“I’m counting on that.” He nudged into Lloyd playfully. He still had the gift in mind. He was impatient, but how could he not be? “Shirtless dancing, or are we going to wear less clothes now? Like that time we had that dance party in our underwear.” He was referring to the night he’d been drunk and showed at Lloyd’s place in that duct tape underwear. Although, that night was still a little hazy, so he might remember it wrong. “Don’t worry, I got you, babe.” He opened the door once the they were at his place and took Lloyd upstairs. 

Lloyd giggled. “Let’s have a dance party in our underwear.” He smiled as he remembered the night isaac was druck too. Even though they didn’t dance then, he recalled they were going to. He was glad he decided to wear his nice underwear for this. Then again, with the gift he was going to give Isaac he had no other choice. “Thanks.” He smiled and followed up to the other’s apartment. “I made a playlist just for tonight.” He grinned running to plug in his device to the speakers.

“How do you..” Jay cut himself off as he thought about the boy putting himself in that situation and laughed instead. The boy was very cute and painfully sweet and Jay just wanted to eat him up. “Oh yeah? Lots of shopping for date underwear but never getting to use ‘em. Their loss. And, uh, thank you.. it always was a life goal to be cute.” Jay licked his lips, trying to hide his grin once more when the boy continued to talk. “A hot.. two-headed hockey play.. alright. I like it,” he grinned. “I’m impressed you’re already thinking about Halloween.. I’m always so late when it comes to costumes. Do you have any ideas for me? Since you’re clearly a lot better at choosing than I am.” 

Lloyd had a habit of winding up in these situations. He didn’t think much of them at the time, until he thought back to it. He could laugh about it, though. “So, is your friend Jake -that wants to take me out with a ball and on a date- the type of guy that would like getting flowers, or does he prefer it being more casual and cool?” He asked, curiously and he chuckled. “But I bet it didn’t take a long time to accomplish that goal. Since you were probably a cute baby.” Lloyd mentioned with a smile. “Yeah, I need another head, so I gotta work on that. I love halloween, though. It’s my favorite holy day.” He looked at the other for a moment. “Yes! You should be a slutty snapchat filter. The glowing golden one with the stars on your head. OR you can be a vampire that came from a very conservative religious human family, but you’ve just been turned into a vampire. And you have all this freedom now but you don’t really know how the world works, so you’re trying to figure that out, while having a blood-only diet, and being super sexy, and not going out in the day. Also, just a warning, if you go with the vampire idea, both my faces will probably want to make out with you.”

“That works, too.” Isaac responded, smiling. He was sure they had done something similar before, where it was just the two of them together dancing. “You’re gonna make me wait longer?” He made a face, jokingly. He was really eager about Lloyd’s gift, but he could wait. Isaac watched as Lloyd spoke to the driver. “Yeah, I thought that was the plan.”

"Awesome. It’s gonna be the best birthday after-party for two to ever happen on a Thursday.” He giggled, maybe he wasn’t sober yet but he was getting there. “Only because it’s not ready yet, but that’s okay because we’re gonna dance some more.” Lloyd insisted with a happy smile. It didn’t take too long for them to get home. Soon they were out of the car and going upstairs. “Okay, good. I need to borrow something to wear, by the way.”

Aidan chuckled at the male’s words. It was nice to see a lighter exchange for once, rather than something that would ruin someone’s day. “Would you rather be hit with cold ice, or have scalding hot coffee thrown or dropped on you?” he asked. “–Either way, both experiences are nasty but i’d pick cold and sticky over hot any day.” he added. When he asked whether that was what happened at him, Aidan shook his head. “Not at work, but on my way to work. I remember one morning I was also in a rush, like today and the man in front of me was texting while walking up to the counter, but we bumped into each other and he managed to knock my own drink all over me, because that’s how hard we clashed.” he shook his head. “I can honestly say it was the worst five minutes of hot coffee all over me, fortunately it was over a shirt so not direct skin-to skin contact, but it was the worst.” he added

Aidan raised a brow at the next question, more so in thought. “We do hang out, but it’s been a while since i’ve last seen a co-worker outside of my work space.” he added. Aidan enjoyed the younger male’s enthusiasm and he had to admit, this would be great if he did agree to it. “Your Saturday’s aren’t as busy? That’s surprising, the weekend is usually always busy for everyone.” he added. “–But don’t worry, i’ve got the answer keys, and they’re multiple choice questions. I grade anything that has to do with long answers or essays.” he assured. “Can I get your number, or would you rather just show up here on Wednesday?” 

