peeping out. The lone boy on the bank takes a few tentative steps to investigate, but soon after, whatever it is leaps out from its hiding place. The video has been entitled "Bigfoot caught on tape by Indian boys. What is it? Bigfoot sightings, skin walker, or alien?" A skin walker is a mythological human-like being that can transform into any animal, so we can probably rule that one out. At which point there are cries of terror and the camera goes classic Blair Witch Project-style, with it trained on the floor as the gang quickly make off. There is no detail about when the footage is shot, or exactly where, though it was posted in 2014. There is no evidence from the footage to support why it would be an alien. Some viewers have pointed out the being does not look large enough to qualify as a jungle version of the Yeti or Big Foot, said to grow up to 2.5metres in height. But aside from large Big Foot-like creatures allegedly being sighted in rainforest regions in the past, there is also the legend of 4-feet tall Monkey Man which has attacked and scratched people. Other viewers pointed out it could just be a large known primate that jumped out, or even a hoax pulled off by one of their friends creeping up and leaping out. - Various sources ********** TODAY'S TOP LINKS Wolf Woman and Tiger Girl The Weirdest Cryptids That Turned Out To Be Real Haunted Bible For Sale and another Haunted Bible 2 Podesta and the President Continue to Talk About UFOs Gruesome & Mysterious Case of Exploding Teeth Fire, 7" Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB - Includes Special Offers, Black Nokia Lumia 640 (AT&T Go Phone) No Annual Contract Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM) GoPro HERO4 Silver

Werewolf in the Neighborhood
An anonymous woman called in late to the Midnight in The Desert with Art Bell show to tell of a weird encounter she had 25 years earlier. Crypto researcher Linda Godfrey was the guest:
“I been wanting to tell you guys (Linda Godfrey and Art Bell) this story that happened about 25 years ago with my children. My children would cross the road to go up to this guy's driveway and play all the time. Well, one evening they went running in the house. They said 'mom we heard a werewolf.' I thought, well, now, they heard this weird dog, you know. I went back outside and I could hear it too and it wasn't like a regular dog, it was very very odd. Well, I didn't know what to think about it and I was a typical housewife, cooking and taking care of stuff and so I went back in the house and it was just when the sun was going down when this happened and I lived in a kind of in the woods area. But this guy, like I said, had a big long concrete driveway that my kids would play on. Well, that evening and, I want you to know, God will strike me dead, it is the truth – we had a big picture window in the house and that guy was a doctor that lived up on this hill and he would come home late in the night. Well, I heard a strange sound and I went to that picture window and I looked out in my yard. I could see the car-lights and him coming up the road and right there – I always thought it was a joke, werewolves were a joke – and I saw this thing that had a huge back and when it turned its head around. It had a snout at least a foot and a half long on it. It's body was huge. I never... I never seen anything like that. Then you mentioned about UFOs (Linda Godfrey earlier talked about a werewolf encounter involving a UFO). There was some weird lights that we seen just prior to me seeing this. It scared me so bad that I ran in the backroom and locked the door. (Art asked to describe the sound) Well, sort of like a weird dog screaming, you know, sort of like that, I'm not really sure exactly how to describe it. (Linda asked how the doctor was involved) It was just outside when he came in – he came home late in the evening because he was like an emergency room doctor and he worked late and I had been staying up a little bit later. I guess this was close to midnight. maybe around that time and I never expected anything. I just thought here he comes but just the way the car drove in the way the lights came into my yard I did not see any hands or arms but I did see, it moved its body and it had huge shoulders. I never seen anything like that in my life. It had to be at least 6 foot tall maybe, but its back was so large when it turned its head. Now I want you to know, I thought all that stuff was a joke and I never believed in anything like werewolves because I grew up – I’m an older lady and I watched all those horror films years ago. I thought all that stuff was a joke but when I saw that - that freaked me so much.”

Upright Canine Sightings: Otter Lake, PA / Niagara Region, Ontario
The following transcript comes from the Midnight in the Desert radio show...on a night when crypto researcher & author Linda Godfrey was the guest. Washington in Georgia called in to tell of a strange sighting he and two of his friends (brothers) had:
“I saw a creature while I was camping in Pennsylvania. I don't know if you are familiar with that area at all. I was with a couple of friends of mine and they saw it as well. It had yellow eyes and almost like a human face with very long, very big, almost kind of wrinkly ears. It had hair or fur on that as well and on the face like all the way on its face and very large hands and very skinny arms. It had, I noticed, its legs it had like the knees bent backwards, like hyper-extending, you know, in a way. The most disturbing thing about it and I didn't hear you (Linda Godfrey) comment and it still haunts me to this day when I think about it is its head movement. It kind of moved its head almost like pigeon. Very kind of darty, very quick head movements and when I saw this, it was maybe about two feet away from me. I don't think it knew I was there because I was sleeping in a Volkswagen van and it was in a campground called Otter Lake in Pennsylvania and there was a couple of hunters that were up fairly late by the fire and it seemed to be very engaged in what they were doing and it was paying a lot of attention to them, peering its head around at the campers very suddenly. At first I thought it was another camper and my eyes adjusted and I saw what it was and I was absolutely terrified and for the rest of the night me and my buddies just cowered in the van and we even called the state police and they acted like they didn't know where we were and they thought we were drunk. They kind of laughed and said we have no idea where that is. We wouldn't know how to get to you. They suggested we stay in the car and that was basically it. Not very helpful. Another thing, I don't know if it was related but I heard a really weird call, almost like a two-toned – almost like a scream, and another call all within one.”

