My Glassdoor review which is pending: Benefits sucked! I had some valid concerns about cultural awareness that were not taken seriously. The other team member tended to speak over me while I was talking to clients (which was problematic considering the population we worked with) and gave unwarranted advice. NO help from overworked manager. The team tries to build rapport by misinforming potential clients. There was really only two ways to get housing from this team 1. SRO 2. 1 year waiting list. Beyond that nothing but telling clients housing is something they can help with. The logistics of the team was scattered. This was a brand new department but manager also ran a whole different program. Followup to concerns and questions was awkward as the manager would be triggered by questions because they were over stressed. then when I left of course I get treated like poo. no exit plans. NOTHING. the program manager never explained how he would like my exit, I was basically left on my own the last few weeks. and I gave them three weeks to help the team however. The team member and manager want to say that they don’t want people to get use to my face. but only after I inquire why I m not being allowed to do my job . (Valid but again no communication about this and i’m left in the dark for days about this ‘concern’ and the way this is communicated is problematic because this is my community more than theirs. This was never just a 9-5 to me , I have lived in South Minneapolis a majority of my life, I shared a tribe with some of our clients they are going to see my face regardless if I am at this organization because I will still be involved in my community and I was before this job even existed. Neither of them have the smallest understanding of historical trauma, urban Native populations, nothing). The manager previously led the city’s most well known street outreach team but none of that knowledge was passed down because the organization had this man overworked. Bother this man and it was a figure it out on your own type of deal. I was given the black sheep treatment so I made to sure to meet with all my 'official’ clients one last time and booked it out of there the Friday before my suppose to be last day