Lloyd thought for a moment. “I think I’d prefer the cold. Especially in this weather. Coffee hot is too hot and that would hurt. I have a high tolerance for pain but I still don’t think it would be enjoyable.” He also considered the opposite. “If I was sticky it would only suck if I had just started working and had the entire work day of being sticky ahead of me.” He shuddered at the thought. “You rather drink cherry flavored coffee or a meted snow cone?” He asked the other, starting a game. He listened to Aidan talk about his experience. “That sucks. Did you have to go home and change? Did you meet a cute barista that offered to buy you one from the store down the street? What happened?” He asked very curious.

“Oh. Why is that?” He asked curiously. “Yeah, most Saturday. Sometimes I will hang out with my cousin and go dancing, but I like doing that on Thursdays now because there’s a lot of people on Saturday and also my cousin is dating someone I think so they will sometimes not spend Saturdays at home.” He explained. “Are you Saturdays busy?” He inquired with a smile. “Oh, that sounds easy. I’d love to help.” He took out his phone to let hand it over to Aidan. “Here. You can call your phone that way you have mine in your call list and you can save it later.” He told. “But I’ll be here Wednesday!” Just then the new drinks came out.

Jay laughed, taking a moment of silence to seriously consider what the other was talking about. He was right and Jay had definitely taken the care and time to pick out the right underwear in the past, he just hadn’t ever given it a name. “I mean.. actually I think you’re right. So, uh, I’ll give you that,” he said, smiling warmly at the other. “Thirty percent is a very specific number,” Jay noted with a laugh. “I mean.. I think you’re pretty cute right now.. but if you’re going for hot then.. sure? I say go with your gut.”

“Yeah! Except it’s a bad luck to go shopping for date underwear with your actual date. I did that once and then the guy never called me back so the date never happened.” He reminisced for a moment. “Maybe I’m the bad luck because that happens a lot to me with dates.” He scratched his head in thought before chuckling to himself and shrugging. “That’s true. It’s science. Thanks, you’re pretty and cute, as well. Okay, it’s decided. I’m going to be a hot redhead. Just in time for Halloween. I was thinking of going as a hot two headed hockey player. Now I can do that but with red hair.” He clapped his hands together. “Do you know what you’re going as?”

“Nice to see you again, Lloyd. I think last time I might have said French Silk was my favorite, but I think for the summertime, key lime is king,” Matt mused with a smile. He raised his brows when Lloyd gave him an insight into his personal life, then nodded. “It’s tricky when it comes down to preferences. There’s only so much you can do before you start to want what your body wants. It’s good to have intimate friends, though, right?” he said. He didn’t mean friends with benefits exactly, but it could go either way, honestly. “I’ve been better, but I’ve also been worse. So I guess I’m alright. Not playing hockey anymore. But I am coaching for the team, so I’m still out there on the rink,” he nodded. “Still a single pringle, but I think I might be sort of seeing somebody. Kind of.”