NOTE: Otter Lake is located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania (Monroe County). The area is heavily populated with wildlife and thick cover and approximately 12 miles from the Delaware River / New Jersey border. I received the following email from Judy Brown from Ontario Dogman and Other Creatures on Facebook after I posted the recent bi-pedal sighting in southern Ontario:
Hi Lon...it's Judy Brown from 'Ontario Dogman' on Facebook. I am not sure if the following info will help you in your investigation of the dogman sightings or not. My sighting was in the latter part of the 1960's and it occurred in what was then a small village called Cooks Mills, Ontario. This is near the border between Welland and Niagara Falls, Ontario and is close to the 3 sightings that you have gotten lately. Butch is right when he commented that dogmen are not afraid and will stand their ground because the dogman in my encounter stood in the road and stared us down for about 30 seconds before running off. I think it had been eating roadkill when we drove up to it. My late husband also had an encounter with a dogman probably sometime in the eighties...he was driving home from work on night shift about 4 or 5 am when one ran across the QEW ahead of him. He was heading from Oakville to Welland and this happened just after the Queen Elizabeth and 403 split before he went over the Burlington Skyway. It ran from right to left across the highway so it would have been heading towards Lake Ontario. He said that after crossing the road, it jumped a chain link fence and disappeared into the tree line. This makes 5 sightings between Lakes Erie and Ontario. I can also attest to the fact that there have been UFO sightings over Lake Erie on the Canadian side. These sightings were in an area called Lowbanks which is between Port Colborne and Port Dover...close to the Wainfleet area. I don't know if this helps, but I thought you might like to have this information. Take care. Judy

Daily 2 Cents: Vera Farmiga's Paranormal Experiences Since 'The Conjuring' -- Crashed Plane Disappears -- 8000-Year-Old Handprints Not Human
Vera Farmiga's Paranormal Experiences Since 'The Conjuring' From the fire on the set of The Exorcism to all of the strange happenings surrounding those involved with the production of Poltergeist there is a long and strange history between horror movies and real life freaky occurrences. It turns out that The Conjuring franchise can now be added to this legacy, because lead actress Vera Farmiga has actually experienced two unexplainable incidents since starting work on the series. Last fall, I had the pleasure of being a part of a small group of film journalists invited to visit the set of director James Wan’s The Conjuring 2, and it was while interviewing Vera Farmiga about her part in the upcoming sequel that she divulged details about two horror film-esque events that she has experienced since becoming part of the growing franchise. One occurred during pre-production on The Conjuring, and one happened right at the end of filming… but they’re connected incidents as both happen to involve a series of three scratch marks. 8000-Year-Old Handprints Not Human Anthropologists probing the discovery of tiny 8000-year-old hand prints in an Egyptian cave say they were not made by human hands. Explorers stumbled across the tiny hand imprints in a Saharan cave after unearthing more than 5000 images carved into the stone in Egypt's southwest border with Libya 14 years ago. But a study of the 13 tiny hand prints show that not only are they not human - but that they are believed to belong to tiny lizards. The cave, which is also known as Wadi Sura II, has been the focus of study for Emmanuelle Honoré of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research for years. The Halifax Regional Fire department says they received the 911 call at 6:09 p.m. on Tuesday. The call prompted the start of a joint search by the fire department, Halifax RCMP, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, and the Coast Guard. “Five different fire stations ranging from Sambro to stations in Seabright responded with nine trucks,” said Mike Blackford, Division Commander 2 for Halifax Fire. “They checked every vantage point on different locations on land.” Tim Slaunwhite contacted police after claiming to see a plane crash in Terence Bay, N.S. Tim Slaunwhite made the call to police. He describes what he saw in the sky as “jaw-dropping.” "As I looked up I seen an explosion - watched it to my amazement,” said Slaunwhite. Slaunwhite says he didn’t think twice when he called 911. “You could see the plane basically lowering itself, going down and down and down, and then all of a sudden it broke in two - it just broke in two,” said Slaunwhite. “Then all of a sudden within 10 seconds the front end caught on fire." The fire department searched for an hour before calling off their search. “They felt like they did everything they could,” said Blackford. While fire crews searched on land, JRCC and the Coast Guard searched the waters just off the shores of Peggys Cove. “We are looking for debris and to confirm the report,” said Captain Cameron Hillier, Joint Task Force Atlantic Public Affairs. “We will perform an exhaustive