Frank being the first person to actually acknowledge that the deposition must be stressful for Mel, which is something no one else has done, and Mel legitimately doesn't know how to answer it, and immediately shifts back into her caretaker mode, asking about Becca

Mel King needing Becca more then Becca needing Mel King was actually EXACTLY what we needed in terms of Mel King character development. Like the only person she had doesn’t need just her, and that reliance literally shattering Mel’s perception of their sisterhood? Like oh! Becca has this boyfriend who is definitely an incredibly important person in her life. She did it on her own. Where does that put Mel? How does this affect her own relationship with Becca now that there’s someone else of significance to Becca? UGHHH this is so good. I’m gonna vomit. Langdon completely respecting her independence too and Mel seeking him out as soon as her deposition finished… wow… this foreshadowing is so damn delicious how am I gonna live for these next few episodes bruh.

Something so earth shattering for Mel, ON TOP OF HER DAMN DEPOSITION, to discover that her sister who she’s created a lot of her self worth upon, doesn’t need her or rely on her as much as she initially thought. And that’s a good thing Becca’s independence doesn’t mean not caring or loving Mel but it means that Mel’s gotta break away from the comfort that is the caregiver role and stop giving all that she has. She’s got to take care of herself and find her own the same way Becca did. And I have a feeling Langdon is gonna be her first step when she and him establish a rapport as good friends. And a bitch is fucking READY.