"Ooh. I love key lime pie. I haven’t had it in a long time. What’s king during the fall? It’s coming soon... I think. I haven’t checked when it starts but my fall semester is starting in a couple weeks so I know the season is too.” He explained his logic. “Yeah... I mean, i’m not that much of a sexual person but I know what you mean.” He responded. “Do you think we should’ve tried to work it out? I saw a tweet that said ‘two bottoms and no top, that is no fun at any party’. Is it the same for two tops?” He asked curiously. “Yeah, I think my most intimate friend is Isaac. We used to date but we broke up because of reasons. We’re just friends now that make out and talk about what makes us sad.” Lloyd seemed to overshare with Matt, probably because Lloyd also considered him an intimate friend in that sense. “Are you happy?” He asked with a soft smile. “Wow, so that means I have to find a new favorite hockey player.” He chuckled. “‘Kind of seeing someone’, like you guys have talked about your feelings and slept over at each other’s places?” You could see an excitement building in his eyes. Lloyd always became excited about new couples.

“No. How can I accidentally make out with someone?” he asked him “it’s a long story that started with a coffee mug but it’s not a big deal. he just blew it way out of proportion” it was probably because of the summer heat. it made everyone on edge “You read my thoughts. What movie?” 

"I meant, like you made out with them on purpose without knowing that they were your roommate’s significant other. Like that.” He chuckled. “Oh, was it a coffee mug that said ‘have a nice day’ on the side but had a middle finger underneath?” He’d had one of those for a while. It wasn’t his but he thought it was funny. “Something scary. With a lot of creepy stuff and a hot guy that you think dies in the middle but actually makes it to the end.”

They could do that, but Isaac would rather go back to his place. “I thought you wanted to give me my birthday gift.” He pulled the other male’s shirtless frame against his own as the lay against a wall. “I’m excited for it, too.” He had an idea of what it would entail. A few moments later, he saw the car. “Lyft is here. Let’s get in.”

He shook his head. “No, it means I wanna take the dancing to your place.” Lloyd said with a small shrug. “But just you and me.” He added incase that wasn’t clear. An after party for two. “Yeah, I do, but we still have time before your birthday is officially over.” He looked at the time before heading into the car, apologizing to the driver for being shirtless. He explained that it was Isaac’s birthday and that they were going to have an after party. After a moment, he looked back to Isaac. “Can I stay at your place?”

“A guy I went to school with in Seattle.” He answered before listening to the story. “That sounds really cute. I’m all on board.” Micah nodded, picking Taten up. “I’ve been trained in contemporary, tap, hip hop, ballet, and ballroom. Currently, I’ve been on stage in Hamilton.” Thinking for a moment, Micah shrugged. “Honestly, if it’s got a good beat, I can dance to it.”

"Ooh. Okay, does he still live there?” He asked with a smile. “Should the Narwhall be a girl?” It was a question that had just come to mind, so he wanted an opinion. “That’s a lot of dances. I love to dance, but I don’t really know many styles. I was a cheerleader, though. If that counts as one. That’s awesome! I’ve never seen Hamilton, but I’ll try to see it.” He mentioned. “Okay, then you’ll love her music. It’s got an awesome beat you can dance to and make out at the same time.”

“Date.. underwear?” he questioned with a smile, tilting his head. “Do you.. need special underwear for dates? I’ve never heard of that..” The boy made Jay smile. He was sweet, excitable and rambled just a tad more than Jay did, which the brunette found sweet and endearing. “Oh, why thank you. Is your hair colour the natural?” he asked. “Yeah, yeah we are. I’m pretty lucky too.. he’s a sweet guy.” 

"Yes! It’s for dates.” He nodded repeatedly. “Yeah, I saw it in a magazine... or a movie. The kind of underwear you wear is important and could make all the difference.” Although difference in what, Lloyd didn’t know exactly. He just got all these silly ideas from the media he consumes and trusted all of it. “Yeah, but I’ve been thinking of making it red so I can be like 30% hotter. Do you think it’ll work?” He mentioned with a wide smile. “That’s cool! I don’t have any siblings, but I have a cousin that I live with. We’re pretty close.”

Matt could feel somebody looking in his direction, but it wasn’t something new. He tried not to pay too much attention to it, but curiosity got the best of him and he slowed down to look up. The smiling face was familiar and it took him a moment before he recognized who it was. The last time he’d seen Lloyd was probably sometime around fall or winter of the previous year. “Pie boy! You’re gonna have to tell me your name again,” he teased, slowing down the treadmill a little more. “I think my favorite flavor’s changed since we last spoke. You been staying out of trouble?”

