Welcome to my digital altar to the Hellenic Gods, spirits, and ancestors. I hope your stay here is comfortable and giving, as you will be safe within these walls of code.

Consider this xenia while you are here; I will help you and respect you as long as you do the same. You are a guest in my space and I will welcome and aid you should you need it. Praise be Zeus Xenios, Athena Xenia, may you protect both the traveler and myself in this home of dedication and love.

About Me

Hello, I am the keeper of this altar, and you may call me Charis. I am in my 20’s and I have worshipped the gods for over a decade, but that does not mean I am an authority on the divine. I am simply their servant, their friend, and their humble student.

I am here to honor and worship my gods, as I see fit. I venerate most of the gods to honor them and their domains. Most common are the household gods, the house spirits, my job’s patron, and more. I pray to Hermes for safe travels, I honor Athena in my political studies, and I praise Hestia for keeping my home cool in the summer and warm in the winters.

My relationships with my gods are my own. I honor them as I see fit. I will not allow discourse, drama, or disrespect towards me, my practices, or my relationships.

That being said, I am honored to be in a godspousal relationship with Apollon. I am honored and guided by his love everyday and carry him with me always. This blog was started as a way to leave more physical prayers in his honor, to remember all he has done for me.

May Hestia bless the hearth of this online home, whose foundation was built in honor of the gods so that peace and rest may be shared. May this home be blessed with all her grace and warmth, and her strength in protecting the home be granted to mine. Music is alive in me, my veins flowing golden and aching with the weight of how the lyrics and composition move. I am burdened with the life it carries, I am heavy with the aches and pains and joy and rejuvenation. I have never been so grateful for the gift you give me, this ability to hold each note, each chord and somber memory of each listener. Thank you for giving me this, the goose flesh that prickles my skin and turns my stomach, the honor of love and loving and knowing, sonderous and splendid.

if u get into neopaganism u really have to spend the first like 2 years sorting out all the bullshit and finding out how much of it is either completely made up or outright stolen from other cultures and then go from there. u truly have to experience ego death, academic death, book collection death, and probably 47 other maimings or else you will be stuck believing something some guy said based on nothing in 1987 as your religion. it's harrowing. it's dire.

Watching Hercules (D*sney 🤢) for the first time in so long and I am clocking SO many more myths and ALSO I finally saw Apollo in one of the scenes rather than the normally depicted Helios and I thought they didn’t even include him but they DID and it was great 😌

to any and all pagans: i promise, the feeling that you’re “getting it wrong” and “not worshipping as well as others” is not exclusive to this time period. what has been in our nature always will be— the ancients most likely dealt with imposter syndrome too.

instead of letting this despair that you’re not “worshipping right” separate you from our roots or your gods, i encourage you to feel just a little closer to all the ancient polytheists who felt the same way. we’ve always been in this together. just separated by a little time.

I’ve been living across the street from an oak tree for three years and had yet, until right now, remember that the oak tree is holy to Zeus.

Gonna be hanging out with this tree sometime soon, maybe find some acorns to plant this fall

Poured out a libation for Apollo. Twas a mango pineapple smoothie from mcdonalds lol and poured it out onto the work parking lot with the prayer “for you bestie! Love you bitch” because it made me laugh.