search and if nothing is found, we will call it off.” JRCC's search was called off around 9:30 p.m. Cpt. Hillier says earlier in the evening, Air Traffic Control advised them that all aircrafts were accounted for and they didn’t receive any emergency locator transmitters. “ELT are pieces of equipment that goes off when an aircraft is in distress,” adds Cpt. Hillier. “Despite no ELT trigger, HMCS Halifax, a Cormorant helicopter and Coast Guard ship Sambro are searching the area.” Halifax RCMP also tells CTV News no planes are overdue or missing. But Slaunwhite is convinced of what he saw. “To me it had to be a passenger plane,” said Slaunwhite. "From smoke trail to fire to descending to the water, you just, thoughts go through your mind - you know, nothing good." - Emergency crews find no evidence after report of plane crash near Peggys Cove ********** In Uganda, Election Season Means Spike in Witch Doctor Child Sacrifice The number of incidents of child sacrifice — in which witch doctors abduct children to use their body parts in potions or rituals – in Uganda increased significantly in 2015 as the nation braced for election season, thanks to desperate political candidates seeking any possible advantage at the polls. In Uganda and other parts of Africa, members of the political class with access to the financial resources necessary to pay a witch doctor have long turned to supernatural tactics in the hopes of attracting voters. “Child sacrifice cases are common during election time, as some people believe blood sacrifices will bring wealth and power,” Shelin Kasozi tells Kenya’s The Star. Kasozi works with Kyampisi Childcare Ministries (KCM), a group that specializes in helping children who have survived attempted sacrifices. The report says 13 cases of human sacrifice were reported in 2015, the same number as the year before. Two fewer children and two more adults were confirmed to be the victims of human sacrifice in 2015. Six of the cases of children in question were found to be directly related to Uganda’s elections. The charity notes that these are only confirmed cases, however, and that many cases of missing children have yet to be resolved and could turn out to be cases of ritualistic sacrifice. Ugandan law enforcement can confirm a body has been the victim of a sacrifice due to the wounds found on it. Many bodies are found missing organs like hearts or livers. Some are cut into pieces, decapitated, or castrated. Bizarre UFO Encounter - Garden Grove, CA
The following UFO encounter report was posted on the MUFON CMS:
Garden Grove, CA - 3/3/1991: I was walking to go buy a slice of pizza, I was six years old. I came up to two people - the owner of the shop and a neighbor in the apartment complex. I told them what are you looking at. Then they looked at me, their eyes white like they where popping out. They didn't say anything, just looked at me like I interrupted something. They turned their heads back the the UFO, then it caught my attention. I looked at it - my mind is blown away! I was speechless & in shock. I didn't know what I was looking at it. It was so bright, like a disk shape. I thought I saw windows and someone looking at us. I was drawn to look at it, like it was calling me - attracted to me. I turned back to run. I couldn't. I remember telling myself - run! Go tell your mom, and I thought I'll never make it. They'll never believe me, so I stayed. I was stuck. We looked at it for about 20 min. I felt like I went inside it time. I felt like it stopped for us. We didn't say a word. I was only six. The lady was in her late 20's and man was in his 40's. Then suddenly it slowly hovers away. We saw it cross Katella Ave. into another neighborhood. As soon as it wasn't visible, we all walked away and as soon as I turned the corner my mind went blank. I don't remember how I got home. I do remember I told my family. I started having nightmares, I was running down a hallway then I come to a sliding door it opens & I run in - then I'm floating across the room. The room was all white. I couldn't see if there were edges in the room. It felt bright. I floated to a blue barrel of some sort. I hid behind it & crouched in a fetal position. I was scared. Then this thing. I can't really gives detail. I thought he had long rubber gloves and a big face, like maybe it was wearing a mask. It grabs me. Then I wake up screaming. I would have this nightmare every night after that event. We finally moved and I stopped having the dreams. I have a scar on the left side of my head. It looks like a stamp print. I would pick at it & my mom took me to doctors. They said they didn't know what it was. They gave me a cream. I still have it. I know I was a kid saying these things, but it felt so real. I never knew if the other witnesses remember anything. Since that day I knew anything is possible. I knew everything I ever thought about the future was real and I was mad that they left me here. I had anger - like why? I want more knowledge. I been seeking information since then. Some times I think I'm crazy and I only tell this story to people who bring up thing's like that. I want this story to be heard so someone can help me remember. I appreciate who ever reads this and take it for what it is. - MUFON CMS