Lloyd happily approached the older male. The pie conversation wasn’t what he remembered most about Matthew but upon the other calling him that, the memories of it came back. What he remembered most was the advice Matt had given him the times they had spoken. He looked up to the other because of it. “Hi! It’s Lloyd.” He mentioned happily. “What is your favorite flavor now?” He asked curiously as he stopped a few feet from the machine. “Yes, I met this really nice guy that made me lasagna, but he didn’t think it would work because we’re both tops.” He explained with a small shrug. “How’ve you been?”

Aidan found his words amusing and he couldn’t help but wink at the male, as if that would be their own little secret. As long as his friend wouldn’t be angry, then he wasn’t complaining – or profusely apologizing. As he spoke of his own experience, Aidan could only sympathize. “As long as you haven’t had a snow cone thrown at you for mixing orders, then i’d say you’re pretty lucky. I’ve gotten into arguments that can get pretty handsy all because someone was taking their stressful day out on me.” he added with a light shake of his head.

“Oh, I don’t mean that, I just don’t want you to wait longer than you’re already waiting. Again, I can deal with the paper work, i’d just feel horrible for making you wait extra.” he explained. “I do know a couple of the teachers.” he nodded before letting his hand drop back to his side, “But because we teach different subject areas it wouldn’t be as simple as that.” he added with a light shrug. “–That’s alright though, it’s something I can handle eventually.” As he mentioned being a college student, Aidan raised a brow. “You know how to grade papers?” he asked. “– Because i’d love some help with grading papers. On the bright side, since I don’t have a lot of students in summer school, it won’t be overwhelming, but I do have a lot of tests that have to be turned in by the end of next week.” he explained. “So let me know if you’d be up for a bit of paper work.”

Lloyd chuckled soft at the wink. In the end, his friend probably wouldn’t even ask. The friend was back at his place close by, waiting for Lloyd to come back with the drink. The friend would probably just assume there was a long line, or something of that sort. But it was fun to come up with a good excuse that would’t be put the blame on the other person when it was just an honest mistake. “Omg, no. Not by anyone that was angry at me. That would be so mean. I’d be cold and sticky at the same time... and eventually I was just be hot and sticky. Which is worst.” He shook the thoughts away. “Did that happen at your workplace?” He asked curiously. 

“Okay, but I really didn’t mind.” He let him know with a smile. Aidan was the one in a hurry, so he hoped the older male meant what he said. “Oh, that makes sense. Do you ever hang out with any of them just to hang out?” He was now curious about that. Were teachers all friends with each other? It would make sense, but he didn’t know. “Um, well I’ve never graded papers before, but I don’t think it can be that hard. But oh my gosh, yes. I’d love to help. I’m free on Tuesday and Wednesday. Not Fridays, but most Saturdays.” Lloyd was an easily excitable boy and hearing that someone actually wanted his help made him happy.

Lloyd made out with the other to the music playing. It was different than the times they’d made out before. He was shirtless and buzzed and surrounded by people. It was enjoyable but he preferred it the other way. “I’m feeling good.” He wasn’t completely sober but more than before. “How are you feeling? Are you ready to go?” He asked with a smile.

“Well the night is still young.” He replied with a smile. He thought maybe they could have a after party for two that included more dancing. Lloyd never got tired of dancing. He loved it. Lloyd walked outside. The cold air felt good against his skin. “It’s something I think you will like. I know I’m excited for it, but i don’t wanna give away too much. Let’s wait.”

“Oh. If that’s the case, you can just have mine if it comes out first. I’m Lloyd, by the way.” He smiled. “And honestly, don’t worry.” He repeated. “Where do you work? Is it a business job? Do you have deadlines? Is it going to be busy because it’s the first of August and everything is due?” He was very curious. 

