Tyler kept himself quiet as she spoke, she had a point in some ways. There was a lure to the unknown, more opportunities to write something sinfully good given there was nothing to constrict yourself with.
That wasn’t what he was teaching.
"I’m sure I would," The sound was perhaps a little exasperated, Phoebe wasn’t a difficult student per say, but she did tend to march to the beat of her own drum.
"But I assigned what I did for a reason, dig deep, be honest. You might find out things about yourself and your roots that you never even noticed until now."
"Alright, I'll dig deep. Since you're so certain." Phoebe breathed out, not quite a sigh, a considering sound. "But unless my parents are hiding some crazy ancestor who led an underground crime ring or was secretly the princess of Bolivia, I don't think you're gonna be that interested."
She settled down in the seat before his desk without waiting for an invitation, carefully crossing her legs and relaxing as though it were her own living room. "Professor, you should know, I'm always honest. If you ask." Phoebe smirked, just a touch at the corner of her lips. "So what about you? Does this assignment come from any family inspiration of your own?"