“Perhaps this could be our little secret then. Or maybe we’ll just blame it on another poor passerby, yeah?” it was an attempt at humor, but really Aidan did feel bad for ruining his friend’s order– although it was a simple order. The male seemed much more understanding than he gave him credit for and it made him wonder if it was because he had been in the same situation before. “Is it suffice to say you’ve accidentally grabbed wrong orders?” he asked.

Upon his offer, Aidan shook his head. “Oh no, I couldn’t do that. It’s bad enough I ruined your friend’s order.” the last part he said with a hushed tone. “I don’t mind, i’m honestly just stressing myself out with all this rush.” he reassured. “I’m a teacher – History at that, so you can only imagine how the lesson plans need to be arranged as well as the homework that i’ll have to work around.” he added. “–But I also have the tendency to work on lesson plans for next year, which is something I shouldn’t do. It’s just extra work.” he added “–And it’s nice to meet you, Lloyd. I’m Aidan.” he added before extending his hand for the other.

“Either of those works for me.” He mentioned with a soft giggle. “OR there was some crazy accident at the coffee shop.” Luckily, the barista was making a new black coffee for Lloyd’s friend. He chuckled. “I can’t remember at the moment, but I’m sure it has happened. Probably. But it happens to a lot of people at the snow cone booth where I work. Sometimes people will get confused. Or maybe they’re in a hurry like you.” There was always some confusion but that was part of the job.

“I could just take yours.” Lloyd thought it would be the same since they both ordered the Vanilla Cappuccino and the other guy would just get his drink sooner. He shrugged. “Oh that’s cool! What school do you teach at? Do you know any of the other teachers? Maybe they can help you.” Lloyd would offer but he doubted he’d be any help. Plus he had to get the black coffee back to his friend. He shook the other’s hand. “It’s nice to meet you, too. I’m a college student by the way. I’m on summer break, right now, but if you want some help another time, I’d love to help you with your lesson plans.”

Before the barista had a chance to explain the confusion, Aidan turned towards the male that had spoken up. It made more sense, black coffee was instant so he could see why he had grabbed the wrong cup first. “Oh yes, I apologize, I just figured my order had been ready to go. I owe your friend a black coffee because I did take a sip from it.” he explained as he pulled out his wallet to pay for the drink. 

“Yes, with the weekend coming up, I have a lot of work to catch up on otherwise my weekend will be stressful so I was just trying to grab my order and leave. Sorry about that.” he added once more and this time leaned back against the counter to wait for the proper order. “Thanks for not being uptight about this scenario.” he added, which was an honest thought. He had gotten into arguments with others before over something as trivial as this.

He was always in a rush, but how could he slow down? There were papers to grade, assignments to prepare for, lesson plans to write for the next year. So when he grabbed his coffee order, he hadn’t realized he picked up the wrong order. He hadn’t heard the barista call out the name, but then again he wasn’t paying much attention as it is. As he left the counter, his only mistake was bringing the cup up to his lips before checking to see if it was his order. But by then the bitter liquid had already ruined his taste buds. “Nope, that is not mine.” 

At the realization that he had someone else’s order, Aidan headed back to the counter. “I’m sorry, I ordered the vanilla cappuccino, not black coffee.” he corrected before handing in the wrong order.

Lloyd watched the other come back to the counter. He had been waiting for his own drink. “I think that was for me. Well, not for me me because I also ordered the vanilla cappuccino, but the black coffee was for my friend.” Lloyd explained. “Were you in a hurry? You looked like you were in a hurry.” He commented about seeing the man a moment earlier.

“I like the way you think.“ Isaac replied, chuckling. He finished his water and proceeded to pull the other against his body. They danced slowly, while making out in the middle of the dance floor. Eventually, the DJ announced that it was over. Drinks would no longer be on Isaac, and everyone wished Isaac a happy birthday. Overall, it’d been a great time. “How are you feeling?” Isaac wondered if he’d sobered up since taking those shots.
